I was afraid at first because I really know nothing of heating and cooling, but I decided I would be brave and give this a shot. I watched the install video on Nest's website and I removed the old unit, installed this unit, and had it up and running within 15 minutes! It looks awesome on the wall and being able to control our home's temperature while we are out of town is awesome!

The Nest works great. The obvious features of being to set temps remotely are easy to use. The learning features work, but you will likely need to go in and adjust them from time to time. Reason being, if you adjust the temperature for a one time setting, the learning will see that and auto set that temp at that time the next day. Over time, with a few adjustments the learning works quite well. It is also very easy to set up pre-defined schedules with as many temp changes as you might want.

Good product, easy to install. This product fulfills our needs. We previously had an older version of NEST.

This thermostat is so easy to install and setup, which is always a big plus. But the user interface is so simple, anyone can use it. I love the fact I can control it from the app on my phone even when I'm not home. And also when I am home, I have my Amazon echo control it with my voice commands. Pretty Cool!

This is well worth the money. There is no programming at all and very easy installation for anyone. This thing going learns your patterns and beginsee setting Temps based on your temp seetings. Another great this is the app is very easy to monitor daily usage and setting temp for a warm or cool house when you arrive home. Very much worth the money will see how much saved over next few months.

I installed it in our 25 year old home heating & A/C system, to replace a flakey Honeywell thermostat. On line instructions for the installation are very good and easy to follow. The large cover plate that comes with the Nest is a bit unsightly, so I touched up the paint on the wall. Luckily, I had the original paint. Programming is quite easy but it seems the temperature settings for each day have to be set separately which takes more time. The Honeywell combined weekdays into one setting, which seemed more sensible, if less flexible. My Honeywell also used an adaptive method to get to the set temperature in the morning. i.e. it would figure out by itself when to start heating or cooling so that the set temperature was reached at the time you programmed. I don’t think the Nest does that. The Nest has a manual option to turn on the cooling early, but I think you have to just make a guess what the time should be. The eco mode is good, where it will use a different set of user programmed temperature limits if it detects no one is at home. I think it takes over a day to automatically switch to eco mode. Great if you leave town for a vacation. One problem is I couldn’t find a way to schedule Nest to turn off eco mode, so that the temperature was just right when we got home. Seems like that is still manual, using the app remotely. So, generally a reasonably good product that’s missing a few obvious useful features. I get the impression that the design & development team had little personal real world experience of a heating & A/C thermostat in their own home environment.

Overall a really great product. I'm able to manage my climate when I'm away from home, schedule the temps for time of day, etc. really awesome!

I bought the Nest about three weeks ago. With the app, it is handy to be able to set the temp down when I forget to do it when I was at home. Of course it will learn your daily habit of when you are at home and when you are away. I also like the fact that I can check historical energy usage. On the down side, It seems like big bucks to spend for something that turns on & off your heater/AC.

This is our second home with a nest thermostat and it was the obvious choice for us. The hardware installation and software setup were both simple, and we love the ability to use the app to monitor and control our home. Highly recommend especially if you get the Energy Trust rebate ($100 off)

This is my second Nest thermostat and the first thing I installed in my new home. I love the control I have over my utility usage and the intelligence of the Nest and its ability to learn your behavior. I also can connect to my utility company to alter useage for peak times where surcharges apply saving me money. The simple design is awesome as well.

User friendly and cool looking with great temp control features.

The smart Google Nest thermometer sounds great! It's always important to have an easy-to-use thermostat that can adapt to your specific conditions and preferences. Having a smart thermostat like the Google Nest can make things even more convenient, as it can learn more about your habits and preferences over time. It's great that the thermostat can adapt to indoor and outdoor temperatures, too, as this can help provide the most comfortable environment possible. It sounds like you're enjoying your thermostat!

I purchased two Nest Thermostats and a sensor. I liked what I purchased so much, I bought 3 more sensors. The sensors are essentially electronic thermometers that you can put at places distinct from the thermostat. In our house the thermostats are in the hallway and they always over heat and over cool the bedrooms. Thus I can use a sensor in the room as the thermometer and thus the set point for heating and cooling. The installation was easy. I did it myself. I have a good working knowledge of this sort of work, but it is easy and the instructions are straight forward. There are numerous videos available to help with installation. It appears through the first month that we have saved some money, but I will have to look over the year and base it on the average costs of heating and cooling. But based on the usage that the Nest evaluates, we have used less than last year and the temperature seems most even to that observed the previous year. Nevertheless, a more thorough evaluation is needed. The nest has great features including energy saving features, easy of use, voice control of heating and cooling temperatures (if you use the right app), etc. I am very happy with my purchase.

The Nest Thermostat is an exceptional product; super easy to install, beautiful on the wall (especially relative to the white plastic stat I had previously) and above all, effective at knowing when my family is home/not home and regulating the temperature(s) accordingly. Would recommend this product to anyone.

Great thermostat and even better looking. Very easy to install and use.

I followed the instructions to the letter. It absolutely would not come on. I unhooked it and reinstalled my old thermostat to make sure the issue wasn't on my end. Furnace came back to life with the old thermostat. I went to google for troubleshooting. One post I found said to use a USB cable and plug it into the back of the unit. It came on immediately. Then I unplugged it and reinstall it for the second time and all is well. The iPhone app is very good. I can control the temp from anywhere and it tells me how long it's been on and what the temp is inside and out. All things considered, I'd buy it again.

Easy to install thermostat. We have an older home without an AC wire connected to our furnace. I'd been looking for a smart thermostat but was having a hard time finding one that didn't require a C wire. Then I found this gem and it works great. Our house is more consistently warm than it has been in the previous 13 years we've lived here.

This is our second Nest Thermostat. Had one in our previous house that we left for new owners. Leaving this behind or not having this is like losing a limb. Highly recommend anyone that wants to modernize their home to have these. Installation is very easy for anyone. The included wall plate is also paintable if you want to match your existing wall color.

Works well, and I like the Nest Learning thermostat, it helps to manage the temperature in the house remotely as well as using the app when at home but away from the thermostat. We don’t use a lot of the features yet, but with our new A/C and furnace we may be able to better utilize some of these as our A/C ran 23 hours a day before it was replaced.

I love the nest...It only took about an hour to install and setting it up was so easy. If you can read you can do this yourself. I have it sinked through the app and through Google home. It's so cool just saying Hey Google! What is the temperature in my house or saying set my thermostat to 75. I am very happy with it,now do I buy the Nest doorbell?
