    This device does the job, although it may have had a glitch. I unplugged it and replugged it and that seemed to fix it.

    This satisfies my need for a hard ethernet connection. It allows me to connect my laptop to an ethernet cable and bypass wireless. While wireless is my common use for internet connect, this wired link allows me to speed up video uplink/downlink to the internet when large content files needs transmission. There are time that the wireless link slow transfer rates are prohibitive, and hardlink is appropriate.
