Great laptop! Highly Recommend It

Love this laptop! I am on disability and have to be doing something rather than just watch TV. That said, I'm on my laptop pretty much all day every day. The screen is huge and in high definition. It was very easy to retrieve my files, contacts, etc. from "the cloud." I'm not sure I would recommend this laptop if you're on the go with it as its size may be a bit much. But as at-home laptop you can't go wrong. I did compare Apple products in the same price range and other than the coolness factor (I'm 59 and don't give a crap about that) and this laptop gives you so much more bang for your buck. I really like the biometric signin (fingerprint). I highly recommend it. Oh, the people that assisted me at Best Buy were great; patient, knowledgable and friendly.

Outstanding Computer

I was hesitant to replace my laptop that I've had for 8 years but I am so pleased that I purchased a new HP Envy.
First things first; the online application process to build the computer was very easy and had many options in which to choose. The selections have explanations and allow you to compare different options as well. The application alerted when you could bundle two or more item and save. Shipping was quick and able to pick up the items at the store after arrival.
Secondly, the computer is awesome and came with everything I needed. The touch screen takes a little getting used to but it is great to be able to sign documents on the go. This computer is sleek and easy to operate.
Lastly, I would recommend anyone seeking a new or refurbished product to try the online process. HP has some great products and teamed with Geek Squad services, you can't go wrong. The staff in the Texarkana store are friendly, respectful, professional and go out of their way to ensure you have the best service. The computer technicians are very helpful and can be reached by phone during the day and professional services after hours. Thanks for the great service.
Pros: dependable product, in house service, outstanding customer service, great deals

AWESOME LAPTOP with 1 Minor Hitch

This laptop is a BEAST! The hitch isn't a deal-breaker but it does interfere with the reason I chose this model. It's everything I wanted with an empty HDD bay so I can install my own personal hard drive. When I tried to do so, the internal SATA connector was missing. After a lot of due diligence, I was informed by HP that this model doesn't come with this, otherwise, normal part. I was even told that this part isn't included in the $1349.99 price tag! Really? Something that's normally inside all computers (nowadays) isn't included in a premium product? HP dropped the ball on this one. As of this review, I have yet to find the part that works. They are out there but the 1 I tried didn't work. I'm still looking for it though. That said, this laptop is nothing short of amazing for power & performance if you aren't looking to install your own hard drive. I've included pics of the missing part.

I purchased this laptop after the screen my brand new laptop that I purchased two weeks prior randomly went out. That laptop was of a different brand and from Costco. I was in need of a laptop for graduate school/law school, so I was distraught that the screen on my other laptop went out after only 2 weeks at the start of the semester, but this one saved my life! I love how big the screen is and it runs flawlessly, even over a year later. I’ve never had any issues with it and it’s perfect for multitasking. It’s not super lightweight, but it’s not unnecessarily heavy either, so it can fit in a bigger backpack or large purse.

I've been researching computers for almost 2 weeks now and I have kept coming back to add this to my cart but didn't pull the trigger. I am very happy with this purchase. The screen is very clear and bright, its very fast and has a beautiful upscale design. This isn't the computer to be laying in bed working.... but that may be a good thing:)

I have had this laptop for one day and I am so far loving it. I always love a larger display and this screen seems massive and I just can't stop staring at it. Can't say much long term but HP is usually my go-to for personal laptops so I have high hopes for this device.

I gave this laptop 3 stars. The laptop is fine but the charger pack I have problem with. When my grand daughters play Roblox, the Charger pack gets really HOT. I would have to unplug it until it cools down. Very annoying!
Any suggestions on what to do?

Basically I purchased this laptop due to COVID and the fact that most businesses in the future (and currently) will allow a work from home situation. The system is fast, the 12GB RAM REALLY makes a difference when you have 7 different applications going at the same time, and the transfer back to an already open and running program is flawless. The NVIDIA video card that comes with this thing is a BEAST and you have the option to cycle and use the on board intel graphics chipset, or the NVIDIA which I highly recommend. The only negative downside to this and basically every other higher end laptop, is if you run the thing constantly with 80%+ brightness and with the graphics accelerator kicked to the max, you are going to run out of battery, and fast. If you travel a lot, be sure and always have you a rechargeable battery pack handy because you will be using it. I primarily use the touchpad for my mouse but could see how using the touchscreen display may drain the battery further also. Will all of this being said, you can not beat the graphics card and the beautiful ultra 4K resolution that this laptop is capable of producing. Absolutely beautiful and flawless in terms of processing speed etc etc.
SIDENOTE: Don’t go sticking your nose anywhere it doesn’t belong, this version of Windows has some type of Backdoor or way to access it remotely even with the use of Trend Micro(which is one of Best Buy’s recommmendations) whomever, or WHATEVER took control over my pc was unlike anything I’ve ever saw before in my life (Been in the computer game since a kid dialing up AOL on a 56k model...). Just be cautious bc crypto hackers are willing and ready to pounce on a machine with the capabilities that this unit has. They could be “mining” for Bitcoin in the background and unless you pulled up Task Manager, you’d never even know it was occurring. I had to do a master reset once and completely erase everything I had on the unit in the process (which wasn’t much). All in all, if you’re debating on buying this laptop whatsoever, I would definitely go for it. Unless you wanna spend a couple grand on a “gaming computer”, which actually this one itself could be used for, scoop this laptop up. You will not be disappointed.

