Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Roomba s9+’s cleaning performance, mapping features, suction power, ease of use, self-emptying capabilities, and pet hair removal. However, some users note that the robot can be noisy and that its navigation system and battery life could be improved. Concerns were also raised regarding the robot's reliability and the relatively high price point. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning and convenience is prominent, but potential buyers should consider the reported drawbacks.

    Great little vacuum! Good Wall-E-Bot!

I had this Roomba shipped to me, and it arrived in good order and undamaged. Setup is easy for even the most technically uninclined. It learns the area you want cleaned on its own. You can either send it "Training" (basically roaming around without the vacuum on,) or just let it "Clean" (roaming around with the vacuum on.) It may find all the areas to clean on its first cleaning job, or it may not. You just have to let it keep going around and exploring. One thing not mentioned in the documentation (which should probably be mentioned) is when your Roomba finishes creating a map but fails to find a room when it's training, for God's sake, don't customize the map yet! Let it continue to roam around cleaning, and it will find the missing room on that floor sooner or later. If you customize a map once completed, then you can't add any more rooms to that map. It vacuums very well, as well as my old Shark vacuum. It is hilarious to watch doing it's thing. Wall-E-Bot (I call mine "Wall-E-Bot") roams around without what I would think is rhyme or reason, but it does keep track of its job and won't go over the same area excessively. It seems to be effective on rugs and on tile floors. It is kind of loud, but then again it is a vacuum, so I expect it to be. The Roomba AI is kind of funny to observe because it doesn't seem to make sense. It discovers the boundaries (walls) by bumping into them. Even though there is a rudimentary proximity sensor on it, at best, it slows Wall-E-Bot down before allowing it to bump repeatedly into a wall. Chair legs seem to confuse it. Wall-E-Bot will go under a chair and spend a few minutes bumping repeatedly into the legs trying to find its way out from under the chair. It would bother me more if I didn't find it so amusing to watch. My wife and I watch Wall-E-Bot wander around and root for the little guy to finish without incident. It got stuck only once when it went behind my living room couch and managed to jam itself under the couch so tightly, it was immobilized. It does do a good job. I really love the self-emptying feature. So is this Roomba worth it, despite the extreme expense? Based on my experience so far, I'd say absolutely. I'm loving the little guy, puttering around doing its thing without complaint, and it does it well.

iRobot is the best of those robot vacuums, and the Rooba never cease to surprise me with updates: bought a 880 back in 2014, then a I7 in 2021 and now a S9 just for the second floor with carpet. And all 3 rumbas are still running! Wow! The 880 cleans the garage and the I7 the first floor. Don't have to manually vacuum the house for years now. Most impressive: I have a Golden Retriever, and Rooba takes care of it!

The Roomba s9+ does an excellent job of vacuuming hardwood floors and carpets. It takes a while to learn and map the areas that are vacuumed the first time as I have a lot of furniture to clean around. Am completely satisfied with this model as I have a large area to clean. It maps out areas in the house to clean and when finished returns to its home base automatically. I can even tell it to clean specific rooms/area and even areas not to clean. I highly recommend this product. It was easy to set up and program.

We like this unit quite a bit but it does have some drawbacks. If you have oriental rugs or other rugs the six inch distance between rug and hardwood never get cleaned because the vacuum is transitioning between the higher rug and wood floor. Rug fringes get caught in the roller and often get torn out. It often bends the rug and the iRobot gets stuck requiring attention. You really can’t let it run on its own, you need to be home. It maps out the house which is a nice feature but it missed a few rooms. Last negative is that it sometimes does not dock properly with its base. Other than that it is a great machine and the self dirt disposal is fantastic. I’d buy it again.

    Exceeded My Expectations!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. We have two dogs that shed. All I wanted was the Roomba to pick up dog hair. I figured we would have to still use our Miele vacuum. I looked at getting the 7 plus model, but splurged for the s9 plus. I am really glad I did! The s9 is a powerful vacuum that after two runs, it made our carpet look brand new! Not only does it pick up hair, it really sucks up the dirt deep in the carpet. The s9 moves from carpet to wood floor with ease. The wood floors shine again. The other thing we love is the low size allows it to maneuver under the buffets, chairs, and beds - areas our Miele can't reach. It evens works under the dining room table manuevering between chairs. The only drawback is the battery. Working over carpet, the battery drains fast. It will head back to it's base to charge. Upon 3/4 of a charge, it will continue to work. It will take about 8 hours of the day to complete your rooms. Speaking of rooms, with the app, you can select which room to do. Here is a hint. When you unpack you Roomba, let it charge completely. The App setting up was a little difficult, but when I shut the app down and restarted it - the app worked fine. One thing that is not on the "Quick Start" page is the "Training Mode" on your app. The training mode allows your Roomba to not vacuum but map your house much quicker. Otherwise if you vacuum your house at the same time, it will take days. Again - the s9 Plus exceeded our expectations. We haven't used our Miele since we have the Roomba. I want to get another one for the basement too.

