This convertible replaces one that was stolen so I'm really reviewing the convertible but now with the "cool" pen. It is lightweight and extremely portable. You might want a CD/DVD writer. I also got a USB hub since there is only one. A BT mouse is a cheap investment ($20) while you adapt to the pen. It is fast and you can use it like a tablet, a screen for viewing videos in the tent configuration or a "regular" laptop. Battery life is OK for my purposes... more than 12 hours. Great product, highly recommended.

I purchased this laptop for its lightweight portability and great features. It’s ultra slim and the 2-in-1 makes it’s easy to go from laptop mode to tablet. The pen is also nice even though I don’t use it much I still love how smooth it writes. The speakers are amazing compared to my other hp pavilion. The only con is I wish it had two usb-a ports and hdmi which comes on the bigger model but not this one.

It's super fast - I never knew how nice it would be to have it boot up and be on email in under 10 seconds. And the facial recognition entry works well and is a real convenience, as is the touchscreen. Also quite sturdy - like an Apple. The only defect is that when you click on something it doesn't always take. and since this happens a fair bit it is very annoying, though is more than offset by the positives. The touchscreen feature is helpful in getting the cursor to where you want it to be.

I have been using my HP Spectre x360 13 for about 1 month now and i am very happy with my purchase.
Pros:
1. Fast SSD. Boot time is 8 secs with facial recognition. It copied a 14 GB folder in about 2 min.
2. Good battery life. I am having like 9 hours of battery life doing web surfing with 25% brightness. No battery drain issue when shut-down.
3. Great trackpad, keyboard, speakers and screen. Track pad is very responsive and has no issues with gestures. Keyboard fells great and has very well placed keys. The speakers are loud and have good sound quality, you can also adjust the configuration. Screen has excellent resolution, brightness is good and i fell comfortable using it at 25%-50%. Finally, touchscreen is very responsive and it works smooth with the pen.
4. Design and built quality. Built quality is excellent and it looks great. Laptop is very lightweight and the dimensions make it very portable.
Cons:
1. Fan noise. Sometimes can get loud
2. Heat. The area above the keyboard can get hot sometimes.
3. Lack of ports. Fortunately this unit has two thunderbolt ports so i have no issues solving this problem by buying for $22 bucks a USB-C to HDMI and USB adapter.
If this laptop could handle a little better the heat and fan noise this would be the perfect laptop. Meanwhile this situations don't ocurr very often i don't think this issues are a dealbreaker. I think this is an amazing laptop and i am very very happy with the overall performance of the HP because is fast, well designed, portable and very versatile.

I spent a lot of time researching laptops and looking for one that ticked all the boxes for me. The bottom line was, the computer that had everything didn't exist. Here was my list of wants:
1. 3 lbs or less
2. excellent display (wanted better than FHD)
3. longer than average battery life
4. 7th gen Intel i7 (not the lower end chips)
5. 512G or better SSD
6. Sufficient ports (I wanted a SD card slot, an HDMI output, at least one "old" USB and at least one USB-C with Thunderbolt)
7. Comfortable keyboard
In the end, I had give up some of the native ports and my better than FHD screen but this HP ticks all the other boxes (and if the nice screen trumps battery life for you, there is a 4K version of this machine I think). I actually really love the keyboard, perfect travel and "clickiness" for me. The screen is sufficient, the battery life is 8-10 hours for me working on word processing, web surfing, remote desktop etc. It's very very thin and very light, and the power brick is also small and light (which no one ever counts as part of the computer weight, but you have to carry it right?) I bought a slightly pricier "dock" to accommodate the missing ports for me.

This computer is sturdy yet still light. The battery lasts all day using typical applications (onenote, Edge etc.) The touchscreen works nicely and it rarely confuses my hand and the included pen; there is no lag between the contact of the pen with screen like there is in some other tablets/hybrids. The lack of an HDMI and SD card port is a pain, but that's nothing a USB C dongle can't fix.

I bought this laptop in Oct 2017 (just over two months ago). It is a significant upgrade from a very old desktop. The 16 gb RAM is probably too much for my current needs. Perhaps 8 GB would do for what I use this - mostly productivity / MS stuff. The SSD drive is superfast -coming from the old hard drive. The fan is noticeable but just be sure to allow the hot air to go out unobstructed and the fan will turn off. I like the weight - superlight. The screen is beautiful and an upgrade to me! I like the flexibility of using a pen but I haven't used it much over the past two months, except to try it out in the first few weeks. As a precaution, I make sure that I backup regularly and I also bought the Geek Squad protection. Very happy with my purchase so far. I also like Best Buy's price match program and received a good price for the laptop.

I bought this laptop for my wife and she has been extremely satisfied with it after using it for the past 2 months. We opted for an open box purchase and the laptop was very well packed and looked as good as new upon opening. The delivery date was as quoted on the invoice. Initially, there were a few problems with the Skype performance (camera captured everything b/w) and with the windows lock-screen, but they resolved on their own. I would put this down to constant tinkering by Microsoft with windows 10 features, which cause these glitches. The battery life is excellent. The touch-responsiveness is also smooth. And due to its low-weight, it does not feel difficult to maneuver when used as a tablet.

This machine is extremely fast. The price is a bit spicy but it is worth every penny. Only fault in my view is that it has only one USB port but an accessory with multi ports took care of it.

