The HDMI port on this monitor broke in less than a month, causing the picture to have a bunch of red pixels on it. I tried replacing the HDMI cable and tried a different input source. It's definitely the monitor. The menus on the monitor work fine, so it's got to be the HDMI port.
This monitor arrived on April 12th. I went to Best Buy on May 11th to try to return it, they refused to take it back. I guess they won't stand behind this product for even a month, so you definitely shouldn't either.

I bought these due to price which was hard to pass up. I got them home and there is no height adjustment. The base design doesnt allow the monitor to be used with a dual monitor stand that would have corrected the issue.

It’s surprisingly subpar in build quality and display quality. The base is way too small and covered with a cheap plastic that is creaky. And most importantly it pales in comparison to even larger displays with lower PPI. Colors look washed out and text is blurry. If you need a monitor I would recommend you look elsewhere.

If you are looking for a monitor that can handle work or play, the HP 21.5” LED Full HD FreeSync Monitor should do the job nicely. This monitor not only performs well, but it looks good too.
Out of the box, set up is easy. It comes with the base, monitor, power cord, and HDMI cable. There is some assembly with the base of the mount which doesn’t require any tools. If you want you can use a Philips head screwdriver to tighten the screw in place, but it is not required. The mount securely locks in place on the back of the monitor. There are no preset drilled parts so you would have to get some kind of bracket if you were looking to mount this on some type of other mount. There are inputs for a VGA port or a single HDMI connection. Just plug in the power and you are ready to go.
The monitor is very good. This is an IPS monitor so it is very easy on the eyes. I spent all day on this monitor and had no strain on my eyes. There are several inputs to choose from including Warm, Neutral, Cool, Native, Night, HP Enhance+, and Custom RGB, so you should be able to find what works best for you. Native worked well for most applications I found. And with full HD 1080p and a 10,000,000:1 Contrast, the picture is outstanding.
The bezel on three sides is just a fraction of an inch. This makes for a very attractive picture as well. The documentation says that you can view the screen from as much as 178 degrees. While you can see the screen from those extreme angles, I found that after I got offset by 20-30 degrees one way or the other, I really did not have much utility. But at 21.5”, I am usually the only one viewing it at a time so it wasn’t an issue.
I used it with a MacBook, PC, and PS4. The monitor performed well in all situations. Whether working on Excel or Word or gaming from the PC and Mac or playing baseball on the PS4, the monitor was great. There is very little input lag in the system so it should work in several gaming settings. And the ease on the eyes (the screen is anti-glare) lets you work all day with little eye fatigue.
There are a couple of drawbacks on the monitor. For one, there is only one HDMI input. While you can get an HDMI switch to handle this, I would still prefer that the monitor had an extra HDMI input. Perhaps more noticeable is that the monitor does not have an integrated speaker. So, if you application requires sound, you need speakers or at least a headset to hear what is going on.
In conclusions, I highly like this monitor. The pros with this monitor very much outnumber the little negatives in my opinion. I recommend this monitor for whatever application you may need. It packs a great picture without hurting your eyes.

I purchased 2 of these in June 2021. They have been great, but now seem to be going out. They flick on and off all day and it’s infuriating. I have checked all cables and connections, that isn’t the issue.

Great! I purchased a smaller portable monitor at the same price point and kept this one because it was more reliable. The portable monitor started acting up the second day I used it.

The screen resolution is pretty good but I got it for a sevind screen with an iMac and you can really tell the difference on the quality. I ended up exchanging for a samsung monitor.

This item came as an open box purchase that was rated in excellent condition. However, when it was set up and turned on we found that it had in fact had a seriously damaged screen which made the monitor unable to be used.

Cheapest display anyone could ever purchase. Absolutely atrocious price for the quality you receive. The display is made of cheap plastic. Easily damaged internally, has awful movement of screen which is only "up or down" and not able to make shorter or taller. Awful year warranty along with it. Go with a different brand.

Do not buy. It gives 30 day warranty and the monitor shows dead pixels after 30 days so it cannot be returned or exchanged. I have 5yr old monitors and this one died days after the 30 days return policy. Never going to buy HP product again. It's a shame because it's a good monitor, but it has a 30 day life span.
