Works but limited and obsolete.

If buying another I would stick with the brand but look for a faster charging hub with a longer cable that gave me more flexibility in the setup.

Good inexpensive USB hub

We got the 2.0 because I read that 3.0 can interfere with wireless dongles. So far so good, a wireless mouse and a wired backlit keyboard (so it presumably is able to pass a fair amount of power through) have worked great with it.
