Easy to set up. Easy to use. It is compact and the wireless feature makes it easier to place it in a convenient location.

Printers have come a long way in the recent past. I recall waiting for a the printer to "warm up" for what seemed like an eternity. This is not the case anymore. This printers boils down into 3 areas of focus which either need improvement or are out of this park in terms of performance: build, response rate, and long term cost.
The build of this printer is a little on the frail side, I understand that printers are everchanging and there needs to be gives and takes but from what I am experiencing this build is a tad thin or flimsy side. When setting it up I was very hesitant that I was going to crack some of the trays or the outer shell. With that said, nothing ever broke but it does have a "too thin" feel to it. On the benefit side it is light weight... so, a give for a take.
On the response rate side, it seems like this printer is ready to go on a moments notice, even for a Deskjet. And, with paired with the companion app, items can easily be printed without the rigmarole of copy and pasting. The wifi connection of this item also adds the the speed of click to print time, no need to get onto a hard-wired device to print anymore either. All of these items as described, although only reduce seconds to the printing experience do in fact speed up the process ten fold.
Lastly, cost always comes to mind. Firstly, this printer is made of 60% recycled materials, which is technically a cost savings to the planet, but I digress. The ink usage efficiency is top notch, when printing color or B&W. It is noted that a 50% ink savings can be attained when using HP's ink subscription service too. Pairing all of this with its energy savings mode is a recipe to max savings across many different spectrums.
All in all, if you are looking for a light weight, eco-friendly, efficient printer that has a quick "click to print" speed, then this is a great option for you.

I was given a printer last year, which was too difficult for an elderly nonagenarian to use. I bought the HP-Deskjet 4255e Printer, the 3rd HP printer I opted for since 1989. Easy instructions. HP printers make good copies and will always be my choice of brand.

The HP-Deskjet4255e is perfect for home use. It is easy to move from place-to-place and is not overly complicated to use. This is the second HP-Deskjet I have purchased. The first one worked well for four years. The price is quite affordable for the average household. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to the difficulty connecting it to my Wi-Fi.

Good quality HP printing & easy to use. Easy to hook up to WiFi and it maintains the info when you shut the unit off. The Epson WF-2930 that I had bought lost the WiFi info if you turned it off and the procedure to connect WiFi was a real pain. After minimum usage the Epson just burned out on me. I'm happy with my new HP printer, and I've had HP's in the past & will stay with HP in the future.

This is a beautiful printer. But beauty doesn't get tasks done. It's funny that something so large, has very little space for paper. It works really well with the HP Smart app and a wifi connection. I am not crazy about having to get the app on everything I want to print from, but i guess it does keep my printer secure . The instant feeder works great for scanning documents. It's probably my favorite feature as it is rather instantaneous. The control panel works easily enough. Everything is simple enough to understand, even for kids. I still have a huge problem with only having a 60 page paper feeding tray. As far as printing goes. I think is one of the slowest printers I've used in a couple of years. One document can take up to 30 seconds to print. That's really too long. However, the print quality is really nice, but i would also assume the amount of ink needed to complete that task is ungodly. I guess that's a good reason to sign up for free instant ink trial. So you can test the waters of ink consumption. Honestly, i would just say to go but some ink. This isn't small business worthy and it's almost too bulky and slow for a productive home office. If you're not in a rush to get job done or are just in need of backup printer for the student in your life, this'll do.

This review says for 4255e but the directions and book I was given says HP Laserjet 4200e all in one. I do like the product, it certainly much easier to use then what I previous had. I like the size of it because it doesn't take a lot of space.
