I bought this camera approximately 1 month ago and so far everything that I've used it for it has performed well. I've used it from simple photography of vehicles, to motocross with a head mount, mounted to the windshield of my truck while driving on the beach, and mounted to an extension handle while jumping off of a high 50ft platform into the water. So far all features of the camera have worked and worked well. The video quality is decent, when there isn't too much jolting around or quick motion the camera performs great. Although when under a lot of bouncy conditions the video quality begins to fail more. Without the video stabilization it gets a little blurry over bumps or vibration. The Audio quality is actually better than I expected with only a little bit of wind noise (tested up to 60 mph) there is rarely ever any hissing, if any there is occasionally a roar in the background. Picture quality actually surprised me, the wide angle lense and the GoPro's ability to capture color made for great photos of sunsets, truck pictures, and anything else you might want to photograph. The battery life was rather mediocre, you can video for maybe an hour on a single charge, which in most occasions was enough for me. Overall for the 150$, after you get a few accessories and mounts you will have a very nice and durable camera. The photo below was caught by using a 3ft extension handle. I bought this camera for a family trip to the Bahamas. We did an excursion and swam with sting rays. Beat investment I could of made. We got great video and the kids loved it. It was so easy to use that my 7 year old grandson was able to use it.

I love it.. It's portable, versatile with its many accessories, HD+ and waterproof. What more can you ask for in a camera?

I read several reviews before my purchase. I decided on the hero Sessions over the hero 5 simply due to the fact I don't need 4k. The camera works as you would expect. You can control it via your cell phone or manually. The downside that I was well aware of prior to purchase is there is no optical zoom. In fact there is no zoom at all. It is a wide angle lense. This is great but limited. You won't be filming whales from shore. The mounts I got were all very handy I only wish I had more of them. The head gear works great. I have not needed the wait one yet. I used it for documenting travel experiences, interviews,live music recordings, and video from an airplane so far. In all these situations it worked great. It also does timelapse very well. And although it lacks zoom it does have lots of other features you would expect out of a still camera. You can take action shots or stills. The camera is just fine but it simply doesn't replace a good digital point and shoot camera. For POV it is a fantastic device. I also found that it works with magnetic mounts just fine. It does get very warm when in use which surprised me a bit. It holds a charge well and recharges extremely fast. It does underwater very well. It is truly waterproof. The 64 Gig SD card I got gives me over 5 hours of video time. This tiny camera fulfilled all my expectations. It did not exceeded them but I am very happy with my purchase.

It was bought for a backpacking trip in the sierra nevada's to capture the expansive beauty of the land, and it did so magnificently.

It's no silver or black edition but if weight or size is a issue then this camera is a great mix. I'm using it strapped on top of a quadcopter so I made sure to get accidental insurance. This is my second one but to be fair the first took a major crash and was still working but the back plate split at the seams.

We love the ease of use and the durability of the camera. Shortly after buying our first Session my son accidently ran over the camera with his truck while making a video. The camera survived and still works (the LED screen no longer works but we can use it with a phone or tablet.) We bought another one and use the original as a second camera or backup. My only issue is with the phone/tablet app. It gives you a preview of the shot to check for exposure and framing but as soon as you start recording the preview goes blank until you stop recording. Otherwise, the app and camera are great and it is nice to control the camera remotely with a phone or tablet.

If you are a current gopro user, this is a good camera to either replace an older model, or use in conjunction with an existing gopro collection. Man things this can do that other gopros can't 1. gopro session can be pulled out of housing and placed into another housing with ease. You can have multiple housings set up on different equipment or positions, and simply slide the session in and out. 2. one button, on and record function... not sure if this is available on newer gopros, but it was not available on the hero 3 and below. 3. memory card can be accessed while still in the housing. i keep my gopro mounted, pop the card out, plug the card into my phone and review my videos on the go. here is a link to a youtube video i made entirely with the hero sessions, and the gopro editing software (free) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR1dFHt9qXg there are alot of features that the hero4 has, that the session does not have... but i feel like the main features i utilize the most for action/home videos are covered here with the session. I wanted a high definition camera that was waterproof. The Gopro hero 4 session is the best camera any beginner can use. I use my Gopro for music videos.

Soooo glad I got it before my vacation to Bora Bora!!! Wow...swam with sharks and got great underwater footage. Super Simple to operate for video. A little cumbersome to quickly go between video and pics. Not having a screen made for quick playback virtually impossible while out and about. Trade off of Size and Battery life might be worth the Hero5 to see if you need to take that shot again instantaneously. good luck...glad I got it...strongly considering upgrading the Hero5.

One of the best products ever purchased GoPro - Hero Session HD Waterproof Action Camera was perfect! It helped me capture memorys of my youngest grandson as he finally let me continue to teach him how to swim without his floaty aswell as the rest of the family. 5 Thumbs Up! Thank you GoPro! and Best Buy! Would have loved to have those memories of my children and other grandchildren on their 1st swim... :-)

Love the Camera. Use it in kayaks, river tubing and on our motorcycles and motorcycle helmets. We have also used it on water slides and to catch scenery when driving by mounting it on our kayaks racks.

I bought the GoPro session and was very impressed. I recorded an hour of music in 1080 and was very cool. The picture and sound quality were terrific!

No question about it... This is a great camera quality for videos and pictures... Best camera ever... Love it!!!

i have a 4 black a 3 silver and this session and i'm getting the same video quality out of the 3 cameras since i always record on 720p. i just purchase another session.. love that little camera

Bought my GoPro Session for a two week trip to Hawaii. Stopped working on day two. Advertised as waterproof to 33 feet. Hardly. While snorkeling in 5 feet of water my Session flooded. Now I have to deal with the GoPro support/return department to get a new one. What a bleeping hassle. I could not recommend.

You will love this camera. Very easy to use, small. Quickly charges and water proof. I took it to Hawaii and I am very glad I bought it. I have a lot of great memories now. Plus the 1080P is very clear considering they have have 4k out. You won't regret this purchase
