Set up an installation was easy. No need for professional install. The included instructions along with additional instructions on the Nest app have more than enough information to install on your own. The operation of the unit is fantastic as well. It is already learning our schedule and we have only been using it for a week.

I had to replace my old Gen 1 Nests due to a surge from lightning. I don’t see any difference betweeen these and my old ones because the the new features aren’t really helpful to me. However, these are reliable, always connected and I can easily change any settings from my phone. I don’t use the learn option. I set a schedule and let the schedule run everything. I think the learn option would be too much to have to think about (constantly changing the temperature). One of the best options is the home/away setting and using our cell phones to alert the system when we are home or away. When our cell phones leave the WiFi network the thermostats know we are away and goes into energy saving and coming back on when one of our phones is back on the wood network. I can’t compare it to other thermostats, but this one has been great, just as the first generation.

I like that it connects to my Google Hub. I find it easy to adjust the temperature. I like that it was pretty easy to install.

The nest thermostat is a must have. I’m able to save my monthly bill using this thermostat. It is easy to use and I use my phone to adjust the thermostat from my app. It is so convenient and it detects when there are no people in the house and will switch in eco mode.

This is a great product for those into everything in their home being smart. It's price but I got it for $175 on blackfriday. It's a product that helps make changing the temp in your house more convenient if your at work you can change it or in bed as long as you have your iPhone or smart device. Also looks really nice in the home.

I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Google Nest! We moved into a larger home with two HVAC zones and needed to make sure we weren't spending extra money and energy on heating and cooling the place, especially when we are gone most of the day at work. I'm so happy we can choose to turn on one of the systems and even do it before we get home to make sure that we can have the heater on when we get home!

Changing over to a smart thermostat has been the best transition. It’s so nice to control the house temp from anywhere, and we have definitely saved on our bills. Nest makes it really easy to install, and it’s very easy to use. DTE also have a great rebate. Really can’t go wrong!

We love our Nest. The ability to adjust the AC away from home is great, especially when the summer sets in those 120 degree temps destroy our electrical bill. The smart features are ok, but our schedule is too variable right now for this to be very helpful (when on, the nest tries to predict your schedule and adjust the temp based on what you seem to like - this only works if say every Monday in your life is uniform - ours is not with 2 young kids, variable nap times, activities, etc). You can make your own schedules if you like as well. Set up was pretty easy. I like know tech fairly well, but I am no electrician. Nevertheless, an online video or 2 and we were up and running w/o having to spent 200 bucks on an electrician. If you like, you can have the nest sense when you are coming and going (using GPS on your phone). Nest has a nice program that has our cameras, nest protect (smoke detectors) and nest thermostat all in one place. This is nice, esp when on vacation and checking in on everything. Sometimes I wonder if an Ecobee 3 would be better with its individual room temp sensing technology but overall I like the nest ecosystem so I am happy with the purchase.

It's one of those items you don't know what you're missing out on until you own one. I love being able to control my home temperature with my iPhone or Alexa. It can also learn your temperature habits which is a nice touch.

First off, the style beats the old round thermostats and the more recent square bricks mounted to the wall. Form and function are incorporated beautifully. Installation on my system was straightforward and simple. The only issue was the size of the wire labels. I had a hard time applying them snd getting them to stick. Photographing the wires with tags was a great help. Once the base was attached to the wall, the first step, and the wires were attached to the screw-free clips on the base, the main “dial” of the thermostat just snaps onto the base. Throwing the breaker back to the on position for the furnace powers up the unit on most systems. Then the setup program begins. Simple, straightforward and done in about 3 minutes. Connecting to the home network gives nearly immediate access to the wireless functions with Google Hone products and Alexa. You can speak to these products or use the apps. Easy as pie.

I have been wanting to buy this Nest Thermostat for the last 3 years, and since ComEd was offering a $100 rebate, it was the perfect time to finally get it. It works amazing, it took about 15 minutes to install, and is so simple to use. Once its on the wall it walks you through all of the steps. Great technology.

Installed with new alarm system. It is also linked to Echo dot. Really easy to use and lowers temperature automatically if it doesn't see any movement in the room for extended period. Best feature is being able to turn heat up before you get out of bed, and or from anywhere in house. Wish we would have switched over years ago.

The Nest thermostat is incredibly easy to use and--let's face it--looks very cool considering what it is. My unit had a slight problem with it and the getting a replacement was a hassle-free experience. Best customer support is available to troubleshoot common install problems and help you maximize the benefits of their "learning" thermostat.

Fantastic thermostat, very easy to install, I had it mounted and connected in less than 30 mins, already have seen drops in our energy bill. Very high tech and great app. I love the fact that I can control my home environment even when I am away. And my pets are very happy as well. Believe me, you will be more than happy with the Nest Thermostat.

The 3rd Generation Nest Learning Thermostat is an excellent investment in smart home technology as an energy and money saver. It is extremely easy to install using the detailed instructions included in the package or any of the dozens of Youtube videos to be found online. Once installed, it virtually programs itself to adjust the heating and cooling parameters to the activity patterns within your home space. At the same time, it provides ample opportunities to override these self-determined settings to suit the immediate or long-term situation. Many energy providers are sponsoring rebate programs that can somewhat offset the (admittedly high) initial cost of the Nest device. I have used it so far for a little more than three weeks in a fluctuating temperature spell and have found it highly correlated (through its detailed history function available in the smartphone app) with the number of degree days. More importantly, the house is always comfortable within the temperature ranges I have specified. A test of the cooling functions will have to wait several months I fear but I have no doubt it will prove equally helpful.

I love my nest thermostat. It keeps my home controlled with either heat or AC as needed and if it gets a little too cold or too warm all I have to do is talk into my phone or my Alexa and have it changed immediately. Don’t know what I ever did without one of these
