The phenomenal camera on the Gen 2 Nest wired doorbell not only provides a greater field of view from top to bottom but has also been very accurate with facial, motion, and package detection. I can now see more of the ground outside of my front door. Any deliveries placed right against the door are quickly detected by the package detection feature, sending me an alert and viewable on multiple platforms, from the Google Home app on my phone to any web browser after logging in at home.google.com, where I can see all of my Nest cameras on the same page. It was a great deal for me because I bought it as an open-box item and a fantastic upgrade to the original wired Nest doorbell despite the camera's lower resolution.

We’ve owned many Nest Cams and this doorbell is just as dependable as the others. Setup was straightforward, connection and notifications are consistently reliable, and it performs without hiccups day-to-day. If you already trust Nest for home security, this doorbell continues that track record: solid, no-frills reliability.

I had the Ring before I got this doorbell, and when I started using the Nest a couple years ago, the difference was night and day. The Nest was so easy to use, to integrate into the Home app, and to control from anywhere in the house. I love it so much that I bought one for my parents. They were trying to find a "lightbulb cam" and new outdoor light fixtures for security. My dad now sends a text or calls most every day to rave about the Nest - how he saw something or got an alert that helped him and/or saved him time. I would always recommend this product over any doorbell camera, but I'd also recommend it other any other type of outdoor camera, too. There's no need for a Ring or a lightbulb cam when you have the ease, features, flexibility and trustworthiness of the Nest.

This is an upgrade from the original version. There many noticeable enhancements to the second gen. For instance the body is more flush and sleek looking than the two toned model. The camera can see extremely well, better than the original. What I also like is that the kit includes a wedge adapter so that if you have a doorbell that’s parallel to your door but facing the side, you can get an angle on the camera to face it out better (you can purchase separate wedges that offer more of an angle. The only thing that prevents me from giving this a slightly better rating is the Google Home app. It’s not that great. It can add your new doorbell easily and will guide you through the process but general day to day use, it’s not very intuitive. The old Nest app was way better.

Upgraded from the 1st Gen. This one works great. The old one stopped working and didn't look as good as this one.

Better than the original version, easy install, took may 1 hour, like the door bell chime attachment, made it so could use my original door bell chime in the house. The video is clear, package and person detection much better. Would recommend this to anyone, even with the price it ua wrll worth it, I was lucky got it on sale. This rwplaced my version 1 of Google door bell which lasted many years but with desert temps the covering for lens got famaged.

Did an extended research to determine what I will get. Very happy with this one. Easy to install. Working perfectly with the older chime I had installed before. Great camera and love the build microphone and speaker. Very good connection and setup was easy. If you know how to use Google no problems. Definitely worth buying. Love it.

Love this Nest doorbell. Super clear video, easy to install, and works perfectly with Google Home. Notifications are fast and accurate. Looks great too. Highly recommend!

Extremely happy with the purchase, it includes free limited event recordings up to 3 hours total I believe, which is more than enough for my needs. I bought the excellent condition open box product and saved something like $80 by doing so, and I would never know it wasn't a brand new device. Condition was perfect, and all the parts and packaging were in the box and like new. This doorbell is miles ahead of my last video doorbell which was a piece of junk that came with my house. Would especially recommend this one if you have other Google home devices, as it can notify you of visitors via Google speakers and you can view the feed on a Google Home Hub when someone rings the doorbell. Don't sleep on the open box offers either! I don't know if I would do any lower than excellent condition just to ensure you get all the hardware and whatnot, but I saved a bunch of money and it appears to be brand new.

I recently installed the Google Nest Doorbell (2nd Gen) and it’s been a game-changer for home security. It’s packed with features that are both practical and easy to use. Good Points: Crystal Clear Video: The video quality is excellent, even at night. The 3:4 aspect ratio is perfect for capturing visitors from head to toe, and the resolution is sharp enough to easily identify anyone at the door. Smart Notifications: The Nest Doorbell sends smart alerts based on motion, and I can even filter out things like cars or pets. This is a huge improvement over other doorbell cams I’ve tried, as it cuts down on unnecessary notifications. Area for Improvement: Requires Hardwiring: Unlike some battery-powered models, this doorbell needs to be hardwired to your existing doorbell system. While not a dealbreaker, it’s something to keep in mind if you're looking for a more flexible installation option. Overall, this is a fantastic doorbell for anyone wanting reliable video footage and smart home integration. Just be prepared for the installation process if you're not already set up for a wired doorbell.

This doorbell is relatively straightforward to install as long as you're familiar with household wiring. The tutorials are helpful and once installed, the activation process via the app is easy. The camera works well during the day and night with great light sensitivity though I wish the sensor resolution was a bit higher. The people, pet, and package detection work great. The Google Home app features and functionality fall short of the old Nest app and Google has taken years to provide enhancements.

We chose wired because I didn't want to deal with charging it. And it's smaller.. works great and it's fast at picking up movement especially from people. It can tell the difference between animals and people and packages being delivered so it knows what to notify us of. The only cons would be the picture quality is grainy and kinda blurry.. just seems like I've seen other brands that are cheaper and have way better picture quality. Also it can only go back and view 3 hours , if you want more you have to pay for their subscription service. Which is Worth it maybe if you're gone on vacation or you know you won't have service where you're going because it does do a fantastic job at notifying you of any events and you can choose to save the clips to your phone storage to keep.

Love this doorbell. Works great! The directions should say the door chime can’t be connected to the transformer if it’s not also a door chime itself because I thought I had a bad transformer. I was messing around with it for a couple days before I decided to try it without the chime and then, what do you know, the doorbell had power and wasn’t blinking yellow. Hallelujah! Since the install it’s been working great, but often cuts out like the Nest cameras typically do. There are period gaps throughout the day, but otherwise I’m happy!

Nice product the size could be slightly smaller but over all it is a nice product. Install was easy and straight forward video is clear and audio is clear. I would recommend this product

This door bell is great. Has excellent video and audio quality. Installation was a breeze. Google's nest aware subscription is affordable and offers everything one would need for a basic video door bell. We are much happier with the Nest door bell over the Ring we had before.

First off I like the finish on this compared to the original. I had the original nest doorbell for over 3 years and the plastic on it started peeling and the devices would shut off after the bell was rung. This one works nicely. No issues at all. Wish it had a battery in it so if power was lost for a moment it could still record. The finish on this one feels nice and may last the test of time but, we will see. Video is clear and pretty wide. I like that the view is a wider aspect in the vertical frame to see packages.

I replaced my old Nest doorbell with this doorbell and it was very easy to install and great video quality! The Google app also still links to the nest app
