It is what it is...a hub. No rainbows or unicorns

Blue LED light is a nice extra to let you know its working. Bought this to hook KB / Mouse / Printer to all one port on laptop to save time instead of having to plug in each one, and it frees up ports for HD drives / iPad / Phone / etc.

I purchased this hub to provide more ports. It has worked seamlessly without any reduction in access speed.

I misread the description. This is a unit that plugs into a computer to give you more places to plug in peripherals. It will be useful to me, but I still need one that will plug into electrical outlets to charge devices.

Perfect for the small laptop

Lots of things only require 2.0 connectivity, like keyboards, mice, some external drives, external sound cards, etc.

It is not powered, though (which would make it not so useful as a portable device), but I was not able to actually charge some devices - it did keep the device(s) operational, but never charged them.

For a keyboard and mouse, it's perfect, but I wouldn't use it for large data transfers.
