This is a great display to use as an extending display for my new laptop.

PIECE OF CRAP! BROKE ON IT'S OWN AS I PURCHASED IT AS AN OPEN BOX! NEVER BUY AN OPEN BOX ITEM FROM BEST BUY, UNLESS YOU WANT THE THINGS TO FALL APART, YOU THROW YOUR MONEY, AND GET TREATED LIKE CRAP FROM A BEST BUY SALES PERSON. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS!

Computer doesn't come with a USB port so it's pretty hard to do anything with unless you get a USB hub to connect to it but most of those require at least one USB port on the device. Price is great and is a nice, light computer but basically not worth it unless doing a two computer set-up maybe. Was returned.

I really liked this monitor, but after only a few months, it will not turn on. I checked everything and there is power from the cord, but the monitor itself is not receiving the power any longer and not working. Do not buy!

Did not work right out of the box. Bought this for my son in college across the nation and it did not work. Thanks HP.
Now comes the task of returning it w/o a car.

I am reviewing the HP - 21.5" IPS LED Full HD FreeSync Monitor (HDMI, VGA) - Silver & Black.
The monitor came packaged in a superior carton. Shipped via FedEx, I was a bit concerned about the condition it would be in when it arrived. After unpacking it, all my worries were quickly eliminated. I truly believe the way it is packed, it could withstand a drop from a two or three story building. But I am not going to test that out!
Putting the monitor together was a super easy task. There are absolutely no tools that are needed. HP thought of everything when it came to assembly. The truly outstanding design feature is that the power cord is effectively hidden from view because the cord is designed to run up through the monitor stand itself, and is then covered by an easy-to-insert cover. Actually quite unique and thoughtful.
This monitor required zero setup once it was plugged in and connected to my computer which uses Windows 10.. This monitor is capable of both HDMI and VGA connections. I chose the HDMI. There was literally no adjustments I needed to make via the OS settings.
The real treat came once I turned on my computer, in this case a laptop. This gave me the advantage of being able to compare displays side by side. The differences were remarkable and in some instances quite stunning. The colors on the monitor are so rich and vibrant. The darker colors, especially the blacks and dark grays, are deep and quite realistic. This in conjunction with HP's "HP Eye Ease with Eyesafe®" technology makes the viewing experience quite easy on the eyes. After playing an online game for several hours, I was pleasantly surprised that my eyes suffered extremely little fatigue, and most of what they did experience was due to being up most of the night playing.
Throughout all the uses I have put the HP monitor through, there was zero lag and zero issues with refresh rates. While playing Fortnite I noticed how much more "realistic" the game play was. As I said, the colors displayed are so rich and vibrant, and this becomes even more evident when using it under extreme demands.
There is honestly nothing in this monitor's performance or color delivery that is negative. And the price is unbelievably reasonable. The one and only issue I could come up with is that the HDMI cable was not designed to use the hidden cable tunnel along with the power cord. This is a bit baffling, but it does not take away from the HP's overall performance. This is indeed a top-of-the-line monitor at a bargain price. I would absolutely and highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for the perfect addition to their viewing experience.
Vivid colors in super-thin display panel and bezel

The HP - 21.5" IPS LED Full HD FreeSync Monitor (HP 22f) is a very sleek looking monitor due to its very thin silver aluminum-looking bezels and stand. Most people nowadays are used to larger screens, in the 24” to 27” range. But if you’re on a budget and tight on space, this HP 22f IPS monitor offers full 1080p HD resolution, excellent vivid colors, great viewing angles and a 75Hz refresh rate. It has both an HDMI input and old-school analog VGA connector which comes in handy for older desktops or laptops. Aside from the thin bezels, the display panel itself is also very thin and light, making it easy to quickly move around the house - I like to use it with a small Chromebook in the Kitchen. The <5 lbs weight is in part because there are no speakers built-in and the power supply is an external brick, which is perfectly fine in this price range. All in all, this is a brilliant budget monitor that “punches” above its class.
