The option for a reliable battery powered doorbell cameta is great. This one looks sleek, works well, and is extremely easy to install and setup.

Almost perfect; just needs 24/7 recording on power

I love the taller field-of-view, which, for my use at least, makes it much more practical for seeing packages delivered, people's heads while they're ringing the doorbell, etc. Only downside is, even on power, it only records events

Only downfall is if you don’t know how to use google home or don’t know anything involving google then it might be difficult for some people. Other then that it’s a good product

Video is ok for general purpose but you’re not going to see distinguishing details very far away. A major dislike for me would be it doesn’t offer 24hr recording when hardwired. I would recommend for ease of setup and use with the understanding it’s just ok quality and battery version doesn’t offer 24 hr recording when hardwired.

While you may not get continuous recording, you do get the flexibility of choosing if it will be battery operated or wired. Only down side is the battery life in cold weather

I like this much better than ring because it comes off easier rather than trying to screw off to get to the battery for Ring. Like with all battery powered doorbells, you have to charge it frequently in cold weather.

Nest Doorbell (battery) is designed for the outdoors with the temperature range of –4°F to 104°F. Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
- Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
- Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
- Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
If you’re willing to try, we recommend checking the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Doorbell (Battery). If the short battery life isn’t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your Nest Doorbell (Battery) and understand what may be causing it. Sleek Design, Reliability

I live in an apartment complex and the color matches well. Functionality I'd give it an 8 out of 10 for the fact that I mostly use Google products. Anyway, getting this was pretty much an easy choice.

It alerts me when someone unfamiliar comes up to the door. We had someone wiggle the door handle in broad daylight a month ago and it caught them on camera and I was able to post it to our neighborhood alert system. The integration with the nest display is fantastic as well. Love that when someone rings the doorbell it rings inside the home.

Reliable can view right on your phone or google devices seamlessly. Never had a ring or anything but when your home is all google don’t even waste your time with anything else. Just Go google!

Did some research about voltage and transformer. It turned out my current doorbell has already have the right transformer. Installed the Google doorbell in about 10 minutes. Worked great with my current chime. Also sends notification to Google home app and Google assist speaker. Very happy with the purchase.

Event detection and recording depends on the settings that you select. You can choose which events your doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). Using activity zones to monitor specific areas can also help. As for the battery life, adjusting video quality, length of video clips, and time between recorded events can extend its battery life. Easy to get connected and keep everything neat. We bought 2 so when the main one needs a charge we can easily swap to not have a delay of a couple hours waiting for the charge.

This device can run on battery alone, but if you prefer it wired, it can be connected to doorbell system wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz. Meanwhile, you might also want to check for the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) that has a voltage requirement of 16 to 24 VAC and a power requirement of 10 to 40 VA.
