Customers express satisfaction with the Roomba s9+’s cleaning performance, mapping features, suction power, ease of use, self-emptying capabilities, and pet hair removal. However, some users note that the robot can be noisy and that its navigation system and battery life could be improved. Concerns were also raised regarding the robot's reliability and the relatively high price point. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning and convenience is prominent, but potential buyers should consider the reported drawbacks.

With Roomba, you *CAN* buy happiness

What if I told you purchasing a tech item could improve your marriage and reduce overall stress and marital strife? Instead of getting frustrated about trying to stay ahead of your cleaning duties or spending a chunk of money monthly to hire a cleaning service, I would seriously consider buying this Roomba to eliminate this aspect of contention in your life.
The Roomba s9+ has completely exceeded my expectations as I haven't owned a Roomba in about 8 years. This unit has a number of massive improvements I didn't think was possible until I saw them in action. Here's a quick rundown of what makes Roomba s9+ special:
1) Roomba gracefully learns and maps your house. It slowly and gently bumps around and adjust to furniture and obstructions in your home, and over time learns and adapts to the features of your house to maximize cleaning efficiency. In just the second run it was into my kitchen and cleaning everything off the tiles there.
2) Roomba s9+ will automatically return to base and charge to complete the job instead of stopping dead in its tracks. It has about 1:30 hours of clean time depending on surface before it has to go back to charge for about the same amount of time before it goes back to finish the floor.
3) After confidently mapping your floorplan, you can choose which rooms to clean based on need and traffic.
4) The Automatic Dirt Disposal empties the Roomba's bin each time it returns to base so you never have to empty the Roomba directly. The base bin holds ~30 loads of dirt.
5) Handles stairs and obstacles without any issue. Watch as it turns back to missed spots after seemingly moving on. Watch it sidestep open stair wells and thresholds without skipping a beat.
6) App setup is fast and simple. Monitoring and control is also seamless and perfect and also has Alexa integration. Baby or cat made a mess in a room? Call Roomba to clean it!
7) Surprisingly nimble around objects like furniture, chairs, table legs. On my mapped picture, you can see the frame of our dining room table.
8) Can learn multiple floors with the same Roomba
Some notes that aren't negatives but facts you should be aware of. Roomba is not quiet, it is loud and purpose built like any vacuum and certainly not a toy. On hardwood or uneven tile it can be loud moving across those surfaces. Roomba also needs some light to operate properly so we run it while we are at work. Roomba doesn't need completely clear spaces, but it is just less efficient if there are large items or toys scattered about. It will "bully" and push movable objects but if you want a good clean you are better off moving things around.
We still use our corded vacuums for deeper cleans once a month or so, but the Roomba will not only clean up on a more consistent basis, but it will also help you keep things off the floor to help Roomba clean more efficiently.
At the end of the day you have to ask yourself, is Roomba worth the $1300, or $100 or so a month over a year. Do you pay that much a month for cleaning? Over 2 years? 3 years? Now that I have had a chance to use a Roomba I can say it is worth it despite the price when you see how effortlessly clean all of your rooms can be.

So disappointed, app says my dual multi-surface rubber brushes have 235 hours of life left but machine keeps stopping and saying clean the brushes. IRobot is suggesting I need to buy a new pair for $44.99, refusing to send me a new set. Bad business. They need to get a pair.

The iRobot Roomba s9+ WiFi Connected Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum is a wonderful cleaner. It does exactly as advertised on the internet. It is amazingly deep cleaning on both the hard floor as well as the carpet. The first run was so much fun as I walked around behind it, naturally to see exactly how it cleaned. But I made the decision to return it when I realized that I didn't want a separate mopping unit that was never opened.

"Trixie" my Roomba has made me very happy to date! I have tried these numerous times before (other brands as well as earlier model of Roomba) and they always disappointed. This model is definitely a keeper!! The options to fine tune the cleaning are very helpful. We have luxury vinyl and Trixie cleans them very well!

This thing is amazing. Easy to set up and it literally mapper our home after 3 rounds of vacuuming. We created room labels and keep out zones in 10 minutes and now it goes wherever we need it to. The suction is awesome and it seems to be great at getting next to walls without rubbing against them.