My family has had a roomba 880,980, and now s9. The s9 takes it up huge level. The 980 was great but broke down and will not charge and always says it’s dirty. This just happened to be right on time with the new release! Pros: New design gets corners better Better battery life than roomba 980 2 hours sometimes 3 Empties itself if you have the home base Easy to clean Low maintenance Excellent mapping. App integration is amazing Cons: A little loud. Can get stuck sometimes Can not find home base every time. Parts can be expensive.

we had several Samsung robot vacuums and the large ones did good with pet hair, the small ones were terrible with pet hair. We purchased this hoping it would work better. WOW, this vacuum is fantastic. It really covers all the floor instead of running all over like the old robots. I vacuums up the pet hair with ease and works really well. I wish this had been available when I wasted my money on the Samsung vacuums. Thank you iRobot. We also purchased the M6 mop robot and the two work together like a champ.

Our Roomba's name is Gollum! We love him! He keeps our place dirt and dust free. OH pet hair you ask? He's got that covered too! AND on top of that, he is synced to our Google Home speaker and can be released hands-free. He cleans our whole home in less than 2 hours! He is also friendly with our animals. He doesn't ever run them over or be obnoxiously loud. He can also get into hard to reach places like, under the sofa and under the bed!

This work’s extremely well. Much better than my other zoomba. Cleans deeper and gets into corners. The dirt disposal unit is a dream. Only con is you can’t set the disposal activity to run at a later time. This is super frustrating. I love to run the unit at night when everyone is in bed, but can’t because the emptying process is so loud it wakes up the house. With everyone working and schooling from home I now need to run it at 9:00 after kids go to bed which limits the ability to enjoy some peace and quiet time. Once they fix this feature with an app upgrade I would give it 5 stars!

I loved this product when I first got it. It vacuums so well, that I think I can forgive the other things. For one, you need to have the lights on in the house when you start a run, otherwise, the vacuum gets stuck near the base station trying to find it's way to the starting point. For two, you have to regularly clean the dust bin, and contact points. There are many times that you want to start a job only to have the machine empty its bin and do nothing else. Other than those two things, I love it.

This is a good cleaner with good suction but I still think it could have been better. I am a tech guy and I believe the S/W guys could have done a better job in its routing for cleaning. It goes all around the place rather stick to one room one place at a time for cleaning. Also I am not sure if it is a glitch or it is by design, every single time it gets stuck and wants to be restarted, i have to use the app to start the job. The buttons does not do anything no matter how many times i press on it. But again that could be just me

For a 1,000.00 dollars i expected perfection. If you have a simple floor plan with thick carpet this might of received 5 stars. My house is big. Many different rooms. It rarely finishes due to getting stuck. The powerful suction is illrelavent due to suction being to strong for litte rugs and killing the battery to quickly. The mapping was never correctly done.

We love this. We bought the Roomba to help keep up with pet hair from our Corgi and it quickly became our standard vacuum. It does a really good job keeping the house clean. Suction is fantastic. The only issue we've had is pet hair clogging the vacuum or dock (very seldom) when the bag gets full. Other than that, we run this thing about every day and no issues.

We have 3 kids and a small dog. My wife works from home and we have busy schedules. We bought this vacuum and run it at night. It’s a life saver. We don’t even know it’s working. It’s super Easy to set up as well. While a regular vacuum is always good to have this little robot deff helps around the house when we don’t have to.

We've had our s9+ for about a month now and we absolutely love it. It took about 3 days for it to map out our house. After that it hasn't missed a beat. The mapping feature is so cool. I've read other reviews of it being so loud but its not any louder than our past robots plus we really don't care as long as it keeps doing as good of a job as it does. This will definitely be the way we go from here on out

Units works quite well. It picks up dog hair really well. I had another brand of Robot Vacuum but I always had to follow up with a Dyson to completely clean all the dog hair. This one picks up everything so I don’t have to follow up with the Dyson. Only problem I have is when I take it downstairs away from the base it seems to get confused.

I have had this iRobot for over two years and it is great. I love the user friendly app and the fact that the vacuum works so well without any issues. I love the ease of vacuuming everywhere or if I need just a particular room vacuumed I can use the app and the room a will go there and clean. I also have the braava mop which also works well.
