Don't buy from GE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish I could return! The heating elements on the stove top run too hot when on low. When making fudge the contents boiled over and damaged the cook top. Service said nothing could be done. The cooktop is difficult to keep clean. The timer alarm is very faint. The oven takes forever to come to temp. The stainless steel under the knobs scratches easily while cleaning. Such a disappointment

Great range but hard to clean
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a shame that this range didn't get a 5 star rating from me because it works great. I like the element arrangement, the controls which are easy to understand and use. The oven heats well, and the convection function is useful for most baking needs, though I've found some things such as pies are better baked without convection, as the crust rim will overcook before the pie is finished. The pan drawer pulls out easily and is ample for the skillets I use it for. So for overall functionality and ease of use this is a 5 star range, so why only 3? I may be over reacting, but the one problem that this range has, in my opinion could easily have been avoided. That problem comes with cleaning the range top. It has a raised rim around the surface that loves to collect all the particles that I am trying to clean off the range. Getting them out of there is a nightmare. When I use the ceramic wax or the cleaner to get burnt food off, the residue does not wash off the side of the range, but rather gets caught under that ill-thought-out ridge. Perhaps I would be less harsh, except that the range we had prior to this one had a smooth surface all the way to the edge - easy to clean. With this range I have to get out a vacuum to pick up the particles, and use a toothpick to dig them out of the rim on the borders of the range. It makes cleaning much harder than it needs to be. The reason that I judged it so harshly is that it would have been so easily avoided - just leave the edges of the ceramic alone, no reason for a rim at the edges.

Good Stove
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took an entire year to pick a new range after my oven shorted out. The reason was because every review I read had something terrible to say about the ranges in this price range. As winter hit again, I finally concluded that I missed baking. After a lot of worry, I selected this stove because the negative things said about it seemed to be the least bad. So, it is with great relief that I tell you I like the stove and the oven. They work well. As people said, the stove top gets hot, so whereas I used to crank up the heat to warm up a pan and then turn the temp down, now I have to start low and go higher if need be. The oven works well, I like seeing the temperature progress as it heats up. The controls are simple and it's easy to read without my reading glasses. I got the stainless steel finish and that is my one regret, it is so hard to keep clean. The finger prints and smears show on it because of the brushed surface and my range is across from a window so the light is always highlighting the smudges. I would have gotten white but it's $600.00 more! The burn in process was intense the first time we warmed it up. The burners were good to go after the first burn off but the oven might still be off gassing because I do find myself coughing as it heats up, I have only used the oven 4 times so I hope that is completely gone soon. When the guy delivered the stove he turned on all four burners on high at once and that seemed to short out the appliance. We were not sure if it was defective and sat there debating about taking delivery but eventually, the clock came back on and it was fine and has been every since. I have not turned on all four burners on high at once since then. We have had it almost 4 weeks now. I did buy extended warranty because of things I read but so far so good. I am content, it works well, is easy to use and hard to keep clean. If you choose this model, buy some Ceramabryte with it. That stuff works well to keep the stove top shiny. They give you a little sample with the appliance. If you're really concerned about finger prints and OCD about a perfect finish, don't get the brushed stainless, it doesn't hide anything.

Mediocre oven at best
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Oven takes a long time ( 15 to 20 mins) to heat for temps such as 350. Bottom drawer is very flimsy resulting in difficulty pulling it in and out. The cook top has a thin frame around it, it is black. When you clean the cook top with Cermabrite it dries in the frame ridges and is hard to get out. So u end up with dried white stuff in the ridges. This frame also cheapens the look. The digital display looks like it is out of the 80's. This appliance is very overpriced.

Extremely disappointed with this product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reading the manual before using this cooktop I bought all new pots/pans that are commercial grade stainless steel. I do not move cookware while cooking yet I have tiny scratches on cooktop that are a mystery how they got there. Also the top is black with tiny spots on it and am noticing discoloration in one of the burners. While cooking, a piece of food got under the pan and burned onto cooktop. Using Cerama Bryte cleaners and scraper and following the instructions to a T, I am now left with this circle and faded white around it that won't come off. I contacted GE's customer service but they are worthless. All they do is send me the page from the manual on how to clean the cooktop. Even though I am very careful while cooking if I get one drop of water on cooktop I have to clean the entire surface with Cerama Bryte as you can't just wipe the dirty area. What a pain that 98% of the time I have to use Cerama Bryte, making sure it is wiped up correctly or there are smear marks on the surface. I paid good money for this range and hundreds extra for new cookware only to be extremely dissappointed. This will be the last radiant glass cooktop I will purchase!

Failed after a little over 2 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this range for a little over 2 years & it has failed twice. If you're going to buy this range, at least buy the warranty. It works well enough when it's working but overall it's not a quality product.

Oven 100 degrees off!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The oven was working just fine for nearly a month and then all of a sudden things were getting very crispy around the edges and not so much the center. I decided to check temperature with both a temp laser gun and an oven thermometer both show that the temperature inside the oven is 100 degrees higher than that the oven thinks it is.
