Overall a great 2n1. I initially bought the 15" screen to use as a tablet doing engineering diagrams of homes out in the field. The battery did not last as long as advertised on tablet mode. Adter using it fue 1.5 hours as a tablet the battery was at les than 50%. This was not sufficient for my use. I need at least 6 hours of battery time without recharging. I then switched to the 13" and the battery life was much better and my app actually ran smoother and the pen worked much better. I was using a drawing app for doing diagrams. If you are using the 2n1 at your desktop, definitely go with the large screen. If you will be out on the field go with the smaller unit. The battery life on the large unit is the only reason for 4 stars. If not for that, it would definitely be 5 star.

We picked the Microsoft Surface Book 3 over the Mac Pro Book. The touch screen, cameras and the fact the screen Can detach or fold were the deciding factors. We are very happy with this device and would recommend it.

So far it is a good product. Still learning all it can do. Happy with the weight, size and really like that it can turn into a tablet also. I am still looking for a sleeve which would help in tablet mode.

I love this laptop. The screen is vivid and clear. It has a nice, big sound bar with good sound quality. I wear hearing aides and one of the reasons I replaced my laptop was because I could not always understand conversations in Zoom meetings. The keyboard is backlit and has a good solid feeling. It is a very versatile machine that can detach the screen to become a tablet or reverse and fold flat. The response time is good. I have one major problem and that is too much bloatware. I tried to delete MacAfee and ended up with an annoying error message that I can't get rid of.

Surface stopped working after one year

I purchased Surface Book 3 for my son on Sep 22, 2021 and paid $2,489.74. Below are the details: Model:SLZ-00001 Microsoft - Surface Book 3 15" Touch-Screen PixelSense - 2-in-1 Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 256GB SSD - Platinum On January 15, 2023 the laptop stopped working. Either it wouldn’t turn on or would turn off abruptly. My son tried to troubleshoot but the Surface didn’t work at all. I purchased a Dell laptop on Jan 18, 2023 because I didn’t want my son to waste time on troubleshooting the laptop. After that, I tried all possible solutions suggested on Microsoft. I tried to install Windows 10 by using a USB drive, but the laptop doesn’t stay on. It shows Recovering this PC 1% and then it turns off. I am really disappointed. I paid $2,489.74 for this laptop, and in just over a year, it stopped working. That’s not a good thing. Could you please help me in fixing this issue.

I upgraded from the 13.5" Surface Book 2 to the 15" Surface Book 3. As a grad student and a teacher who is going into 100% virtual teaching this school year, and someone who works remotely for a professional sports team, I wanted to get a computer with a bigger screen, better processor, and more memory. The SB2 probably would have met my needs well enough to get by, but with the student discount ($300 off), I wanted to take advantage of the deal and eliminate the risk of running out of space or any type of system crash with my other computer. Thus far, I feel like everything is running faster, the bigger screen is great, and I couldn't be happier!

Bit too expensive for what you get

It is a nice machine but a bit over priced for what you get. It is slower than many lower priced PCs. One of the greatest benefits is the coolness of using it, when it is in your lap. It stays cool as the heat generating components are in the top portion. Also, it is really nice having an extra battery. I didn't find much of a benefit from removing the top portion and using it as a tablet but others might find that useful.

I love this computer because it has something for everyone in our household. For the gamer in our home, high speed and picture quality take the experience to the right level. Both the keyboard and the screen/tablet became hot while gaming. For the art enthusiast in our home, having front and rear facing cameras as well as Paint 3D and 3D viewer to assist in photo editing, the touch screen surface with pen option makes this a nice tool to get creative with. I like the quality of the pictures I took of myself. They seem to be in matte format and are rather flattering. Playing videos and listening to music were of good quality. For my budding architect, we downloaded Autocad LT and let the building take off. The processing speed seems to be quite reactive to the time the screen gets touched. We didn’t experience any lag, at least none we could notice which to us translates into no lag. The crisp screen display enhances the architectural visuals and leaving your work to the imagination is a thing of the past when you can clearly see your creation come to life with amazing resolution. The surface comes with two batteries, one in the keyboard and one in the tablet/screen. Naturally something needs to continue to power the tablet once its been ejected. Yes, there’s an eject button on the keyboard so you may want to make those button happy aware that once that button is pressed it will release the tablet/screen from the keyboard and will be loose and needs to be removed or snapped back on. The keyboard lights up which is a fav feature of mine in any computer. I tend to burn the midnight oil but don’t like to work with overhead lights, so being able to see my keyboard is important. The keyboard has 3 levels of light intensity. The screen also can be brightened easily with tapping the screen. Like I said, the surface is very reactive. Almost like it knows what I plan to do before I do it. The computer stays cool during normal use but under gaming conditions gets hot. The battery seemed to last quite a bit when using software other than gaming and/or surfing the internet. The charger has a slim rectangular magnetic feature which attaches and detached easily from its port. I like the design of the surface as it doesn’t weigh down heavily on my lap. As a member of the Tech Insider Network Program, I have provided an honest, unbiased review, in exchange for the product which was provided by Best Buy.
