This our 4th OLED. Once you get used to OLED it is hard to watch anything else because there is nothing else that looks as amazing. We wanted to upgrade our 65in OLED in our main room to a larger size. The 77in OLED was a bit pricey so we shopped around for larger TVs (75in - 85in range) that were not OLED but a little cheaper. After comparing many, we realized we just couldn’t lose the picture quality we are used to for a larger screen. A few months later we just decided we had to do it so we purchased the LG OLED 77in from Best Buy and had it delivered to our door! What can I say other than it was well worth it! The 77” OLED is amazing and has a wow factor with Movies and for Gaming. As you would expect, the picture and details are unmatched with the signature contrast and black levels that you can only get from OLED. The colors are deep and rich and are more than impressive and able to retain the smallest of details in an image without color bleed. The eARC supports full ATMOS, which is important to be able to stream ATMOS content from the TV and run it through an Atmos receiver. The OLED has a fast, slick UI and great magic remote. The viewing angle is perfect from anywhere and the TV is super thin and looks great hanging on the wall. Friends and family that watch the TV that usually doesn’t notice or care about the picture even comment on how amazing the picture is. If you love the amazing picture quality, love to game, want the best audio for your Atmos system, and If you are thinking about this TV - just go for it.

Fantastic picture quality, especially in HDR

Spent a lot of time researching a new TV purchase (in person viewing of various models plus reading lots of reviews and following the technical details), and ultimately settled on this (final decision was between C9, CX, and Sony A9G OLEDs which all came in the 77" size and were all about the same price at the time). As the largest consumer-priced OLED 77" is a great size, noticeably larger than the 65" Sony and LG both offer, and in my room the larger size makes a difference. To the picture: it's great with all types of video (we've watched true 4k HDR, 1080p, and even some SD stuff), with good resolution and accurate color matching. But it's really with the HDR material that this shines, and honestly OLED is probably not worth the price premium over LED/LCD options if you're not going to watch a significant amount of HDR content. If you are... WOW. Colors pop where they're supposed to, are subtle where they're supposed to be, and great shadow detail. The truly black blacks of OLED are amazing, and in a dark room it really looks like the image is projected on the wall even with 2.39:1 content where there are black bars on the top and bottom - you can't see them AT ALL. No reservations recommending this in terms of the quality; in terms of value that's in the eye of the beholder. You can probably get 90-95% of the picture quality from a good QLED model at half the cost... but if you really want that last level of quality, you get it here. Only gripe is that the settings are a bit wonky and not well-organized in the menus, so took a couple days to get everything sorted out and looking exactly right, but once it was done it looked fantastic. No idea if the sound quality is any good since it's hooked to a home theater system with separate speakers - and truth be told if you're spending this kind of $$ on a TV you want to pair it with better sound than the internal speakers on any TV. Also if it's an issue for anyone, I know some people hooking a TV into a home theater system have had issues with ARC/eARC as those standards are still being sorted out, so for what it's worth mine has been working fine running eARC with my system, including both sending sound from things playing on the TV itself back to the processor and vice-versa.

I was able to grab an open box item for this so value is excellent. It's been running for over 3000 hours as a demo unit and haven't had any problems! The blacks is the best as blacks can get on an OLED. Viewing angles are awesome. Magic remote for mouse like navigation. Easy to navigate menus. Gaming mode for 120hz GSync/Freesync after firmware update. Thin form factor with small bezels. It's one of the few TVs now that has HDMI 2.1 for future proofing. LG Thin IQ ecosystem. WebOS apps. There was a dead pixel but it went away after a screen refresh. Just remember to calibrate it once you get it for even a better picture. There are examples of settings you can use online. Some say the Sony master series a9g is better but Sony uses the same LG panels so it will look just about the same. The difference is the Sony has a better processing chip and better integrated sound which matters if you don't connect a home theater system to it. But it lacks the HDMI 2.1 and gaming mode.

Before buying this tv I had 55" LG55SK80 that I bought last year. That tv pales in comparison. The blacks are perfect, no added glow from other colors that brighten the black. At first I thought I had over done it with the 77" but after mounting it on the wall and giving it some time, the size is perfect. The price is steep but if you want the best, even in comparison to the latest 8K TVs, it is well worth investing in.

Just replace my old Panasonic Plasma TV (old). Picture is beyond wonderful. Amazing sharpness and deep, rich colors, and the purest blacks. You can view at 45 degree angle with no loss in picture quality. I do not regret this purchase. Amazing!

