Best TV for work and play.

The LG C1 48in OLED is one of the best Tv's you can buy right now. Great for next Gen gaming with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 with it having 4x HDMI 2.1 ports. If you are lucky enough to own a 30 series graphics card it can also be used as a monitor with being able to run HDMI 2.1 at 120hz smoothly along with being G-sync and Freesync compatible. The new magic remote design upgrade over the pervious version is a welcome and navigating menus with it is a breeze. The UI is a nice change from pervious LG TV's, but LG is still missing some big apps with no HBO max or ESPN at the moment. NOTE: I would not recommend this TV if the room you plan on putting it has a lot of natural light. In order to get the full effect of the OLEDs true blacks you want a completely dark room, and with the screen being on the glossier side, you can get some awful glares from direct natural light. Overall if you are a gamer with the new systems and a 30 series GPU, you can not go wrong with this TV.

    Just a Great TV

This is our first new TV in eight years. We were replacing a Panasonic that had very good ratings - but this nee LG C1 puts it to shame. The picture contrast is incredible - inky dark blacks with brilliant highlights. The eARC HDMI ports work great with our Apple TV box and Sonos Arc soundbar - the Dolby Vision TV streams are amazing and when I use the TV and Soundbar to play Dolby Atmos music from Apple Music the depth of the music is super. I had a few glitches with BestBuy delivery - but they rallied at the last minute and we’re able to deliver the TV on schedule. Overall a very good experience.

Ill Start off by sayin its simply a beautiful picture. Its my first OLED Tv and im absolutely blown away. The only thing that i didnt like is that it took so long to go onsalebon BestBuy.com other than that the gaming features are the best on the market. Watchinh TV has been a gift and Movies are spectacular. Figuring out all the settings took some time to get used too but if you wanna figure it out and spend some time with it, it gets easier as you go. And the one surprise thing is a lot of people said this Tv wasnt very bright? But to me its incredibly bright. Overall rating id have to give it a 9.7/10

Amazing! I was worried 48” would be too small but it’s perfect for my space. Been saving up ever since my son broke my 55” TCL Roku TV with a wii remote. So glad I decided to spend the extra money for a quality tv this time around. Tested a few of my series X games they all look great. Haven’t hooked it up to my pc with a 3070 yet but I’m sure it will work flawlessly. The speakers sound like you have a sound bar and a small woofer. It’s plenty loud for my 10’x10’ room.

Best TV we've ever owned or seen

    |
    Posted .
Owned for 1 month when reviewed.

I'll start with the bottom line - This TV has the best picture quality I've ever seen on a TV. It backs that up with great sound and lots of detailed control capability to tailor it to our desires, which is what we were seeking. In the past we've not gone for the highest end TVs, shooting instead for a good (good enough) picture at a low price. When our 1080p Toshiba main TV recently died, in addition to looking at TVs in person in stores we read tons of online reviews and looked at detailed specs and measurements on various sites, including rtings. We have a 32" Samsung in another room and are very happy with it, so we first tried a Samsung Q60T - great picture but it had a weird sound problem with a distorting resonance in the low frequencies that could not be cured with equalizer settings (both engineers, read the manual, called Samsung help desk). Returned it and tried a Samsung T8000, good picture, same sound problem, so we returned it as well. That's when we decided to splurge and get this more expensive TV that scores much higher in reviews and spec measurements across the board. Several TV/electronics review sites here and in the UK have this new model TV and its predecessors (CX, C9) as their top TVs for several years in a row, and now we can see why. We're between 30 and 40 miles from a big city and get our regular channels over the air with a small inside the house antenna. The TV does a great job of picking up over the air channels, as good or better than our small Samsung and our previous Toshiba. We watch Blu-rays and DVDs and hook up a laptop via HDMI to do whatever else we want without interacting with the apps. It has a fantastic, detailed picture that seems accurate, natural, and easily customizable to both the material we're watching at the time as well as the room conditions and our personal preferences. Blu-ray content is spectacular and it does a great job with upscaling lower resolution content like old TV shows. We use the onboard speakers and are quite happy with them. The sound is balanced across the frequency spectrum, sounding full, clear, and rich without being harsh in the top end or muddy in the midrange and bass. (FYI - We are also musicians with plenty of audio electronics at home. You can always add more gear for a home theater or blasting gaming experience, but the onboard speakers are as good as I've heard in a TV.) We don't use the smart features/apps or the voice control on the Magic Remote, so look to other reviews for insights on those. We did buy a second, cheap LG remote to get a dedicated "Info" button that is not on the included Magic Remote (Info available but buried too deep, plus we like each having a remote). The "Info" gives more detailed information that what appears when just clicking on the "i" next to a show on the Listings screen. We are very happy that we stepped up to this TV and feel it was worth it.

