Easy to install and has amazingly clear video and sound.

I love our Google home products. I don’t like the idea that some of the older products are no longer being supported, but I understand that technology changes and that’s the price to stay “up-to-date.” The doorbell camera and notification abilities are wonderful. I’m not a “techy” person when it comes to configuring things from scratch so having items like the Google doorbell and thermostats and the ease to install and then configure them is just what I need.

This is my 2nd Google (Nest) Doorbell. My previous one was I guess the 1st generation (I don't know, I can't keep up). Maybe it's just me (and I haven't installed other brands of video doorbells so I don't know if they're any different), but I told my wife if this one stops working I'm just getting a "Please Knock" sign.
It's not all Google's fault. Whoever decided it was a good idea to use wiring that's about as thin as my dog's whiskers get their head examined. It's low voltage wiring and it is an absolute PAIN to work with (you've been forwarned...) I won't rant on it but just hope you're builder left enough extra inside the wall because it's gonna break. Probably several times... The thing is Google did actually improve somewhat over the previous design. Previous the wiring coming out of the wall needed to be wrapped around the screws on the back of the doorbell directly then tighten down the screws. And guess what, a little too tight and the wire breaks. Now though they've included some pigtails that attached to the back of the doorbell and then the wiring from the wall is inserted into quick disconnect type connectors on the other end of the pigtails. This is definitely better, but the problem now is those connectors are bigger than they need to be so good luck getting them tucked away so you can actually attach the doorbell to the wall plate.
Again, I don't know if other brands have come up with better solutions but I have to think someone has... And the way the doorbell attaches to wall plate seems like a good idea, but not in practice (unless you can get the wires out of the way somehow. The install animation shows the wires magically being pulled back into the wall as you put the doorbell on the wall plate... Not sure how that's supposed to be done.
As far as the camera itself, I wish my old one still worked. On this new version they've widened the field of view for some reason (it's a doorbell camera, not some type of security cam) and it looks like a massive fisheye view of your front porch. The color is not true either. It's just a big design mistake in my opinion. It still has all the features like announcing familiar faces, setting zones to monitor, what type of events to monitor (i.e. people, packages, motion, etc.), live talk, Gemini integration, etc. at least. It's really big though so I would expect the camera itself to be way better than it is.
I really wish they hadn't put the stupid wide field of view camera in it and that they better thought out the installation. Personally I would try to find a previous generation version or wait and hope they correct these things on the next version. Or just try a different manufacturer's doorbell.

This best doorbell is amazing.its perfect. Mom in law has a eufy. It’s good too, but google just integrates with google home. It doesn’t intrude with sounds, but sends pop ups. We can make automations. It has AI so it can discern things. We have already benefitted I. Just a few weeks. Installation was easy for me. If you can use a screwdriver and a drill you can do this. Works great if you have a doorbell already in place with a transformer. The app walks you through identifying it. But almost all doorbells have a transformer behind the box inside the house. They just want us to double check the type. That’s the most doubtful part.

No outward changes from the previous generation, still has a great minimal style that blends cleanly into nearly any home's exterior. Much better looking than other video doorbells. Upgraded camera performance is nice, and Gemini integration is a big plus for Google Home Premium subscribers.

I purchased the latest Google nest doorbell, and installed it with ease since I had a previous generation. The upgrade was certainly well worth it. I now get artificial intelligence reports on activities, my house, and I’m very pleased with the upgrade. We’re not hesitate for someone else to do the same.

Great upgrade from the 2nd gen Nest Doorbell! The increased field of view allows me to see my whole front covered porch vs just in front of the door. The packages left in the nearest corner are also now in view. Time will tell if this withstands the Arizona Summer heat, but so far I am happy with the upgrade!

This is a replacement Nest Door Bell.
I enjoyed having The Nest installed when we moved to my current house.
The old door bell gave up the ghost but the video was great and notifications when somebody was delivering a package was great.

Moved from 2nd gen and it has been quite an impressive jump. Better clarity in night mode and overall improved clarity. "Fish eye" lens takes some getting used to - so research that view prior to purchase if you do not like it - don't make the leap. But I like the expanded view.

This is a replacement of a Gen 1 Wired Google Nest Doorbell. The installation was easy as the 1st one. It performs just as well and it has an AI component that will summarize all the activities it has captured on a particular day. You can select what events you are notified of. From people to animals to package deliveries to any motion to cars driving by. The addition of familiar faces is easy and notifications include the person's name that you have associated with the face. Overall, I love it.

3rd gen Nest doorbell is definitely an update over 2nd gen. Better resolution and AI enhancements. Would highly recommend. But the best part is that the install is identical to the 2nd gen unit. You can reuse 2nd gen wall plates and you are set.

I love my Google - Nest doorbell 3rd gen! It gives me comfort knowing I can see who is at the door at all times or if someone is just walking around my home. I love that it alerts me on the app. It works great! Highly recommend.

Great doorbell, another perfect condition open box from Bestbuy. Install was easy was worried about my doorbell wiring but it worked flawlessly. Probably installed in under 30 mins.

Good video quality, setup was simple, but app didn’t work at first. This caused a bit of frustration and wasted time, I had to delete the camera from my home and go through the process of adding the device again. Worked fine after. Subscription cost is also higher than ring, but you can do for free as well if you don’t need any history, so 50/50 there.

I upgraded from the Nest Doorbell Wired 2nd Gen. The hardest part is turning off the transformer to do the wiring. It's a 5 minute swap. If I had to suggest an improvement I wish the speaker was louder. I don't think it gets any louder than the last model.

Upgraded from the battery version. I'm liking the smaller form factor and larger field of view.
I just wish the Nest Home Premium subscription was priced competitively. I guess it would make sense if you had a lot of cameras and was completely invested in the Google Home eco system, but at that point... it's unfair and they have you hooked.

Love the clarity of video and sound. Easy installation for DiY. Works well Google home if your a subscriber but don’t need it if you don’t want to keep records of movements or sounds. It’s a plus honestly if you do because you never know what might happen around your area and need to look back at the video services that Google offers. The look of the doorbell is also a plus over like the Ring camera, which is very aesthetically, please to the eye.
