We had to order this separately after our Nest thermostat arrived. Tech said “you don’t have the parts you need”. The rest of the kit arrived a few days later. See photo — as installed it looks pretty silly. We understand that other Nest thermostats are unlikely to use this thing. Anyway, pay special attention to all the text on the Best Buy ordering page.

This is a $15 piece of plastic. That's pretty much it. It covers any unpainted areas from a previous thermostat while also staying true to the Google minimalist design. Personally, they should include the kit with all of their thermostats given it literally is just one piece of plastic. No extra screws are even needed to mount it on the wall. But it looks better in person then the photos give credit for.

Updated our Nest thermostat from the 1st Nest - there is the ability to do more settings of the thermostat for any day (overnight setting, morning start & time, multi setting times to turn down temperature a day or to set up specific days/times for any day or multiple days). Additional has a daily, weekly & monthly record of the hours of usage as well as tracking 'Leaf' of the daily usage. Can control it from the wall (easy to turn it on & off with sliding your finger on the side of the thermostat) or using an apt on your phone. Turn it on & off away from home) Still seeing other possibilities.

I bought 3 thermostats but I needed one of these trim kits because one of the old thermostats was mounted by a hack who left a big hole in the dry wall. I thought about patching the hole, but bought this instead and it actually looks very nice and professional. I was worried it would look like a patch job, but it looks great. Did not come with the dry wall screws and bolts that I needed, but no big deal.

Perfect accessory for my Nest Thermostat. The trim kit covered the old screw holes and wall marks, making the install look clean and professional. Color matches the Snow thermostat nicely and blends right in with the wall. It’s just a trim plate, but it really finishes the look and saves time on patching/painting. If you’re installing a Nest Thermostat, this kit is definitely worth grabbing.

This bit of trim fit the Nest perfectly and is the correct size to cover the area and opening from the previous thermostat. Very good solution. No painting or other touchup required.

I don't care for the appearance of it, but it does a good job covering the messed up wall from the older, bigger thermostat. When we repaint I will take this off and only use the thermostat...that being said, this gets the job done. Easy to install.

Replaced my old thermostat with a Nest and it works great. I didn't realize how gaping the hole in the wall was from my old thermostat, so I went down to Best Buy and picked this trim kit up. Covers up the hole nicely, though not gonna lie, eventually I'm gonna fill the hole in the wall up with dry wall paste and paint over it so the thermostat looks nicer.

Installation was very straight forward even though I had to install in an unconventional way. I had to install vertically because of a neighboring switch and it covered as it should. Definitely helps to delay painting the wall. Very nice accessory for my Nest Thermostat. Sorry I couldn't upload a pic.

Easy to install and does its job -to sit there and look pretty. Not much else to it. However, I think the price is a total ripoff for what it is but that's my opinion. I wound up buying it anyway as I needed it but if you can catch a sale or deal on it, wait for that time.

This thermostat was very easy to install and works as described. It’s a big improvement over our previous thermostat.

Perfect fit, I love how it covers all the area where my old thermostat was. I would recommend to get it with the nest, you could always remove it. Installation is super simple and easy. I would recommend.

I purchased this to go with my nest thermostat in sand. I’m not sure I need it but it does look great as a backing. It’s cheap but not cheap looking. It’s matte and thin but sleek. Together with the thermostat, it looks very mid century.
