We got the battery operated one as we had no wired doorbell prior. So far the battery has lasted a month, and still has 5 weeks left to go before a charge is necessary.

The charge that first lasted a month or more now is lucky to get 7 days. The network connection and loading of history is painfully slow compared to my other cameras and the sling loaded peg that helps hold it in place on the door mount is already stuck in so it no longer locks in place. We have a covered porch so it is not really exposed directly to the elements but still it gets worse every week.

It is important to check the frequency of events (per day) that you get with your Nest Doorbell (Battery). If the short battery life isn´t related to the frequency of events, then we may need to have a closer look at your device and understand what may be causing it.
Nest doorbell battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. Users can extend the battery life of their camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios:
Busy: About 1 month battery life (About 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical: About 2.5 months battery life (About 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet: About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Slow streaming of the video feed from Nest Doorbell (Battery) and connectivity issues are sometimes related to a possible congestion or weak signal from your Wi-Fi network. Removing some of your connected devices can help free up some bandwidth space. You may then check to see if you will still experience the same connectivity issue. You may also check for possible sources of interference such as the thick walls and appliances in your home. If you verify the presence of congestion, contacting your Internet service provider to check your bandwidth and upgrade it if needed is highly recommended.

Seems to work well. I do note a slight connecting delay when someone rings the doorbell. Make sure you have a strong 5ghz connection nearby. Besides that, note that this does NOT work on your NEST APP. YOU MUST USE Google Home which is a bummer.
