This laptop was the best priced product I could find that included a larger screen size for watching movies, decent speakers, and good speed. Everything I needed without breaking my bank....however, I am not a fan of Windows 8.

I bought this product after returning a dell insperon 15.6" (an absolutely aweful laptop). This laptop has no disappointed me yet. I am using it as a secondary laptop for minor tasks and some light graphic design work, and it runs fast and can handle it. Considering the price point, this is significantly better than other available laptops in its bracket. Pros: Fast, Cheap, Practical Design, Easy to Use, Intel i5, 6gb of ram, Lightweight, Large 17.3" Screen. Neutral: Not Touch Screen Cons: Windows 8, Not a 1920 x 1280 display (Max is 1600x900) A lot of extra hp programs preinstalled.

I purchased the HP Pavilion 17.3" laptop computer to replace an older HP laptop that was ready to crash. The reason I chose this particular laptop is that I wanted a large screen and a CD/DVD drive at a reasonable price. This laptop is amazing! It has a fantastic screen large enough to easily open two documents side-by-side. I was surprised that in spite of the size, it is still easily transportable and very light weight. This computer is very responsive and easy to work with. One recommendation I would make if purchasing this laptop is to also purchase a cordless mouse. I wouldn't want to be without it. I'm very happy with my new laptop!

I've only been using it for about a month, but I really like it so far. Has fantastic speed when performing large tasks (such as running scans, downloading large picture files, etc.) I only wish it came with Microsoft Office pre-installed, like other computers have in the past. It stinks having to pay an additional $100+ in order to open my documents. The screen froze on me a few times (i.e., unable to move cursor, switch screens, etc.) when I first got it, it but has since been running fine. The screen size is awesome, and I can view my photographs much more easily than I could on my previous laptop.

I bought this for my spouse for email, online shopping, etc. She likes the larger size of the 17.3 inch screen compared to the 15.6 inch screen on her previous laptop. She only uses it around the house so the larger size is no problem. It is fast enough for her needs. Before purchasing this I bought an all-in-one with an AMD E1 processor that was too slow? I returned that and purchased this for $479 and now she is happy.

I needed a laptop as I was leaving my job and had to give back theirs. So I figured I'd get something good, with a nice scream for movies and such. After careful consideration and valuable input from Best Buy personnel, I came home with this HP. And I couldn't be happier. Does it have a big screen? Yup. Actually 7.3" WLED-backlit high-definition display with BrightView technology and 1600 x 900 resolution. And Beats Audio? Yup. What else? Intel Core i5, 6GB memory, 750GB hard drive, DVD±RW/CD-RW drive, 6.23 lbs./1.09" thin.

Although I love the large screen, the laptop is rather bulky and sometimes difficult to use for anything other than on a desk. I wanted to convenience of a laptop so I could use around the house, but it's size is rather inconvenient. However, I probably would not change my decision because I use it to edit pictures, and the large screen really comes in handy. It took some getting used to the setup for Windows 8.

I purchased this Pavilion as a replacement for my ancient TouchSmart All In One Desktop. With a 17.5 inch screen, 6 Gig Ram, i5 processor, 750 Gig DH, what more could a person need? I use it for Internet searches, Ebay, YouTube, printing information, etc. I use to consider myself a say computer nerd. Believing I was pretty hip to the latest and greatest operating systems. These days I'm not sure what's the best, fastest, quality, etc.. I've owned this laptop for about 2 wks now - it runs just fine and is a heck if a lot faster than my old dinosaur. Maybe it's just me but I find that during multitasking - with 3-4 windows open on the Internet, and maybe I get idea to view a video from my GOPRO recordings, which have been downloaded onto the massive 750 Gig HD. I find that the laptop lags a bit more than I had expected from a new laptop! Yes, I know I'm running 3-4 Internet browser windows and a video, right?! I'm not complaining I am just surprised that it lags in such a fashion! The laptop responds to the commands but is just a bit slow to get you there. There is no "BLUETOOTH" capabilities, my own fault for not noticing. The software bundle is quite nice - videoing software allows you to record video and immediately upload it to Facebook, Youtube, etc! Screen is nice and picture quality is great! Keyboard is a bit awkward for me..I feel like I'm reaching a bit for the keys, it is a larger base so my hands feel like I have to support them! Overall - A decent Laptop for what I paid - $479.00.

This laptop was purchased for my son. He primarily uses it for playing Minecraft. The only negative was the keyboard isn't great for that game, so we opted for an external keyboard and monitor. A much cheaper option than a comparable desktop.

I love this computer. It was very reasonably priced and has all the basic features needed for personal use and a home office. Processing speed is fast and there is ample storage capacity. The 17 inch screen is nice for viewing everything, although the size makes it less useful for portability.

While I am not a big fan of Windows 8.1, it is working fine. The laptop is working well and was easy to set up. Did have an issue at the beginning but HP support handled that well.

Have used HP products in the past and this one is another in a great line--love the big screen, enough resolution for most gaming and is it fast! Wife is very happy with not having it 'bog down' under heavy use, and it holds all her pictures and documents, too---couldn't be happier!

I bought this for my mother for Christmas. SHe has really enjoyed using it. It was easy for a non computer tech savy person to learn how to use it and the large screen size was really ideal for the viewing impaired.

This laptop is a dream for the amount I paid for it. The size of the screen is just what I need and Dre's beats audio for speakers makes it that much more of a great buy. I am truly happy with the price, the laptop, and service I received.

I bought this as our primary home computer, so it's mostly for internet browsing and a little work. Plenty of power for that, and the large screen is great when the kids are watching something like a movie on it. Great for the price!!

My New Ho Laptop is great. It was easy to setup, have great speed for my needs. It has a DVD which I use. The only thing I can say that was just ok is MicroSoft 8. It is cumbersome. All and all I am very satisfied with the product.

This laptop great. I love the large screen. It's a bit big if you are looking for something to bring everywhere. But if you need a computer that does everything your desktop does, but can join you on the road, this one is great.
