Hey there, Brteyes! Thanks for the feedback you shared about the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen). We hear your concern, and we understand that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app. However, our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Users with older cameras can view camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd Gen) has three hours of free event-based video history, automatically capturing clips when motion or sound is detected. For extended history, you must have a Nest Aware subscription or Nest Aware Plus Plan. We suggest checking that lights don’t shine into the camera lens, as bright lights can delay or prevent the camera from switching to Night Vision. You can also try to reset Night Vision in the Home app. Go to your camera settings and turn Night Vision off, then turn it back on.
