I read a lot of specs of various brands and found about 60% of freezers are not recommended to be used in such conditions. Insignia came up on a number of my online searches and the specs and reviews seemed favorable, and the price was very good, so I ordered it online through Best Buy to be picked-up at the store - no delivery charges and quick availability. Install was simple... it fit perfectly where my old freezer was, and it reached 0 degrees in less than 2 hours, so I could load up pretty quickly. almost one month ... no issues

Chest freezer works Great!

When I finally got a generator to hook up to it, the freezer pulls very low watts. So I'm able to run other appliances off my generator. Excellent cheap freezer. Holds a whole cow of beef with room to spare!

The freezer isn’t a monster energy sucker and has worked beautifully! We do get some door frost on the hinge side but the kid and wife are always rooting through the freezer for something leaving the door open for what I consider to be an extended time, so I think it’s pretty normal as far as chest freezers go. With our other freezer we used to have to chip the darn ice off! No more real worries! I didn’t purchase it for the basket it came with, so I could care less about that. The wife on the other hand wished more baskets were included...meh... Very pleased with this purchase.

I have now 3 of them. the top was smashed at the section where you put your fingers in to open it. The unit works good. I open it by putting 2 fingers in the area where you put your fingers in to open it and grab left side to open I decided not to make a sting about it, things happen during shipping. the unit works good and i work around the damage done during shipping.
