I like that I can control my thermostat when away from home, or asking my Google Home to change the temperature. Plus the cool Economy Feature of the thermostat leaning my schedule, and kicking the system back on when I get home.

I bought this unit to upgrade from Gen 2 because it can both make use of the sensors and it has dual-band WiFi for a stronger signal. It was very easy to install, it looks great, and it’s very intuitive to use, either on the wall, with your phone, or via a voice assistant. I’ll ding it a little bit because the sensor schedule—that is, when the device can be told to use which sensor—can’t be customized. You have 4 pre-set blocks to choose from, and that’s it. But then the trouble started. First I got a dreaded W5 error, meaning it’s WiFi radio was no longer working. I contacted Google for a replacement, which arrived promptly… but it kept getting caught in a boot loop and I couldn’t set it up. A second replacement arrived and wouldn’t correctly read my (very straightforward!) wiring, despite the fact that the one with the W5 error still could. The third replacement had the same issue, at which point I was advised to spend $130 to have a technician inspect my system to verify it was in fact the thermostat that wasn’t working. So after 6 total hours on the phone with customer support and HVAC technicians, and 3 replacement thermostats, I finally got my fourth one: an ecobee. I had it on and functioning in 20 minutes. My experience is probably very far outside the norm. I most likely just had a run of bad luck; I know when I see reviews like this for something I have maybe already talked myself into, I think, “ah but that’s just one guy; he’s unlucky or he did something wrong; that won’t happen to me.” And it probably won’t! But given the sheer number of issues I encountered—from failing components to annoying limitations to inept and sometimes contradictory customer support (who, at the end of the day, are call-center employees and decidedly *not* HVAC technicians)—I’d urge you to strongly consider other smart thermostats. This one is just not worth the risk or the headaches.

The Google Nest is a smart home system that seamlessly integrates various devices for convenient control. Its intuitive interface, efficient voice commands, and compatibility with numerous apps make managing your home easy. While slightly pricey, its reliability and extensive features justify the investment for smart home enthusiasts.

If you're looking for a great thermostat with lots of functionality, look no further. Install was easy enough. Very intuitive menu system was easy to navigate, and the thermostat was hooked up to my wifi in minutes. After installing, just begin using. After about a week, the Nest thermostat learned all of our heating/cooling patterns and I haven't had to make an adjustment since. No setting up daily or weekday/weekend schedules! Your nest also keeps track of how long your heat/AC runs each day and can display it to you. When you hook it to an online account, it can also provide you with monthly email reports of your energy usage. Finally, it was super simple to get this hooked up to my Amazon Echo, so I now no longer need to walk over to the thermostat to make adjustments. The Echo can make adjustments via simple voice commands. Highly recommended puchase!

Really happy with how the nest performs and takes control of your energy usage to regulate your HVAC system. It quickly learns your schedule and adapts to it. We bought two of these and are very happy. You can control your thermostat from anywhere using your smart phone.

The thermostat was super easy to install and I love the labels that came with it which made things even easier. I have been creating a smart home and this works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa. No more getting out of bed to see what the temp is set to!

This is my 2nd Nest thermostat. Had a 1st generation in my previous house. It was great. I love this new Nest thermostat. Installation was a breeze (I am a middle aged, non-technical woman). Easy to program too. Learns you habits.

I had bought one of these 7-8 years ago. It has never let me down. Always worked and has definitely saved me money. I liked it so much when I moved I had to get the new 3rd generation one. I love how sleek these new ones look.

Thing is pretty legit. Way better than our old one. Love the schedule and how it gets smarter every day learning our home/away habits.

Moved into a new house and replaced all the honey well conventional thermalstats with this. Good design and stable functionalities. A worthy upgrade.

The Nest thermostat was so easy to install and use. It is still learning my habits and already paying for itself. I have it synced to my iPhone so I can adjust it remotely. It also syncs with my home alarm and knows when I am away, automatically going into eco mode.

Love this product, it makes it easier to turn ac/heater on & off, saves electricity by turning eco mode. Easy to install it only takes a few minutes maybe less than 30 minutes.

I bought two Nests, one for each floor of the house. After the installation, my power bill has dropped anywhere from $150 to $300 depending on the month. My house is fairly large, and it was built 30 years ago, heating and cooling the house is just as easy as before and SO much cheaper. In the first four months, the savings paid for the devices. They were basically free. It is also a nice touch to be able to adjust the temperature from your phone if you wake up in the middle of the night from being too hot or too cold. Also, it worked well on maintaining an economic temperature when we were on vacation. It was a comfortable temperature when we arrived home as well. I 10 out of 10 recommend this product to anyone!

I love this device and cant wait to see how much energy I have saved this month. I know from looking at the history (the first day I let it run the same schedule as my old programmable thermostat did on a weekend when I was home). The difference in how much it ran that day compared to since then, when I can turn it up and down, with my Echo, is unbelievable. And it is so convenient in the middle of the night to be able to use my voice to turn the thermostat up or down instead of getting out of bed and going down the stairs to reach the thermostat. I love all smart devices, but this one is hands down the best. And though this is the only brand I have tried, as it is my first smart thermostat, I can't imagine any other could be any better. From the eco settings, to the history and it even tells you the humidity, and of course the ease of use through voice control.

This nest thermos works awesome already save me lots of money on my bill already. Easy to use on your phone don’t have to run downstairs to turn it off and when I’m out of town I can control my thermos when people are trying to put it way low

The Nest was very simple to install. We have been using it for about a month now. It does learn our habits and adjusts for weather conditions. Our place has been more comfortable after installing the thermostat. I recommend it for anyone.

We have had the Nest for almost a month and love it. It is so easy to use and can easily turn up the heat and not even have to get out of bed. Also, by using the auto away, we never get stuff with forgeting to turn the AC off when we are gone all day. Would recommend to anyone

The Nest thermostat is everything they say it is. It looks very stylish on your wall for one and is easy to install and program. When you walk in the room it comes on in big numbers and tells you the temperature along with a orange color if it is heating. Love it!

This device is great. It is very easy to use and looks great. I love that if I want to turn on the heat late at night, I don't have to go downstairs to do so. Also, if I get to work and can't remember if I turned it off, I check it from my phone and turn the thermostat off.

Very easy to install and set up. I like the learning ability when you are home or away and the user friendly app to adjust it wherever you are. It's energy efficient and adds a nice clean touch to the house with a more modern sleek look.
