Bought this for grandma's room almost 8 months ago, and no complaints. Works great! Don't forget to get the HDMI cable.

My 42 Insignia turns on by itself too. It started at 3am 2 weeks after the purchase date. 15 day return policy, how cute. Insignia advised resetting TV back to factory default. I did and now the TV has turned itself on every 45 min. I was asked to monitor the problem. Next step Geek Squad visit, then probably exchange for another. I don't want this TV anymore, but stuck with it. Buyer beware!

I bought one of these last holiday. I had great expectations on this but did not prove to be up to my expectations. The picture clarity is not up to the mark. I saw better picture quality in other brands.

I purchased this tv for my father in law 2 years and 3 months ago. I got it back 3 months ago, plugged in the cable and all was well. 2 months later, only the power light illuminated - no action past that. I called customer service and was told it was probably the power card. Drat! That didn't help! It was then suggested I replace the main board or turn it over to the Geek Squad who wanted $280. New main board? Shucks! No go as well. I'm not the only one who has gone through the same experience - check other consumer review sites. If you don't mind buying this set (I paid right at $500 with tax) and only being able to use it for less than 3 years, it's perfect for you!
