Excellent dishwasher. Had to replace my old Kitchenaid dishwasher after 12 years of double-duty loads with a new model Kitchenaid. it’s a lot quieter and easier to organize more dishes

Our home builder only used GE appliances, so we upgraded to their Cafe line and couldn't have been more disappointed. After a few months, we started shopping around for a replacement. It came down to Bosch vs KitchenAid. We went with KitchenAid due to the huge 3rd rack & easy glide rack system as they were both rated well for cleaning.
We couldn't be happier. Huge difference in space/rack configuration and the cleaning performance has been perfect. The down side is they are pretty proud of it - $$$$.

No to KitchenAid, and no to Best Buy!
First, pay attention to these reviews as the majority are incentivize.
Dishwasher: We picked it up from the store, brought it home and installed immediately (husband is a plumber). While installing, he mentioned he felt like the dishwasher had been hooked up previously because of how the electrical
connections looked. We discussed maybe it was done at the manufacturer for testing because when we received it, the dishwasher was factory packaged inside what appeared to be the original box. Installation took about 1.5 hrs.
Finally, I could now get my hands on this beauty and give it a test run! Opened door, pulled out middle rack and immediately noticed a PLASTIC (this word will be used a lot) clip was missing off one of the adjustable dish holders rendering it unusable because it would not stand up, Refusing to be dismayed, thinking that’s a simple fix, sure the manufacturer will just send a replacement and we can easily snap it in, I move on to explore the adjustable rack. Except it will NOT adjust for some reason. Upon further inspection, we find the PLASTIC piece that attached the rack to the right side roller is completely broken off, and that piece is nowhere to be found (not in the bottom of the dishwasher). Speaking of the bottom of the dishwasher—there was sediment in the bottom that looked as if it had been used previously.
Frustrated now, but still determined to use this baby until we can get the brand new $1300 dishwasher repaired, I begin the process of running a load. Well, if you are over 25, this one likely is not for you. Hubs and I are both techies. We are in our 50’s, but have stayed proficient with technology for the most part. Neither of us could get the thing started, even after consulting the hideous “manual.” Our 23 year old daughter was finally able to get it going, but it was a bit challenging for her as well. The programming is NOT intuitive, and the manual is worthless. It is printed on cheap paper, in fifty languages on the same page, and is very difficult to read and follow. We ran a load, and the results were satisfactory; finally a positive note.
We are unsure if we were sold a refurb, that was poorly refurbed, at regular price, OR if KitchenAid’s QC is what poor, but the fact this ever left the warehouse with missing and broken parts speaks volumes.
The entire dishwasher is composed of a LOT of PLASTIC parts and pieces. That, along with the issues we encountered, led us to be confident we did not want to return for the same brand.
The return:
So it begins: first I go online and as recommended under the contact option, I ATTEMPT to CHAT with Customer Service. After forty-five minutes of no answer in chat, I moved on to the next recommendation; text. I waited An hour, received no response, so went to bed. The next morning, they had responded two hours and forty five minutes later. Because I was asleep and didn’t answer immediately, they closed that chat. The next morning, I waited until store hours so I could call the local store and speak with someone to give me my options on exchange. We live 30 mins from the store, and we’re hoping they would pick up/deliver and maybe uninstall/reinstall the exchange. Welllll, after being disconnected twice because their phone tree takes you in a horrific circle of options, I finally learned the right things to say or buttons to push in order to reach a human…or so I thought. I was At work, so I put the phone on speakerphone and went about my day while holding for a live representative. You’re given the option of having them call you back instead of waiting, but I opted to wait the estimated eight minutes instead. Sixteen minutes later, I reach a live representative, but wait…she sounds nothing like people from our area of town. She was super nice, and we both worked hard to get through the language barrier as English was definitely not her first language. After ten minutes with her, she advises she needs to transfer me to someone who can assist with exchanging the product. I think finally I am being transferred to the local store! Hah, NOT! Next a gentleman answers. Again, nice, friendly, and speaking in broken English. I work In healthcare where we interact with various cultures and languages all day long; I am accustomed to accents and rarely do I have problems understanding non-American accents. Well, like the first representative, he had a thick foreign accent that I (and my coworkers) struggled to understand, but we worked through it. The offer: They would send out replacement, and pick up the other one for free! No, they wouldn’t uninstall and reinstall. Timeframe on exchange? Two weeks. I thanked him, told him we would just return to the local store and hung up.
Husband uninstalls, loads it back in the truck along with all the packaging, and makes the thirty minute trip back to the store. What happens next? We paid cash the day prior, but this very busy (Nov 30th) store claims they do not keep that much cash, so they will have to MAIL us a check. Hubs pushes back and they finally agree to credit to his debit card. I will brag and say the next morning, our cash purchase had been safely returned to our bank account.
We went to a different big box store that starts with a “L” and purchased a different brand that starts with a “B” (google—most recommended brand-that started out manufacturing tools, I believe). Paid about $50 more, but it’s now installed. Parts seem much more substantial, and not nearly as much PLASTIC. Programming is very intuitive.
So, we are fine with Best Buy—will never purchase as much as a computer mouse from them again (and we’ve been long-term customers), and will NEVER even look at a large KitchenAid appliance again.
Do not recommend Best Buy or KitchenAid!!

