Its a little bit hard to setup and login good quality video but slow connectivity
Hello there, Benny. We appreciate the feedback you shared about the Nest Doorbell (battery). We’re glad that you like its video quality, but we’re sorry to hear that your experience with the setup and connectivity is below your expectations. You may need to check for any range issue or wireless interference that can affect the overall performance of your doorbell. Sometimes the device won’t pass the connection test during setup, and will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away from your router. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the doorbell and your router as these items could block the connection. The nest doorbell was an overall great camera. The facial recognition was pretty spot on along with package, identification and things like that. I ran it wirelessly, and the battery life would do at least three months before recharge.
Hi there, JayT. Thanks for your feedback on Nest Doorbell (battery). We appreciate that you like the video quality in addition to its recording feature. We hear your concerns about the doorbell sound.
Although Nest doorbells have sounds that help you know what’s happening (for example, when it restarts), a chime is not included, But when a visitor presses your Nest Doorbell (battery), you can hear an audible alert if you have compatible smart speakers or displays, like Nest Audio or Nest Hub. You can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements if you want to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Or If you choose the optional hard-wired installation, it will work with an existing doorbell chime if you have one.
On the other hand, you can adjust your Nest doorbell audio settings to turn the microphone off or on, change the microphone sensitivity, and set up audio notifications. Visit the links below to learn more about the audio settings:

Set up was easy as well as the installation. Love being able to see and hear who is at the door in upstairs bedroom with it paired with my new Nest Hub Max.

The google Nest camera is very easy to set up, cool design and has great battery life. I have ring and nest and Nest outshines my ring doorbell with clarity and free features

Great product, long battery life (about 1 month per charge). Only downsides are you can’t connect it to your Nest Account. This device only connects with your Google Home app. It takes a long time to recharge.

I was in need of a door camera and I went with this one because I knew it would integrate with my other Google products. My biggest gripe about it is having to use the Google Home app to set everything up and there's not a ton of features. You need the nest plus subscription to review videos more than 3 hours old, otherwise they just go away. I haven't had experience with other ring doorbells but I can say that this was great for my use case.
Hey there, ZeroX! We’re grateful for your feedback on Nest Doorbell(battery) and we’re glad to hear it’s a great experience for you. We understand your preference for managing it in the familiar interface you're used to. However, our focus is on streamlining your smart home experience by consolidating control of all your devices, including Nest and others, within the Google Home app. This also offers several advantages: - Enhanced security: Built-in features like suspicious activity detection, 2-factor authentication, and security checkups provide robust protection for your home. - Seamless interoperability: Your Nest devices and services will work together seamlessly for a more connected home environment. - Unified login: Manage everything with one account, eliminating the need to switch between apps. - Consistent organization: Your homes and members will be synced across both apps, ensuring a cohesive experience.

This is convenient for those who don't have a wire accessible for the Nest Hello Doorbell. But this unit is kind of large and clunky. I bought as a gift and cant speak to how well it works. But I love my Hello.

Having owned this device for about 3 months, I've had a few ups and downs with it. Going into this, I was able to live with the limitations in recording. I was overall pleased with the short clips and ability to set notification zones. However, the the battery life did not matching what was advertised. Living in a relatively busy street, I decided to configure the settings to optimize battery life - this made the battery last about 10-14 days before draining completely. While not terrible, it was still not what I expected, so I decided to hard wire the door bell. This solved all my battery concerns and I was actually content with this product at this point.
That is until one winter day, the Nest app informed me my device was low on battery and would stop recording clips. I made sure power was still going to the bell and app also said it was plugged in. This happened about 3 more times over the next couple months, with each occurrence lasting about a day. While the bell could still be rang, it was certainly annoying to know the Nest Doorbell would not be able to notify me of packages, or even worst, if someone stole my packages.
TLDR; buy this device if you're okay with charging the device every 2 weeks, or have a wired doorbell line. Do NOT buy this device if you live in an area where winter is cold (for reference, I live in NY).
Hi Henry, thanks for sharing your experience. We regret to hear that you’re having battery/charging issues with your Nest Doorbell (battery).
During extreme temperatures, charging is paused to prevent the battery from getting damaged. If you’ve connected your Nest Doorbell (battery) to your existing doorbell wiring, the wires don’t directly power the doorbell. Instead, the battery is trickle charged by the power that comes through the wires, and the doorbell runs off the battery charge. At temperatures between -4°F (-20°C) and 32°F (0°C), the doorbell can continue to work, but the battery will drain because it can’t be charged. If the battery drains completely, the doorbell will shut down, and you’ll need to bring it inside to be charged.

Very easy to install and works great! Clear picture
Hey there, DeannaM. Thanks for leaving feedback on the Nest Doorbell (battery). We’re glad that you like its integration with your home display in addition to its video and sound quality. We’re sorry to hear that its performance is less than ideal, and we hear your concern about having a wider field of view.
Event detection depends on the camera settings that you select. You can choose which events your camera or doorbell can detect and record (people, motion, package, etc.). From there, you (and each member of your home) can decide which of those events to get notifications for. If an event is turned off, you won’t get notifications for that kind of activity. You can also change the settings like adjusting video quality, wake-up sensitivity, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas.
We understand that having a wider camera view can be ideal for you. However, unlike some other video doorbells, Nest Doorbell (battery) has a 145° diagonal field of view at 3:4 aspect ratio. It is intended so you can see people from head to toe, and packages left on the ground.
