Failed In 3 Months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this KitchenAid Microwave for Christmas for my wife and in 3 months it stopped working. It started to display an open/close door error. We would open and close the door repeatedly and still the error. The first repair man came out and replaced the latch in the door. It worked for about one day and then the same error again. The latest error is that the display goes haywire and lights up everything on the display panel like it has a problem with the motherboard or something (see picture). We are now onto our second repair. When we call KitchenAid to report the problem they refuse to replace the microwave and instead try to push a $235 extended warranty plan. This is the first KitchenAid appliance we have had, would not recommend them and will not be buying anymore KitchenAid products!

Very disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my 2008 model KHHC2090SS-2 with this model on 1-11-2020. My 2008 model worked beautifully for 11 years. I could put 4 boiling pots on my stovetop at the same time and the vent removed every drop of steam. With this model I can’t even put one boiling pot on the stovetop with the fan on its highest setting the 2/3rds of the microwave front is drenched and dripping. The air blows strongly out of the exhaust on top but the vents underneath won’t even hold a paper towel or the thinnest napkin. I contacted Kitchenaid and they sent a local service tech out. He looked at it and said nothing he could do. Best Buy tech said sorry that’s just how they are. I can’t accept that answer especially when my 11 year old microwave performed amazingly. Microwave is 1 month old today and I can’t get support from Kitchenaid or Best Buy. Needless to say I am very disappointed and unhappy with this purchase.

Whirlpool/Kitchenaid Not A Reputable Company
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this microwave as part of a display unit. Apparently this microwave is from 2015. The microwave does not heat evenly throughout the microwave and it’s under manufacture warranty. For instance, if we cook some breakfast sausages most will be great but some will be ice cold still. Same will happen with microwave pancakes and hot pockets. If we overcook then the good ones become hard. The company sent Diamond Factory Services to our house to service our microwave. They placed a cup of water in the center of the microwave and found that the water heated up. The workers called technical support which said the microwave is working fine. We were prepared to show them the problem with real food but they refused to take the time to inspect the problem. Apparently Whirlpool/Kitchenaid do not stand behind their products. They pretend that they do but they really don’t want to deal with problems that aren’t obvious. I would not recommend buying Whirlpool/Kitchenaid.

Not a happy Kitchen Aid
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the microwave and convection oven combo. We used both almost every day . Then, 14 months after we purchased it the magnetron went out . It was not covered under warranty. $450 repair cost . That new magnetron came with a 90 day warranty . It lasted 4 months. If you have to have this beautiful appliance, get the extended warranty! I will not be buying another one !Our small Kitchen aide appliances have been absolute workhorses, no problems whatsoever. That and the styling were why I bought the Kitchen Aide Microwave Convection oven. I

Very Good Microwave, Lousy Hood
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is billed as a combo Microwave/Hood. And it's a really good microwave. BUT, the hood function is horrible. We bought this particular model, in part, because our Kitchenaid ovens take forever to heat up, so when re-heating some dishes it just took way too long. Our thinking was that we could use the convection feature to avoid the 30 minute wait to re-heat pizza as an example. Some foods are better re-heated conventionally. The actual microwave functions are great. Cooks food more thoroughly than our previous Kitchenaid did. So no problems there other than the popcorn sensor, which overcooks the popcorn. We have to enter that one manually. Convection mode cooks great too, however the pre-programmed settings don't account for re-heating we have to enter our own best guess at how long to cook. Not optimal. But not a show stopper. The biggest issue we have is really the fan and venting. You have to cycle through all 6-speeds of the fan when using it. So if you have it on high, you have to push the pad button 6 times to turn it off. Most disappointing is the venting. The fan vents are over the rear burners and the fan is pretty weak from the underside of the unit, so when using the front burner, most of the smoke and fumes run up the front of the unit and are not pulled up through the vent. We have to use our attic fan whenever we cook bacon! And we have to clean all of the grease off of the front of the microwave. After 6 months we've found the hood function unusable and will have to dump this and find a different solution, which is unfortunate because the microwave is actually really good. And yes, we turned the blowers, checked the vent conduit for obstructions and sealed the vent outlet, etc... Plenty of air flow coming out of the top, not enough from the bottom. Just a bad design.

Bad Quality Plastics
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MW looks beautiful. But the plastic used inside the door will crumble over time allowing the back plate to start detaching from the door. I think this toasted plastic may be linked to the oven feature as the spec plastic will become weaker overtime. MW was purchased in 2018 looks like new but door is falling apart. My guarantee expired last year and the door is half the price of the MW.

