Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system could be capable but is plagued with numerous issues preventing it from operating properly and reliably. First of all, the firmware needs to be upgraded for the 2-way talk/listen to work and the fact that this is a new system the upgrade needs to come from Lorex. There are two serious issues that are unacceptable; 1. The USB used to load and save settings has no way of Safely Ejecting so when you simply pull it out is corrupts the drive and you need to hope that Windows can fix-it! In my case Win-10 was successful doing so. I explained to the Lorex agent that this may happen and it did happen while he was on the phone with me. Secondly, I have the NVR on a UPS backup and when the backup battery ran out the unit shut-off and when the power came back on I was unable to log back in with the UN & PW I set up. The NVR had resorted back to the original out-of-box setup using admin & 00000000. Some of my settings were restored but some were not, luckily I had saved my settings after I got everything setup and was able to restore them from a USB drive. Another serious issue is that if you try different camera settings the system will eventually corrupt itself and the IR night vision will not work and you will get black grainy pictures. The solution I found was to set the cameras back to "Default" and proceed. Lastly, you wait on the phone for a long time (45 min ++) before you get an agent and the agent was not from the USA in both my cases. Lorex has been sold by Flir, likely to a Chinese company and the documentation you can ONLY READ ONLINE does not match the menu on the NVR. Lorex NEVER answers your email, and I have sent plenty of them, they are in a state of disarray at the moment promising to get better soon... If you are technically savvy then this system promises to be a very good purchase otherwise STAY AWAY FROM LOREX UNTIL THEY GET ESTABLISHED WITH THEIR NEW OWNER.
