Called nest support & they are sending me a new one

Not as easy to install as stated. Still can't get to work

I love all the features this thermostat offers and it looks great. The auto away feature doesn't work well if your thermostat isn't in an area that is frequently traveled, but scheduling is incredibly easy as well as turning to away and home with a smartphone.

Have home/away issues; other then that pretty good.

I’m a bit disappointed. We’ve been through 2 of these now. Not only are they pricey in themselves but us having to pay an hvac guy to come out and figure out why our stuff isn’t working properly only to be told the thermostat is bad. 1st time, ok it happens but 2nd time now! We just got it in March 2022 and it’s bad after 9 months this time. Don’t waste your money on this one.

I recently just moved into my first home and I am doing a ton of renovations. My Heating interface was the last of my worries but someone suggested I look into the nest. Well, with that said I LOVE the Nest. Not only was it super easy to install, and I am not handy by any means, it literally took 10 minutes if that..... The app that goes with the nest is user friendly and I am very happy with my product and purchase. I even just submitted for a rebate through my electric company. I love the sleek black design of the nest as well, it really gives a modern day smart home that extra eye catching detail.

This is the seventh Nest thermostat I've purchased over multiple homes, long time nest advocate. But as expensive as these thermostats are, I expect them to be long lasting appliances. Two years later this unit no longer send the ac heat pump signal to my hvac unit. Confirmed by HVAC repairmen and fixed when I swapped the head unit with a working one.

Absolutely fantastic thermostat. Love the ability to control it remotely via iTunes app. The Nest also syncs with my xfinity Home app, so everything is in one app.

Game changer compared to old style thermostats. Love the functionality and interface. The Nest app works flawlessly and nice to have accessability to the door camera and thermostat on one app. Also, the style that works nicely with any interior decor.

Does not stay charged more than a couple days and does not work at all when not charged. Meaning that if you're out of town, no heat!

The Nest 3rd Generation Thermostat is a sleek, smart, and user-friendly device that has significantly improved my home's climate control. Installation was straightforward, and it quickly learned my schedule, adjusting the temperature to maximize comfort and save on energy bills. The integration with Google Assistant and Alexa makes it super convenient, and the Nest app is easy to use, offering insights into energy usage and remote control. While the price is a bit steep and the learning curve takes some time, the overall performance and design make it a worthwhile investment.

Loved it after I got it professionally installed. Then, just under 5 weeks of use it stopped working. Ended up calling the A.C. guy who checked it, replaced it with the old thermostat which was working fine. Called best buy just to find out the return policy is 14 days. Lost over $420 for the price and the costs of installation and getting it replaced again but nobody seems to care. I'll personally stay away, but again that's just my experience.

The problem I have is that no screws nor optional plate came in the box. How? The box was sealed.

Check for compatibility carefully before buying this. Best is to call and check.

My husband loves this thermostat I bought for his birthday. He installed it himself and "Nest" customer care was readily available and helpful when he had questions. It's exciting for a techie like my hubs to be able to control the temp of his house at his fingertips using the app. This is a great product and a game changer!

I love this thermostat. When I installed this unit, I was having intermittent furnace problems. I was able to check my home's temperature from Mexico to know if I had to call someone in for help. I like the auto-away feature which will turn your temperature setting down to the unoccupied level if you are away for a length of time as judged by the motion sensor in the thermostat. It now uses your phone location to help determine if you are away to go into "away-mode" sooner. It will automatically set a schedule for you based on your settings over time, or you can set a schedule from the app. There is also a history setting on the app to check how often your furnace ran each day. The app also allows you to change your temperature setting from anywhere in the world that has internet connectivity. The thermostat also integrates with the Nest Protect smoke detector for motion sensing and shut down the furnace during a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm.

We had multiple reschdules on instaltions .we r total tech members bit still they rescheduled the installation multiple times . Eventually we have cancled the order and now ordered from store , hoping to get it on the set date .

Very easy to set up and follow the online video for installation. Once set up in the app, very intuitive to use snd looks very sleek. We decided to not use the provided backing plate, and mount the thermostat directly on the wall. This just involved a small amount of patching compound on an extra hole from the previous thermostat and a touch up with paint.

My home is filled with smart home products at this point, and the Nest thermostat is by far the most seamless device to use. Installing it in my home was a 10-minute task, most of which was spent shutting off the breaker and getting it mounted on the wall. Setting it up to your wifi through the nest app is extremely intuitive and quick. Once you are setup, it immediately begins learning your usage habits and patterns. One nice thing about the Nest Thermostat, and Nest products in general, is that they are always updating them with new features. Airwave is one of the features that was last added to the thermostat, which cycles the fan after the AC compressor has finished running, to make sure that you get all of the cold air out of your vents. Nest Thermostat also integrates with other nest products, like the Yale X lock. Once the door is unlocked, the thermostat knows that someone is home, and can switch the cooling/heating schedule if needed. Another neat integration is with the Nest Protect smoke alarms. In the event of a fire in your home, it can tell the thermostat to start running the furnace fan, to help try and circulate as much fresh air through your home as possible.

Had a bunch of Rewards Zone certificates to spare so I ended up getting this thing for like $15.00. Let me tell you it would be worth the $250 ALL DAY LONG. VERY easy install and the ability to track usage, shut system off from your phone and auto away feature make this the worlds easiest and best thermostat out there. Never would I have thought I would say I love a thermostat, but I can tell you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thermostat.
