This is a hunk of garbage. It is overly difficult to use. and before your ask, yes - i am tech savvy but the user interface is pretty but very unfriendly. Took it back - So happy Best Buy has a customer friendly return policy.

I set the heating to 67 degrees, it won’t turn on until 65 degrees (its freaking cold) then when it finally turns on it heats to 69 degrees (Waaay too freaking hot to sleep it wakes us up) so I’m constantly turning the temperature up and down when it’s supposed to be doing it for you. It sucks dont buy it, I’ve had this too long to return it. Now I’m stuck with this expensive p0s thermostat.

Disconnecting from the app, no WiFi connection, restarts itself, goes offline are just a few of the problems with this thermostat. I replaced my router, did multiple restarts, reset everything and still doesn’t work. I will be staying far away from nest products in the future.

Wi-Fi disconnection, offline, and thermostat keeps on shutting down, possibly caused by power issues. When the thermostat battery is low, it will disconnect from Wi-Fi to conserve power so it can continue controlling your system. To check your battery level, press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu. Then, go to Settings > Technical Info > Power. Look for the number labeled Battery. If the battery level is 3.8V or higher, your thermostat is not disconnected because of a low battery. If the battery charge is below 3.6V, there might be a power issue.