I have been using this as a gaming monitor for my gaming PC and PS5. Also for streaming. I was a bit hesitant about splurging on this TV/monitor because of the burn-in risk associated with this screen. But after researching for quite a bit and considering the image quality and all the PC and Console monitor features and support (VRR support, Gsync compatible, AMD Freesync Premium, 120HZ/120FPS, 4K resolution, Oled perfect blacks and infinite contrast ratio—not to mention all the other TV features) I decided the risk was worth it rather than wait for months for just an adequate LED/LCD that won’t have as good quality control and support and, even worse, will cost the same or more! Most likely later on I will purchase a second smaller LG monitor just for web browsing and desktop work and anything that requires me to display static images for long periods of time. So far I have not been disappointed but astonished the at picture quality and gaming performance. In less than one week I have received two firmware updates and can clearly see LG’s commitment to support more features, useful ones too for gaming. If you are a PC gamer you are probably used to fine tuning settings for best results. This TV/monitor is no exception but the settings are intuitive and WebOS and the remote controller included make this a snap. If you are planning to use this just for streaming and console gaming and aren’t used to tinkering with settings a lot, it’s not a hard task. You will actually want to change settings depending on your usage to get best results and I would recommend watching HDTVTest YouTube channel where a very knowledgeable and humorous Vincent easily guides you to get the most out of your LG C1 or LG CX. So far I have been playing Destiny 2 on my gaming PC and I can hit a buttery, smooth 120fps at 4K with gorgeous HDR. Oh yeah! Can’t wait to try out other games! I have been also streaming Patasyte on Netflix and the anime horror is crispy! Well, you have read enough—time to get yours!

    LG OLED Delivers

This TV purchase was a necessary one. Mine went out after quite a few years. So of course technology has come a long way since that one. The LG OLED was the perfect fit for the space that I have to place a TV. It is still relatively new to me and I am getting used to all of the different settings. The sound quality and picture quality are very good. The color is vibrant which was one of the reasons that I picked this TV. I have only had problem with the TV so far. I wanted to add an app and it would say no content available. This must have been a server issue or update because the next day everything was back to normal and no problems. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for an upgrade or just purchasing a new TV for another room in the home.

More than likely, you'll have to adjust settings

Got this TV for the office and man it's great. I've only had LCD tv's from Sony (900e), so I'm not a newbie with this stuff. This TV just blows it out of the water in terms of color and motion flow. I personally LOVE MotionFlo in my TVs. I don't really feel the input lag and it literally looks like 120fps gaming. I understand that others don't feel the same, but playing GTA V with Auto HDR on my series X with MotionFlo set to max is breathtaking on this TV. That is NOT an understatement. That being said...movies are harder to calibrate because of the screen judder (OLEDS pixels switch too fast on movies so it makes it look choppy). I got a head ache with this so I had to turn on MotionFLO on a lower setting and adjust the audio delay. Unfortunately, this meant I had to turn off DolbyVision. Lord Of the Rings 4k is just insane on this puppy. TL;DR: TV is 100% worth it, but more than likely you'll have to mess with the settings to get it to fit your taste.