Have had my dishwasher for 2 weeks now and loving it. Still getting used to where dishes, pots, etc fit best but other than that, has worked well. I've only used it in the "Normal" setting which does take 2h 50m. Dishes come out very clean and dry along with the inside of the dishwasher is dry without any lingering water. Forgot to mention...super quiet!

Best dishwasher I’ve ever own! I will never by another brand! We don’t have to rinse the dishes, just scrap chunks of food off and they come out looking like new. Glasses sparkle no matter how grimy other items are. Best part, the third drawer actually works!!! My last dishwasher (LG) they never got clean on any level and it only lasted 4 yrs. So happy with my new Kitchenade❤️

Great looking and has a very solid, reliable feel. Door closes with a hefty “thunk” and the racks are solid and smooth.
The upper third tray is definitely more useful than the cutlery rack on our previous Kitchenaid washer.
In general it’s a quiet unit but makes a lot more noise than expected at certain times in the wash cycle. It’s as if the water is reflecting off the door and there is some grinding sounds while cleaning which are unusual.
The door-top panel with count-down tuner and indicator light in the door face are welcome additions. Seems to clean well and dries much better.

I love this dishwasher. its so much quieter than my old one that I forget I have turned it on and it gets my dishes so clean! I am incredibly impressed with the third rack as I was sceptical about the ability to clean the top rack but its just as clean as everything else! only complaint is that the wine class stands are not actually tall enough for a traditional long stemmed glass, the rack is only a few millimeters to close to the top for them!!

Great, larger 3rd/top rack. When using all 3 racks it holds many sizes of dishes, glasses, cups, etc. we like the timer feature to set it for overnight operation. It’s very quiet.

If you want a quiet dishwasher that leaves dishes clean and provides large amounts of room then this is the dishwasher for you. We have purchased 2 of these now, one for our previously owned home and one for our new home. Very satisfied with the look and efficiency of this unit.

I am happy overall with the dishwasher. At least I don't have to wash dishes. But I would have thought Kitchenaid would have came with more bells and whistles. It needs a way to lock the controls on top so you can wipe the top off without turning every button on. The third rack kinda makes the inside smaller on the other racks. My dishes have came out clean and it is very quiet.

Nice dishwasher with room for glasses and cups on top and large dishes and cookware on the bottom shelf. Versatile control system that allows an express wash. Digital readouts allow you to determine status. The Pro cycle will presumably manage itself depending the level of food left present on the dishes. This is very long however, even if it supposedly is using very little water. Extra dry cycle as well. Good quality and quiet. Black finish is nice.

This is a wonderful dishwasher. It took a little getting used to as it replaced our 25 year old Maytag. It is very quiet. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it doesn't seem to fully dry at times. I like the 3rd rack better than I thought I would. Overall, we are very happy with this purchase.
