It's a USB hub! It works, it's USB 3.0, so it works with newer accessories. It provides a fast connection for hooking up external hard drives to my Mac Mini.

Bought this for my work laptop as it only has 3 usb ports. I am able to use a scanner (which uses 2 of the ports), mouse, and charge my phone with no issues.

I was trying to get a powered USB 3.0 hub, and this one works very well, the only problem is that the cable to connect the hub to the computer is kind of short

Needed a hub for my MacBook and read good reviews on this prior to my purchase. Have 2 external drives attached to this with no problems. Can't go wrong with Insignia brand. Would recommend.

I buy this hub for every computer I have! This was my 3rd purchase. Got my first one 2 years ago and still use it daily.

if you need extra usb 3.0 slots this is a great item. though it does have a separate power plug in it does offload power needs from your computer.

Not only does this work well if you’re out of USB ports on your PC, but this also comes with a power cord to use for just normal charging of USB devices

Works as described, easy plug in no real set up needed. Would buy another if the need arises.

Very useful -- I plugged in 2 external hard drives and a flash drive. No issues whatsoever.

Does its job as a USB 3 hub, but there are issues when using with the Xbox One. It doesn't always recognize the devices attached (ext. hard drive, Disney Infinity base, Lego Dimensions base) unless they are unplugged/replugged.

Needed an emergency replacement for a hub that went bad and this one was perfect.

I needed a hub for basic use, but wanted USB3 support for the future. This hub was availably same day, and for a decent price. Seems to work fine, but I have not evaluated its high speed performance.

I use it to add more usb ports to my Gaming Computer. it works with my keyboard and headphones and there is no noticeable lag what so ever.

Meets my expectations price was very good. Have tried cheaper adapter but poor performance. With the power supply added performance improvement.

Great addition to the mac mini. It is used to extend keyboard and mouse to different side of the room.

Easy to install, fast usb speeds, this little extension is awesome and just what I needed to plug in phone chargers and peripherals. A++++

This hub works great. I use it so I don't have to reach behind my computer all the time to use my usb 3.0 devices.

My new PC was lacking a few 3.0 USB ports for my peripherals. This additional hub helps spread that extra 3.0 for fast transfer speeds!

Functions exactly as it is supposed to. Have no problem with it and I think it looks a little Slicker on the desk then some others I've used in the past