Fantastic picture quality with incredible responsiveness when used as a computer monitor, with a few notable caveats: · Initial setup is cumbersome for PC use -- changing an input icon to PC is unintuitive and not explained in any manner · Gamma/Color Space should be detailed in an Advanced users menu during initial setup · TV stand is poorly shaped as the back extends several inches, making it almost necessary to use a third party option · VRR + GSYNC can cause a strobing/flickering effect during some games. Even titles that hovered around the 120Hz Refresh rate caused flickering any time they'd dip to 119 · WebOS can be a bit intrusive until you disable all of the features and automatic processes

PC Monitor Use: At 3’ back this TV is still too big for desktop use at 4K but I found a solution, custom resolutions. You can set 3440 x 1440 or 3840 x 1600 for example and have black bars around the unused pixels. You get a crisp image as pixels are 1:1 with no scaling/stretching. A 34”/38” Ultra Wide OLED won’t exist for a few years but you can essentially use the custom resolutions to get that experience today. A better experience than the LG 34GP950 at the same price, but at 120hz instead of 144hz. If I want to sit further back on the couch for a third person game I can set it to 4K and use the full panel. Really interesting setup! Just make sure you disable resolution scaling on the panel as the TV likes to blow up 16:9 resolutions to use the full panel.

My house was struck with lightning. Took out a 9000 Series Samsung. The best part about the lightning was discovering OLED. Went back-and-forth between Sony and the LG. The C1 won out. I love the picture as does my wife. 4K Blu-ray discs are wonderful on this. Don’t wait for lightning to strike.

Fantastic TV with superior picture quality. Purchased a sound bar ( bose) as recommended to enhance the sound and it is terrific for sound quality. I don't know the quality of the TV sound alone, without the bar sound bar, but had read it was recommended to purchase, as it was by the in-store consultant. Theory being, if you have excellent picture quality, ou should have enhance excellent sound as well. Not sorry I added the purchase. Room used in has off- to -the -side seating and the picture can be clearly seen from all angles

If you’re a gamer this TV is a must have. This TV really shines for 4K, 120Hz refresh and HDR. Gotta have some of the newest gadgets to push this baby. PS5, Xbox Series X, Ultra HD Blu-Ray and UHD / 4K steaming. The picture/video quality is second to none. 4 HDMI 2.1 slots just push this baby over the top. No other manufacturer comes close for the money.

Bought this as I previously owned a larger CX and had to move into a smaller space so got the 48 C1 for my desktop. Not a huge upgrade picture quality wise but I can definitely tell the difference when gaming. It’s also a really solid option to use my pc just make sure you make adjustments to avoid possible burn in. I’m set for awhile with this unit!

Bought this pretty much to use for my new console. As pretty much most Youtube and reviews online pretty much say to get this tv... since the CX version. Good thing I waited and sprung for the C1. the different between the two models aren't that significant... but if you were pretty much going to spend the same amount.... might as well. Picture on games does not disapoint. You can really tell how amazing this tv and the games are with titles like Gears of War 5 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. If like me, shopping to get a tv for you new console, this will not do you wrong. go get it

Best quality OLED I could find, as the LG G1 couldnt be mounted in the space I had available. Amazing picture, great for next gen console gaming. Beautiful colors, rich blacks and very sleek design. Only downside is price, but you get what you pay for. I'll buy another after it drops.

Awesome tv i upgraded from the lg c9 55 inch and i wanted to go smaller, so i got the 48 inch c1 love every bit of it, still going through the picture settings a bit but i have them figured out now on where i like everything ps5 and ps4 stuff looks great, i like that game optimizer helps alot, i like filmmaker mode its my new favorite picture mode for movies i know this mode was on cx but i didn't have cx, but very happy with this, i hope other people are considering this tv for gaming on ps5 or xbox but really great for dolby vision and hdr movie watching, cable looks great to, and i like the new webos 6.0 and the new remote very responsive and the web browser is actually fast on this tv i still have the c9 but moved it in the living room using the small one in my bedroom much better regarding size for my room its wall mounted to sound is great also.