I had already purchased this laptop for myself and I was so happy with it I decided t purchase another fro my wife. The first one I brought home from her has many issues out of the box straight from HP, loose hinges and track pad. So I exchanged it for another. The second one does not have any of those issue however I did notice the fan on my wife's is louder than mine (which is a commonly reported problem for this model). Mine is very quiet. But that aside all is well now. Very happy with this laptop as it is very performant and very portable.

I bought this computer to replace a computer that I just loved. I was worried after reading so many reviews about how hot this one gets as well as how loud the fan is during operation. What I did notice is that in the first month of owning this laptop, I did notice a few times where it got hot, as well as a couple times where the fan seemed to get louder and louder over the period of a few minutes, I haven't really noticed it even once since then. I don't notice any issues with this laptop and any accidental pushing of mouse pad. I love the backlight keyboard's light purple hue. This is a great purchase and the only big issues I see with it is that it only has one USB port so I Immediately purchased a Targus adapter that allows my computer to use 4 ports rather than just one. There are some strange quirky things that I'm assuming that I just haven't figured out yet such as each and every time my pointer hovers over any area where I could click on an email or website to reach a new page, the entire web address pops up where my pointer is toggled. Super irritating and I plan on taking this to Best Buy to figure out. All and all, I'm happy and love how lightweight it is. It is also so thin that I feel like its as portable as a tablet but as functional as a full size laptop.

I decided to get a lighter laptop in expectation of some work travel to customer sites. As a developer i need something that will be powerful enough for me to code/develop on but at the same time be lighter and with a longer battery life than my current laptop. I also wanted a 2-n-1 for demo purposes to the customer - so this did limit my choices
I elected to go to the HP Spectre x360 because it was indeed light, 2-n-1 frame, reported good battery life - 512 GB SSD
Overall - a good laptop
I have never been fond of Laptop keyboards - but they suffice in an emergency (like on the plane).
It does have 1 USB 3.0 port - which comes in hand for external devices (I use a port replicator)
Why isn't this an Excellent laptop?
There are times when it generates a lot of heat (which is a commonly reported thing) I am sure to keep the laptop slightly elevated as to not restrict airflow - but it does spin up hot sometimes.
HP decided to create a D:\ partition - to hold their recovery software - and they locked this partition down - unfortunately - I needed the D:\ partition (for my Development work) - so basically I had to 'hack' the laptop to delete that partition so i could get it back for my own purposes.

No words to describe it! It's a conversation piece, and a delight to use. Fast, crisp clear display, keyboard is a pleasure to use, light and thin as a feather. Battery last a very, very long time. Pen works beautifully in tablet mode, and the 13" screen feels bigger than it is and is very comfortable to work in. All laptops should be like this -- makes you want to work :). However, gets a little hot when running full antivirus scan, and serious business user need to get external DVD writer and a LAN Hub with HDMI adapter.

Love this laptop, I bought it cause of the memory size and disk space, it is really fast, love the face recognition feature and the windows ink. The slick design is really nice, keyboard is great too; so many nice features.
It did get very hot right out of the box and the fan was working non stop but I researched and did a couple of small changes to the installed software and now it runs cool and fan barely turns on even with a bunch of Chrome tabs and several programs running

This laptop has been such an amazing purchase. I was reluctant at first because my previous laptop wasn't that old. But man I tell you, this thing is fast!! Everything is fast. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. I was tempted by the 4K but wanted the better battery life. No problem at all because the screen is awesome to look at. Plenty bright as well. Keyboard is great to type on as well. Great key travel, backlit, and joy to use. This is not a fanless design but I rarely ever here it. Now, I mainly do casual web browsing and I never hear the fan. Very impressive. It never gets hot as well.
Overall, this laptop has been a great purchase. I was tempted to return just because I didn't really need a new laptop but this thing is just too much of a joy to you. Fast, very lightweight, thin, still includes a full sized usb port.
Only thing I wish it had was HDMI, but it has two thunderbolt ports. This is the future and I'll get use to it.

I had been looking for a laptop for quite some time and I finally decided to bite the bullet once I started school. I wanted something that was light-weight, with a long battery life, and powerful enough for multitasking and media consumption, but still affordable.
I looking into many options, I had my eye on the Razer Blade Stealth for awhile but decided on the HP Spectre X360 after having some hand on time. The HP Spectre hit all my requirements (the update is just around the corner so they are on sale!) and then some. In particular, its versatility, a factor that I was not considering, became a major selling point - I have used most of the modes available (except tent mode - I still haven't found a great use of it yet). The ability to write on the screen has been more useful than I had expected and has quickly become my preferred way of taking reading notes.
Overall, it is a great laptop the only reason why I don't give it five stars is that there is an audible static sound that comes from the computer when it is on, this could just have been mine. It is not a major issue but in quite rooms, it can quickly become annoying - it is one of those things that once you hear it you can't un-hear it.

I think this is a really great ultrabook. It looks and feels nice and is very lightweight. I've had positive battery use with it, never really timed it (as I am using this for general personal use, not all day business use) but often will go days using the same charge. Find the keyboard quite easy and comfortable and like the sleeve that came with it. Overall a great purchase.

Bought it as a birthday gift for my wife and she loved it.
Specially the design ultra-thin aluminum body (yes, maybe mimics MacBook Air but done with class).
Super fast on and off as any RAM based memory Drive.
Recommed despite of the high price for those looking for performance, portability and great design on an Windows based laptop.
