Just what we needed!

This indoor camera is perfect! We love the talk and listen feature. The home and away settings are very easy to set up, and it’s great to have a camera that integrates right into our Google Home.

NEST cameras are excellent.

Now that they've moved to one price for the entire house, no matter how many NEST cameras you have, it's pretty good value. What makes NEST a lot better than the other brands is the 24/7 recording. RING cameras only record 30s which isn't enough time.

Great Little Camera

Set up was quick and simple with the Google Home App which also allows you to configure this product and its notifications to your liking. While its not the camera with the highest quality, in my opinion, the video quality is great. My only complaint is that the video stream can only be rotated 180 degrees, so this limits mounting options.

But this camera wouldn’t allow me to add it to my nest app for a one stop easy access. I would buy again if it was my first purchased camera, easy to set up and great quality.

The new Nest Cam (indoor, wired) is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Best indoor camera ever

Also, I have a Nest door bill camera and this work perfect for a window that I have this in to see on the other side of my house that’s in my window. It’s amazing at night and doing the day I would totally recommend to anyone. It also has sound on it so you can see any and all motions throughout the day it will alert for any and all things literally I would totally recommend to anyone.

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The company that manufactured my Dad's home security cameras decided to make their cloud-based remote viewing capability obsolete, and after a workaround I discovered also stopped working, it was time to upgrade to something simpler with higher quality video, and these Nest cams did the trick and more.

Great indoor camera

I replaced an offbrand camera from Amazon that I had been using when babysitting my in-law's dog. If you're brand new to the Nest ecosystem like I was, this is a great addition. I know most of the bad reviews are due to the disruption from previous Nest generations. This is a fine camera. If you have it indoors, you will probably want to disable the events in the Home app to not blast a notification every time you walk by this camera.

The video quality is excellent, even in low light, and the two-way audio works great for communicating with family or pets. Setup was simple through the Google Home app, and I love the real-time alerts and activity history. It gives me peace of mind when I'm away from home. Definitely recommend it!

For both of them, the Auto setting for night vision is not reliable. I have to continually go to the settings and turn night vision off, then turn Auto on again. Basically, the Auto feature is not Auto at all and I have to do this daily on both cameras (in different structures and on different networks). I have read reviews from others with this same issue where they did a factory reset of the camera and still had the issue, so seems to be a camera and/or software bug. Other than this, I am completely satisfied with everything else.

Great Camera Despite Annoying Changes

If you have a mix you can only view these cams in the Google Home App. That said, video quality and field of view are top notch for the price point and installation is a breeze.

We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant, hence the reason for the move to the Google Home app. If you already have some Nest cameras installed in your home, you may transfer them to the Google Home app. Here´s a guide that you can follow: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9893532

We like that they are AC powered, so no batteries to keep charged. We have seven of these models (and several outdoor models). We are still on the Nest trial which gives us 30 days of history, not sure if we will opt for higher subscription which gives us 60 days of event history and 10 days of 24/7 video history.

The image quality is much clearer, and the integrated microphone offers significantly better sound and range compared to previous models. My only suggestion is to include 4K resolution in future versions for improved zoom and detail.
