The first one of these I had only lasted about 2 months. When I brought it back Best Buy would not replace it and I had to buy a second. That one so far is on month 2 we will see what happens. When it works the image is great. When it doesn’t , it just doesn’t.

This review is for the 27" QHD HP Omen gaming monitor. Aside from the 2560 by 1440 resolution, this monitor's big selling point is supporting both AMD Freesync and Nvidia G-sync. Unboxing is pretty straightforward. The relatively lightweight (under 20lbs) monitor is well packaged, coming in a box almost large enough to hold two of the monitors and well anchored in another box supported by foam. It looks sleek in black and confusingly almost square looking despite clearly qualifying as a widescreen monitor. My standard dual monitor configuration has a "normal" 27" monitor in portrait and a 28 inch one in widescreen. The widescreen aspect ratio is a bit long which makes remote desktop a pain as neither screen scales 1080p content well. Having more vertical space and a squared aspect ratio not only works better for this but makes the two monitors physically line up better which makes working across the two screens nicer in a way I did not anticipate. Input wise, there's one displayport, two HDMI, and a USB hub with two USB-A ports along with a USB-B and cable to connect to your computer. Being relatively minimalist, no built in speakers but it's own stand. You can adjust the height a bit, tilt the screen forward or back as well as rotating from portrait to landscape (ha). No side to side on the stand, so you'd need to actually rotate the stand. Video game quality was decent. The monitor behaved well, no rendering artifacts or excessive blur (beyond what the game actually generates purposefully). Details seemed crisp and the screen was bright. The on-screen menu was easy to use and move through adjustments. That said, I did encounter a couple issues. First is with matching the screen brightness and color temperature to my portrait monitor, I struggled getting what I felt was a good match. One screen just always looked either brighter or bluer than the other. It feels like there isn't as much adjustment range with the Omen. The other issue showed up when watching a movie on the monitor. Yes, it's a gaming monitor but inevitably, it will due triple duty on such machines - gaming, work, and media consumption. For the latter, detail in dark scenes seem to wash out which I'm thinking may be a side effect of another range limitation - this in contrast ratio. So in short, basic, not feature rich, does a decent job as a gaming monitor but struggles with movies and may not match well with a different monitor.

Hard to argue there is a better bang for buck monitor. love it.

Easy to set up physically. I had to look up information on the internet to make sure I had all the correct things enabled in windows and the game I play. Love how easy it is to slide the monitor up and down. Since I switch between standing and sitting frequently this is important to me.

For 90% of pc gamers this Monitor will perform great.

A good product worth buying. You really cannot find something at this price better than this when it is on sale.

not the best hdr/local dimming, and blacks are a bit gray great response time and input latency, and good bright room performance accent light on the back is a nice little touch

I’ve been using the monitor for about a month or so now and I use it for school and gaming and it’s been nothing but great the stand is sturdy and adjustable. Overall I’d say I made a good choice with this monitor I’d recommend it

240 FPS on youtube and movies, as well as consistent frames on any A-List game for PC, only a few games will do 120 HZ on PS5.

Colors out of the box weren't good but changing to the native mode setting made it look great. Super satisfied with this monitor.