I picked up this laptop as a replacement for my 15.6" envy 360. The screen size is perfect. The backlit keyboard is nice for typing in dim light. As far as speed, so far it has handled whatever I throw at it with ease. I run some music production software with 5 tabs on google chrome in the back with no slowing down. This is a great laptop for light software usage, internet browsing, and documents. If you are a student, small business owner, or just enjoy seamless browsing, I would definitely recommend this laptop for you.

great laptop for the price, looks on the fancy side , and it is fast enough [ still not a gaming laptop] , great for home or office use despite being a 17+ inch screen, it boots up real fast, has enough memory to store whats needed, if you have problems with the storage, can always use external ssd like i do. the only one thing missing [for my needs] was the dvd drive, which i bought an external one to use, still a great laptop.
i hope it will last like my old hp pavilion .

After researching laptops for a couple months, I settled on this HP Envy. It has not disappointed. It is blazing fast, the keyboard is way more comfortable than my 15" HP and the screen resolution is outstanding! I've had the computer for almost a month now and I haven't had any issues with any hardware or software. This thing is blazing fast. The backlit keyboard is perfect in low light, although I did realize it looks better in daylight with the backlight off. Duh! LOL. If you are on the fence and wondering whether or not this one is for you, I don't think you will be disappointed. Pull the trigger!!

I waited for this to go on sale before I bought it. As with any new device it takes some getting used to. I had to disable my phone capability on the device because when someone would call me while I was working on the computer, the screen would turn blue and I would get the Oh Snap message and the whole device needed to be scanned. Other than that, which bums me out, I like the computer. It is fast, easy to use, and the touch feature is nice.

This replaced an HP Envy that was used heavily for 3 years. The SSD died on that one. I liked that one so much I replaced it with another. 2 things keep it from getting 5 stars. 1. The speaker volume is quite low. Fortunately, I have a Sony bluetooth wireless speaker. 2. My Ceppekyy H01 bluetooth earbuds will not connect. I have other bluetooth devices connected so I am not sure what this issue is.
Performance is great! I do wish it had the 1TB SSD that my other one did.

This laptop is great. It's quick and fast and it has not so far overheated on me. I love the touch screen as well as the keypads. its huge screen helps you get more done. the price is fair for the quality of the laptop. in my opinion, I would recommend this to someone who wants a MacBook but doesn't want to pay Apple prices.

I am really a Mac girl and bought this PC so i can have something compatible for work when working from home. I love the feature to turn off camera on device for security. The 17” screen is a good size for multiple windows when working at a compact physical space. The areas that could improve is sometimes it’s difficult to see the keyboard because, although it is lit to show the outline of the keys, the lettering and images are practically the same color as the whole laptop...which makes it a pain when trying to work fast. I know where the keys are but it is still frustrating to not be able to see and have to fumble for the volume, brightness, or print screen. Also, I HATE that there is no light indicating CAPLOCK and NUMLOCK. That’s really important when typing in passwords!

Workhorse without a disc!

As with all my HP machines, I am very satisfied with my ENVY 17! It is fast, efficient, and a confident workhorse! The only thing I miss is the disc drive. I had to call a number of the software manufacturers that I have purchased discs from, and don't have downloadable versions on their websites, for downloads. I had to repurchase photoshop, as my version was out of date and they were unwilling accommodate me due to the disc issue (BUSINESS!!! SMH!!!). Needless to say, I was less than enthusiastic about this. Otherwise, I love this machine and would recommend it a thousand, WELL, 999, times over. Give me a disc drive HP, and you'll get that 1000! The only other thing I would say is it was a tad pricey. I ask not score of it was pandemic pricing, but several hundred dollars more than I paid for my wife's ENVY 17 in February (WITH a disc)!