I mounted this on my wall with the Sanus BXF230-G1 also purchased at Best Buy. 4k through my PS4 looks simply amazing especially the games. There is no lag whatsoever. The blacks are deep and even when the sun comes through the windows this TV doesn't washout. This TV is huge but I do have it in a very large room so it doesn't look out of place. I'm coming from 65" Sony and this of course makes me not miss that TV. Of course as always use the THX Tune-up app if so desired. Obviously this is an expensive piece of equipment, but I'm so glad I purchased it. I can't wait to watch more sports in 4k.

The LG 77 inch OLED TV is a great purchase. The clarity is exceptional. Very crisp picture. The colors are very realistic. The 77 inch size is better than being in a movie theater. Researched this TV for several years before deciding to replace our Pioneer Plasma TV. This is the only TV that could be considered better than the Plasma.

I was upgrading from a large Sony 940C which was mounted in a basement media room. We had purchased an B7 OLED a few years back for the living room, and the LCD based TV in “my room” could compare to that picture. I tried to replace the Sony TV with the massive LG IPS-based, Nano 9 series 86” TV. I was frustrated that the newer TV actually had far muddier blacks and horrible blooming problems compared to the older Sony. And the B7 was better still, so we traded up to a much higher quality picture in this C9 OLED at the expense of a smaller panel size and few thousand more dollars! The difference is worth it. This LG is expensive, especially at the 77” size. But the blacks are truly black. Blooming is practically non-existant. Star fields and boundaries between light and dark remain crisp. Subtitles are sharp. Letterboxing for movie content is as black as the tiny borders of the TV. The rest of the screen just melts away with only the movie itself visible in a dark room. This TV is also about as future proofed as one can get from a 2019 panel moving into the 2020 model year. With the alpha-9 gen 2 processor and full HDMI 2.1 support including eARC, VLL for gamers, even G-SYNC support, this TV is a super-streaming, 4K upscaling, video game playing, Dolby Vision movie watching machine. Needless to say, I am happy with the quality of the picture. The price obviously remains high, though it is comparable to the bigger 82-85” flagship models from the likes of Samsung and Sony. Only the Samsung Q90 4K and Q900 8K can attempt to hit these deep black levels albeit with higher brightness levels. Those TVs may be better for a very bright room as the C9 OLED does fine in a moderately well lit room regardless. But I’m betting one can still see the letter boxes on those TVs in a dark room, though they will beat out Sony in this regard. For my family, it was impossible to go with a larger LED TV when we already have an OLED TV in the home. Nothing else compares. I chose to give up panel size for better overall picture experience and more future proofed tech. If you can wait for six months, it will be interesting to see how the new 8K mini-LED and dual layer LCD models from China perform. For now though, OLED is still tops if you can afford it. Just be prepared to get 10” less OLED TV at the same price point compared to high quality LED based panels.

So what’s not to like? Incredible blacks, incredible colors. Lots of features. Smart. Easy to use. The only possible flaw is sound but I paired it with a 7 speaker surround system with 2 subwoofers. NICE!!

This tv never ceases to blow me away, having a QLED Q900R in the living room which makes my jaw drop, I still tend to gravitate to the bedroom where this animal is mounted up on the wall like a trophy. The deepest blacks, lead the way for the colors to pop more than ever. with 4 HDMI 2.1 ports this tv is Next Gen Gaming ready. The sound is good enough to save you the money from buying a sound bar and being able to put it towards buying a real bar to sit at. What are you waiting for, go buy this tv now!

I’m a Home Theater Enthusiast, I have a very high end Media room and I purchased this TV for my living room . I’m so impressed with the picture quality and the Black’s are perfect which allows near perfect color reproduction. It literally turns off each pixel for black, you can’t do better than that. The price is Awesome for the size of the picture! If you have the money? Don’t go 8K. BUY THIS TV you won’t regret it!!!

Sharp. clear quality picture. Natural color of the picture & not too glaring / bright as compared to Samsung. Family loves it. Will recommend to friends & other relatives. Though for a 77" inch TV, it's a little bit pricey. A big jump in price from a 65" to a 77".

I always wanted an OLED TV. LG ranks top of that category. Well this TV is the best I've ever seen. The colors are so vivid and the blacks are true black. Although they claim that you need to be careful of burn in I'm not too concerned. This beauty hooked up to my 7.2 Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers with ATMOS is better than being in the theater.

The picture is amazing! Actual true black and no light bleed through with colors that really stand out. Love the gallery mode on this TV too. Never owned an LG before. I had a 60” Samsung that had a bad LED after 2 years so figured I’d give LG a try. So far I’m glad I did.