I was very excited to have this device in my house. Initial setup was a breeze and in no time the Roomba was mapping my floors. And then it all went to hell.
On its first cleaning run, it ran for able five minutes and stopped. The app on my phone indicated there was a problem with the unit, and upon investigation, the robot had a pulsing red ring. The app had me press the "Clean" button on the device, but the device would then say "Error 31" and suggest I reboot the device. That's accomplished by pressing the holding the "Clean" button for 20 seconds. I would perform the reboot and return the unit to its base and start another clean cycle. Again, the unit would operate for five minutes or so and fail again with the "Error 31" code.
Disappointed, I called iRobot's technical support. They had me perform a device reset by going through the reboot process three times in a row. I did this, and set the device off cleaning again, only to have it fail yet again. They've agreed to send me a new unit, however, they have said it would take up to four (4) weeks for a replacement to arrive.
Needless to say, I'm disappointed with the device. I expected more from a $1200 appliance. I've read other iRobot users having the same issue as I have, so it seems to be a fairly common problem. I'm cautiously optimistic their support people will make it right (they've also extended the warranty from 1 to 2 years, plus will send me a new filter and roller kit). I just hate that I might wait over a month just to use this device.

I cannot tell you how excited I was to get this! I’ve had different iRobot for 4 years and have loved it but wanted to upgrade. This is supposed to be too of the line robot vacuum. This thing is TERRIBLE! I paid almost $1,200 for a vacuum that within the first 2 minutes of running kept giving me error codes and shutting off and telling me I needed to reset the roomba. I would reset it and it would just go in circles and do the same thing. It Did that 6 times!!! Another thing to take into consideration is this thing is LOUD!!! Way louder than my old one. Like you can’t talk to people if it’s running near by. There are some serious issues with this vacuum so don’t waste your money. I’m returning tomorrow!

The iRobot - Roomba® s9+ (9550) Wi-Fi® Connected Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal - Java Black is simply brilliant, and a simple way to keep your floors dust and dirt free. It does take a while for the irobot to learn your homes layout, but once that's completed, the unit is very efficient and effective.

My worst technology purchase ever. Does not work. I am waiting for my 6th replacement robot. They have no solution for the errors. You have to talk to customer service after waiting for hours. Then they will ask you to ship the robot back while they send you replacement. That also fails working days or hours. Then they will send you another. You try to make that work and map. Waste hours trying to do that while maneuvering through errors. Then that will stop working too. You call them they will say it’s manufacturing defect and send you a replacement. They don’t know what they have made. They cannot make it work. It’s a total FAIL. Can’t get refund. Have totally threw $1200 in trash plus the cost of my wasted time and energy and frustration is huge!!!Do NoT buy. You cannot waste so many hours even if you swept and mopped a 4000 sq ft home every single day yourself

This is the worst investment I have ever made. I got to use the first one a few times before it broke. I got it replaced, and used it ONCE before it broke. I highly recommend NOT getting this unit. The impeller is made from an extremely cheap plastic and will shatter under a load. If you have made the mistake of buying one of these, you’ll know it has broken when you get constant bin error codes.

I purchased this vacuum one week ago today. Since then I have set it to clean my house once a day as we have 2 long haired German shepherds. The robot has yet to successfully complete a cleaning cycle without an issue of getting "stuck near a cliff" in our 1 story home of ~1600 sq ft. The maximum area it has cleaned to this point Is 700 sqft, with the average being about 75 sq ft. As seen in the photo there aren't many green check marks (where the vacuum has cleaned the area directed) and the only green check marks are from when there is only one room selected for cleaning.

Terrible, expensive and the rolls wear out easily only 6 months and need to buy new ones. Also it keeps showing these bin errors, it doesn’t clean all areas. Save your money and buy a Samsung robot vacuum instead. I really regret this purchase I wish I could return it now.
Note: The iRobot Braava Jet m6 I love it.

Not what I thought it would do. Dumb enough to always hit the Sames walls and chairs. Tried 2 weeks and did dividers and zones and nothing. Does live up.

Destroyed entryway carpet

On the first trip out our vacuum destroyed our entryway carper. I spoke with iRobot customer service, they are very polite and as of now, a week later they still offer little to no solution to the problem. The last conversation was to turn down the power or setup a virtual wall around the entryway carpet to avoid the area. The problem now has been escalated to a higher level of customer service.
For a $1400+ including tax I’d expect a machine that could easily make the transition from hardwood to a low pile entry way carpet without damaging the carpet. (We aren’t talking a crazy fancy carpet just a typical entryway carpet from Costco.) In addition if the carpet is damaged it should be replaced at the their cost...so far crickets from iRobot.
I was hesitant to spend this much money on a vacuum and am even less impressed that it damages carpet in the process.