Buyers Remorse? Yeah, me too, please read.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I try not to write negative reviews, but something must change, it’s bigger than just one company, it’s American brand reputation, and KitchenAid has lost its reputation with me. Microwave portion of our oven stopped working December 3rd 2020, 4 months after the purchase. These things happen. Service repair person came out 12/24. Didn’t really troubleshoot anything, said there was a recall on the door switch assembly, I asked if it were the control circuit for the door, why would only the magnetron be affected, he didn’t know but was convinced it was the problem. No multimeter check, no fuse check on the power supply board, just ordered the part. Came back in late January, installed the part, didn’t fix the problem. Says he’s going to order the whole assembly for the microwave side of the oven. It’s March 21st, parts are still on back order. KitchenAid has lost control of the scope of customer service. I saw this happen with Sears, and we know where that ended up. Even though I placed the service request through their customer service center, I’ve received no call back to check how things went. So far, I’ve received no response to emails. Also important to note, their website is geared towards marketing, it’s hard to find links to contact customer service, outside of a chatbot. I am sadly disappointed. This is the company that once made bulletproof stand mixers that every grandma that could afford one, had one. Now it seems, to me anyway, that you are just as bad as Disney and Coca-Cola, too willing to put your brand name on anything so long as the profit story makes sense. You are slowly killing America by watering down the quality we once stood for. Sorry, I found a soap box and got a little carried away. The bottom line is that my wife says we will never buy anything KitchenAid again, and unfortunately, based upon this experience, I have to agree.

Don’t Buy...KitchenAid has very poor QC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this KitchenAid Microwave couple weeks ago. Best Buy has been fantastic in support by sending 3 replacements. However, Kitchenaid has been terrible with support. No. 1 microwave - Issue with display, which showed intermittent flashing and characters were not fully displayed by the LED. No. 2. Danger door panel No. 3. Same issue as No. 1. These are all new items that had manufacturer’s problems. How can 2 new items both have the same problem, and Kitchenaid is unaware? Kudos to BB thigh for trying to get this right!! I am about to replace the complete set with Samsung.

Fall apart junk
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should have known the door would be a problem as the entire front is just that. Mine is trash now due to sagging, which caused a latch to fail. Thought about replacing bad latch and micro switch but what about the poorly designed front and hinge. Lasted a whole year...wow. Worked ok while it did though. Way overpriced, never again kitchen aide.

Two times purchase and both the times broke-Worst
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My worst experience with an appliance ever. I bought this Microwave Oven 5 years, it broke after 3 years. I bought a new one less than 2 years ago and it broke again. I did not expect this kind of quality in such an expensive appliance. I had a GE one for fraction of this cost and it worked for more than 12 years without an issue for the entire life. I did not purchase extended warranty and I feel like being cheated by KitchenAid.

Looks are so deceiving. Think 2x
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks are deceiving. I purchased this to replace the same old one I've had for 7 years. It broke on my the 2nd year in but didn't have warrantee so i decided not to fix it. The sensor thinks the door is open when it's closed so it wouldn't start. Takes several tries before it senses it's closed. Selling my place so i had to replace the old one. New ones turntable broke after 3 weeks. getting it replaced.

Terrible return polilcy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a situation where I bought a microwave during the pandemic. I had it delivered because I am immune compromised and my husband has difficulty walkingl the microwave was too large and didn’t fit our decor. I couldn’t get my contractor to get it in because he was so backed up. So I could see that it stuck out to far. I called to see if I could get it picked up and she said I was outside of the return window and that I have to take it to the store and even then they may not take it back. And as I have just said I can’t get it into my car so I guess I’m stuck with a $599.00 microwave. Not shopping there again for a major appliance. Especially during this pandemic.

Do not purchase.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this expensive product from BestBuy December 2016. After 3 years and 5 months of use, the doors and the handle are broken. The microwave is made with poor plastic materials that breaks easily. Also Kitchen Aid has a very expensive warranty on this product. We are planning to replace it because of the expensive repairs.

Meh, not worth anything close to what it cost
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this a year ago for a whirpool that died. It is ok but I really don't like it. The whirlpool did bacon better. The convection feature has not proven useful for me. And the price even on sale was mega meh. Big knock to Best Buy install. They took my owner's manual so I might not be using this to its full extent.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The kitchen aid broke down after owning only 2 months. It's been over a month and I still haven't gotten it repaired. They keep sending broken parts to the warranty repair company that they are using. The "oven" part works, but the microwave broke. Would never buy another kitchenaid and expect them to fix things in a timely manner.
