This computer is somewhat of mixed bag; while it performs beautifully when playing games t 1080p, bumping up the resolution a bit can cause some noticeable slowdown in some games. This is somewhat surprising, given that the machine is sporting an 8400F Ryzen CPU and a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, but I think the RAM the 5060 is outfitted with (kind of a stingy 8 GB) might be the culprit. But if you can overlook ultra-high resolution in your gaming setup, this machine doesn't disappoint. And it runs cool as well. I was a little bit worried that the desktop would miss out on fancier cooling systems that are featured in the more expensive models in this line, but what's included here is more than adequate. I had no trouble keeping the CPU within tolerable temperature limits. The computer is also reasonably quiet. The fans powering the cooling system do not produce the kind of jet-engine-taking-off racket that so many gaming PCs do. One great feature is the inclusion of a number of parts that have standardized dimensions. You don't need to worry so much about getting the matching part from HP directly if you have to replace something. We all know of at least one gaming PC manufacturer out there that inflates the price of machine-specific components, but that's less of an issue with this desktop. RGB lighting is tasteful and easy to control from the home screen. You also get lighting that highlights the build of the chassis and gives it almost stoic accents. I can't speak for others, but RGB lighting that resembles a 60s psychedalia display doesn't really do it for me. One negative, though this is sadly consistent for HP - there is some bloat preloaded on the computer. Make sure to sign up for updates, special services, renew your anti-virus, etc. Yeesh. You can uninstall most of it, but it's annoying to deal with this nonsense on a high-end machine. And this is, despite its performance limitations, a high-end machine. HP knew who it wanted to target with this configuration and does a good job of it - people who want to get in to PC gaming but don't know where to start. The Ryzen chip is pretty powerful, and as long as gamers don't want or need the highest of resolutions, they'll be more than happy. Strongly recommended for new PC gamers. And the machine is cute, too!
