It can be as sensitive as you want it to be with its motion. Never fails on me, definitely recommend. Also, it's the best looking doorbell camera out there.

Even though these things are wired, there is still a rechargeable battery in it that will die in a few years. The first generation was a much easier install. With this one, I thought I was losing my mind. If you need extra room for the wires, install the angle bracket.

Only downside to this is if you upgrade to this (and I believe this is true of other new Nest cameras), you can no longer view it via the Nest app on your smart device. Now Google is forcing everyone to the “Google Home” app. It does work ok but I think I liked the older Nest app better.

We’re aware that longtime Nest users like you enjoy viewing the camera videos using the Nest app or web app. However, our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices along with Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.

Nice Upgrade

And since it’s outside some people shouldn’t have to worry about Google spying on them since that seems to be a topic of concern for a lot of people. It’s also easy to setup.

Nice clear video and ability to zoom does not lose image quality. I prefer the north south viewing area as compared to competitors who focus on East/west view.

I have had this for almost two years now and LOVE having it "Watch" my house for me. It even tells me when specific members of my family are home by name!
