Broke after 3 months. Sounded like an impending thunderstorm was occurring inside the microwave.

Rattling noise

This seemed like a nice microwave at first, but after a couple if weeks, it started to make a rattling noise. We think it may be a fan inside.

DO NOT BUY! Since covid GE has been putting the cheapest parts in these microwaves and things are getting worse and worse. The switches inside go out very quickly after opening the box and now GE put in some kind of door locking mechanism that is goes out very quickly. I installed it 3 days ago and it already messed up. GE products are becoming trash. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TRY A DIFFERENT BRAND!

The microwave stopped heating after 2 months and it cant be returned
If your microwave runs but is not heating, there could be one of many components that is not working properly. Please make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Also check to ensure the door is closed securely; open the door and close it firmly. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms. -- If these suggestions do not solve the problem, we recommend following the warranty exchange instructions on page 15 of the Owner’s Manual. The Owner’s Manual can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Lauren@GEAppliances

Stopped working properly after 3 months

Purchased on 9-5-2024 and on 12-12-2024 it stopped working properly. I had a bowl of soup that was cold from fridge in the microwave for 4 minutes and it was still stone cold. The top, botton, and sides were all cold. Up to that point it had worked fine but it only lasted 3 months.
We are sorry to hear you've had this issue with your new microwave. Had to return after a month. Worked for about a week. Then I tried to use the potato button and it would say FOOD and never worked after that. What a waste of time.

Two attempts were made for the installation of my wall microwave. November 21st to December 11th.
We know difficulty having your microwave installed must be concerning. If you need to reach out to Best Buy about this installation concern, their customer service can be reached at 1 (888) 237-8289.

Overheats!!!

I bought this a month ago and it has overheated many times. Too bad Best Buy only gives 2 weeks for returns. Need to find another way as this product is crap.
As a countertop model microwave, we recommend you provide a minimum of 3" of air clearance on each side and at the top as well as a minimum of 1" of clearance in the rear. The quality of this microwave is sub par...POOR
the plate would not even turn until I forced it & microwave material is not sturdy I would never buy it again & did not return it because I could not carry it!
Food Settings not good missing a setting for a piece of bread etc!

I chose to buy a GE microwave oven because I really like the add-30-seconds button, and one-button cook feature for 1 to 6 minute cooking.
This particular Microwave oven is large enough to cook or heat family-sized portions of all kinds of foods. I use Pyrex (or similar) pots to cook potatoes, vegetables, soup, casseroles, etc. I also use silicon baking pans to make souffles, bundt cakes, etc, in this microwave oven.
We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying your ne microwave. This is a wonderful model that was designed for convenience. The Instant On Controls allow for one-touch instant operation, while the "Add 30 Seconds" Button increases cooking times with just one touch. Brought these microwave in July of 2023. August 2024, it started to smell like rubber burning and smoking on the inside. Either stay away from this microwave or purchase the insurance. I liked this microwave due to its features. But, problems happening within a year is not good.

NO POWER, BB EXTENDED WARRANTY

Date purchased: 5/24/24 location #156 Britton PKWY. 4y extended warranty. We took it to #156 Britton PKWY for repair. ANY TIME we have had a problem with something glitching out under the extended warranty offered by BB they gave been amazing. This is why i went to BB to buy the microwave. This time, they said we have to send it out to be fix¿ 3weeks wait time! The employee also told me to BUY a microwave and RETURN IT when mine is fixed. It was like it was no big deal. Makes ZERO sense to do that. I now know why they had a hole back wall of open box microwaves and other items. I used to love BB extended warranty, NOT ANYMORE!!

If this was purchased in May 2024 the warranty doesn't end until May 2025. Don't Buy From Best Buy!

This is not a review of the microwave, it's a review of Best Buy. I ordered this microwave, but canceled the order the next day because I was able to repair my old one. I received a cancellation email, but two days later I received another email stating the order could not be canceled. When I checked the order online, it shows that the order was canceled. When I called customer service, they said the order could not be canceled because the microwave already shipped, yet its not supposed to arrive for another three days. Be careful when you order from Best Buy.

Find Something Else - Thank Me Later

We purchased this microwave 18 months ago. 2 days ago the clock started flickering and the microwave wouldn't work. I called GE Customer Service. They refused to send us a new microwave, but gave us a Certificate to use towards a new one. How can a microwave die after only 18 months?! Next time I'll purchase the extended warranty because I don't have faith the next one will be any better. My suggestion: DO NOT PURCHASE.
