This is the one, I've had so mamy robot vacuums over the years and they've always been flawed, all brands, all of them! This Roomba Max 705 nailed it though. Out of the box it's a sharp looking robot vacuum, nice and slick, piano black and matte black accents. The charging dock with the bagged canister isnt much deeper than one without the canister. Get it fired up, charged, app installed and start the mapping process. First be sure to pick up any obstacles that aren't common or have a normal spot in the house and are out of place. It will cruise around and get a digital blueprint of the house. The app is pretty cool and simple to use, once mapping is done, you can set up scheduled automation, days, times, suction power, rooms and the amount of passes. For instance I run a Tuesday and Thursday automation that vacuums the areas of the house that are constantly in use, one pass with medium suction. I run another autimation for Saturday with every room on the list, high suction for carpeted areas and a double pass. You can also press play on the bot to go to town, or you can tell google or alexa (once set up) to have your Roomba clean a particular room. It does a great job and leaces perfect brush lines in your carpet. Love it! Everyone needs this vac!!

Our recently purchased Roomba Max 705 vacuums our ~2500 square foot house in ~10-12 hours when operating in the "smart" clean mode. During this time, it can stop and return to the docking port to empty itself out around 6 times. It can stop and return to the docking port to recharge itself around 3 times. Usually, but not always, the recharging occurs when the Roomba is already docked for, and has completed, emptying itself. The mapping it uses is not perfect, but does reasonably well. The algorithms it follows for cleaning relative to this mapping are not always self-evident, with some revisits to certain rooms and scant attention to others. It transitions well between hard floors and carpeting and manages to persevere even on relatively thick carpeting. We don't yet have experience emptying the docking port or cleaning/replacing vital components on the Roomba itself -- so stay tuned.

Robot portion of this is good, and the improvements to the iRobot app for mapping and controlling are great. The LiDAR tower does make it significantly taller though, and this one won't fit where my older model Roombas would. Seems to clean well, though only 3 runs so far, and it hasn't quite learned to go to the edges of some areas yet. The main reason for dropping stars is the self-emptying parts. The jet-turbine-loud vacuum in the canister is obnoxious. I would rather empty the robot myself than hear that thing, so will definitely be using the app/Alexa to set up cleaning for when no one is home.

I really love my 705 Max combo, this replaced an S9 for an all carpet space. if you're looking for a pure vacuum robot that can really clean deep this sits in high regard with some of the best. Dual rollers , high suction power and no mops means the carpet's don't get wet but you get great performance. iRobot's lineup finally gets a new app and lidar this year and it's greatly appreciated, navigation is great, it cleans the whole room easily . Obstacle avoidance is Aldo good, it avoids dog toys easily. I have 2 German Shepards and a chocolate lab which is basically a worst case scenario for any robot but no problems with clogging or performance on the max 705. when it's on sale for $549-599 this is a good buy

We love our Roomba. We use this daily in our home to help pick up dust, hair, and dirt that is tracked in and out of our home. We couldn’t be more satisfied that it self dumps and recalibrates to its last location to finish its clean! If you’re looking my for an extra hand this is it!

This is my fourth robot vacuum, and by far the best. Maps quickly and does an excellent job. Does not yum into everything as it works. Knows exactly when to stop, turn etc. Would definitely recommend.

I have had this brand before. The previous models were a little more simple. No real compliant but I wish they could do a little more. Setting up this robot vacuum was pretty simple. I took off the all the plastics and and attached the three armed brush. It was a simple lining up and pushing it in. It did get caught on a rough and came loose but I think I snapped it on wrong. It hasn’t come loose in a while so I’m good there. Downloading the app and connecting the app to the robot vacuum took no time at all but make sure your WiFi is on and strong. The very first thing it will ask you to do is to layout where you want it to vacuum. To me this sets the tone of your review because if you don’t get this write them the vacuum won’t be able to do its job correctly and you might this is broke or not a good product. So make sure you home is clear and free of toys, boxes, your furniture is in place, rooms are closed off that you don’t want included and walls can be reached. After that you are good to go.

Works very well. Mapped the room in 8-10 min. Comes bags which are a bit smaller then previous robot but seem to be efficient so far. Cleans pet hair pretty good

I bought this to replace the Neato D7 I had. The Roomba 705 navigation is outstanding! The vacuum power is 8x more powerful than the Neato I had. The big bonus is the self emptying feature. The app is easy to use, and I like this robot so much I bought another one for my other place!

I work out of town, have two long haired cats and two roommates. This product has been a game changer. Owned for about two months, and I did have to do a good deep clean first, but it has made my life much easier, it does the day to day like a champ, no cat hair to be found, quiet and effortless!

It's been a long time since we've used robot vacuums because while we've owned a j8+ and S9 we had problems with the robots getting stuck under furniture, tangled in cords, ignoring keep out zones, or just unable to get navigate through some clutter. We'd basically given up on using them. After reading positive reviews of the object detection and avoidance used in modern Roombas we decided to give them another shot and have been super pleased with the Max 705. It navigates our house exceptionally well, hasn't gotten stuck once, and cleans well. Super happy with it.

Cleans well. Replaced an older model that stopped working. Navigation and cleaning much better than older model.

This Roomba cleans better and quicker than the previous Roomba I had. The battery life is good enough for my house. The AutoEmpty makes it a lot easier because it picks a lot of hair that my pet sheds and I don't have to be constantly emptying the bin.

The mapping is way better than previous generations. The app also generates a 3d model of your home which is cool. Mine is hit or miss on completely emptying the bin when it returns to the base.

We have only had the Roomba working for a week, but so far the suction seems to be pretty good. I programmed it to clean multiple rooms, but it hasn’t always done so and I have had to send it back to that particular room. The app does not allow you to send it to more than one room at a time if you are doing so manually. That’s something they need to fix.

Great roomba, keeps my floor nice and clean. The self empty feature is nice. Does a great job mapping its routes, and finding its base when done.

Just started using it, and it was easy to get started. It isn't noisy and seems quite thorough going to all the nooks & crannies.

It works really well. It does not get clogged and we have four pets. Fairly quiet and fast.

this model is so much better than my old ones I like the option to choose what type of cleaning the room needs. and it handles my short hair dogs hair really well. sometimes it pauses and I have to reset it but overall has been my bet roomba to date.

It does an excellent job. The map it created of my home is very accurate and the vacuum thoroughly cleans each room. I definitely recommend to pet owners.
