This is my 5th iPhone & I’ve put each of them in a Lifeproof case. I travel a lot & this case works extremely well protecting my phone.

Front and back phone protection

I got it because I needed a cover with front and back waterproof protection for an outdoor trip I was taking. It's not the most attractive cover, kind of boring basic black but it was bought for function not looks. It was easy to install. Sides have a rubberized grip feel, which sometimes causes the phone to get stuck when I try to pull it out of my pocket but helps alot with gripping the phone. The front cover is clear plastic and dust and lint do attract to it but not a deal breaker. The back is a textured plastic. There is a small cover, that you have to open and close, to charge the phone, the only part I'm not sure how will hold up over time. The cover does make the phone feel a little bigger and bulkier than without the cover but it makes the phone seem well protected. I did think it was expensive but I was stuck because I didn't have time to order anything. Overall, I think my phone seems well protected, there are a few minor inconveniences, it's a boring looking cover but it served the needs I had and I would buy it again.

Have been a life proof fan for years. Had 2 on my previous iPhone. Got the new iPhone 12 Pro when it came out and ordered a life proof case for it. I like the full protection. From experience overall so far has been good. Haven’t tested the waterproof and hopefully won’t need to but like the idea the case is waterproof. The screen protector is clear for me. You do see some sort of grid in the screen as others have described but only when the screen is off. Installation wasn’t a breeze. Like other reviewers have said, the gasket doesn’t hold or stay in the track making it hard putting the two half’s of the case together. After fighting it for awhile, I was able to get it together. Face ID works about 95 percent of the time. Every once in a while it doesn’t work. So I don’t have the major consistency issues that others have had. Overall I’m happy with it.

Overall a good option for an enclosed case protecting against dirt, dust, and water. I've always used Lifeproof as I like the waterproof protection and all their cases I've used for my other phones have worked really well. I've never really had a problem until this case. FaceID worked once or twice and then stopped working altogether. I saw a recommendation on another review to remove one of the tiny round clear stickers at the top of the screen protector and as soon as I did FaceID worked easily. Having to remove the phone (after carefully placing it in the case the first time keeping it clean of debris), remove the sticker, and then clean it again before placing back in the case is a pain, especially for a case that costs $90. Not sure why the stickers are there if they just cause problems. Lifeproof should have done better product testing. One last thing, the screen protector has these rows of tiny dots that, while so far don't bother me too much, I worry when I watch a movie they might interfere with the picture. We'll see. I'd still recommend the case; I think it's high quality protection and is waterproof (tested before I put the phone in the case) but for the premium they charge, Lifeproof could have designed it better to avoid these issues.

Hi there!
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your FRĒ case! ! Those dots are actually completely intentional, as they help to prevent and sort of rainbow effect under the screen protector. That being said, those should not be visible most of the time while actually using your device. We hope that the modification to your case helps improve your FaceID function! If you run into any other issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our helpful Customer Service Team here: https://www.lifeproof.com/en-us/contact-us

I have dropped lifeproof cases many of times and I have yet to actually break the phone inside. I get tons of scratches on the case for abuse of working in the automotive industry and carrying a pocket knife that scratches against the case constantly but out of the multiple years I have used lifeproof I have yet to replace a screen because the failure of lifeproof.

Well-build overall, just like prior life proof cases. Sleek, low profile. Built-in screen protector seems even more sensitive than prior versions. Not sure why they put a plug/knob in place of muting switch, which is awkward. Also, they replaced hinged cover for access to lightening port with a flimsy-feeling plastic tab; will see how long that lasts.

I like the case, it definitely has protected my phone against drops . The only thing is I had to remove the two small circles to operate Face ID, after removing them I did not have any problems.

Structurally sound, seal is very good. A couple of quirks though. FaceID does not work with phone installed in case. If you examine the inside of the front plastic you will find 2 nubs that interfere with the front facing camera. Removing these takes care of the issue. Also, there is a circular button(?) on the left side of the case thst is inoperable but DOES cover the ring silencing button on the phone. If you are not careful you can inadvertently silence your phone. To turn the ringer back on you need to disassemble the case and remove the phone.

Protects the phone but the screen cover interferes with the touch screen, requires hard pressing to activate touch screen, and it is hard to hear from the ear speaker so I’m forced to use speaker phone or take it out of the case for phone calls. Not an issue if you use air pods I suppose.

I was going hiking in a rain forest and knew I would be swimming and around a lot of water a bit to get certain spots so I bought this to feel worry free and I had zero issues not one leak. The screen protector scratched easily that was my on issue. But besides that it was awesome and pretty sleek.

The case might provide good protection for the phone, but there are limitations that make it just OK for practical use. The has some rubber on the front (around the outside edge) that will keep the phone from slipping when laying face down on a surface, but there is no rubber on the back of the case so it will slip all over the place if on a surface that isn't flat or stable. Also, without rubber on the back, the phone is hard to hold in your hand without it being a tad slippery too. If you are using wireless charging, you can't put anything on it to keep it from being slippery. Another point of practical use is the audio of the phone is terrible. The case is so limiting that is sounds like your phone is in a tin can if you try to listen to music or an audiobook. It truly makes you wonder if there is something wrong with your phone it sounds so bad,

Hi there!
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with your FRĒ case! We appreciate your feedback about the grip provided by your LifeProof, and we'll be sure to let our design team know about your experience. Sometimes if you don't have that case installed just right, it can lead to some audio issues like you're experiencing. When you're putting your phone into that case, we recommend sliding your phone in speaker-end first, as that will help with proper alignment of the speakers, microphones, and proximity sensors. If that doesn't help, feel free to call us at 1-888-533-0735, and we'd be happy to get you taken care of with a replacement case.
