Just disappointment
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this laptop to work form home and the durability is just the worst. My screen cracked from just lifting the screening open, The other problem I been having is that the speaker crack when every I have it at a higher volume. I'm just so disappointed I wanted something different the whole sea of Macbooks, so I saw the surface and just love the look. Unfortunately quality wasn't there. if he really want this laptop I would get the warrant on it that unfortunately I didn't get.

Absolute Rubbish and Completely unreliable
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it 1.5 years ago. Occasionally used it but always kept if up to date. Couple of montjs back it restarted on its own and never worked anymore. What a waste of time and money!! Submitted it to Geek Squad. They could not fix it. Talked to Microsoft, they suggested to use surface Data eraser and try to reformat after that. Nothing happened and now they are asking to ship it to them and givd the another $300 so that they can try fixing it or replace it with another refurbished model with 3 months warranty. I just have to add that I will never ever buy z Microsoft laptop no matter how good it sounds. Macs are way better.

Attractive But Poorly Made
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two Surface Laptop Gos. One was the 128 GB version, the other was 250-something. I'd never owned a microsoft before, but I'm an author, so after I saw the tall screen, I knew I needed it to make editing easier. After using the first one for a week, I couldn't even consider going back to a normal-sized screen. But then the first computer decided not to start. After a week. It took me fifteen minutes to get it booted up after shutting it down normally--screen was black, not updating or anything. It just wouldn't start. Twenty minutes later, I finally got it turned on. I erased my stuff off of it (luckily everything was on the cloud) and returned that sucker so I wasn't stuck with a broken laptop. After looking for another computer with a tall screen (3:2 ratio) and finding nothing, I grudgingly bought another Surface Laptop Go. I hoped the problem the other one had was just a fluke. It wasn't. The second computer didn't have issues starting, but the touch screen had a terrible lag right out of the box. The apps lagged, and all my documents would go blank as soon as I started scrolling, which I knew wasn't normal because even the first one didn't do that. This computer's specs are good enough that it should be able to handle writing and editing in microsoft word, but it can't even do that! I returned the second computer, too, and forked over the money for a Surface Laptop 4, assuming it was just a Laptop Go problem. The screen is gorgeous and the perfect size, and the laptop is really pretty. But even as I'm typing this, the speakers have a bit of fuzzy white noise--a problem I googled, and apparently Microsoft has known about it for 2-3 years without fixing it, even in the older models of this brand new computer. It also buzzes faintly whenever I stop working actively--another problem Microsoft won't fix that has existed for a while and been complained about by a TON of people. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that Microsoft makes crappy computers... but the screens are the perfect size, and as an author who edits my own stuff, I can't justify trading a short screen because of a buzz and a some white noise. If you don't NEED a tall screen for your work, DON'T buy Microsoft. Just don't. Three crappy computers right out of the box is NOT a coincidence. If you do need a tall screen, join the crowd. Maybe if enough of us complain, they'll finally get around to fixing their tech. Until then, I'll be swearing at this dang fuzzy speaker.

DIED AFTER 42 DAYS!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am an active duty military member and I bought this laptop in order to support my job, teleworking, and college classes. It worked great. I could do everything I needed to and more! But! After only 42 days!!! It stopped working and would not take a charge. I called Microsoft Tech Support and did all 3 steps of their trouble shooting and told me I needed to send it in and they would send me a refurbished laptop. After having a 1200 laptop for less that 1.5 months, I was going to get a refurbished laptop?! That can’t be right. So, I went to best buy. They looked at it and said they would have to send it off to be looked at. Geek Squad can’t even work on these! They would have to send it to Microsoft and then I’d STILL get a refurbished laptop. After more than 6 hours on the phone with Microsoft and Best Buy I have gotten no support in getting my money back OR a new laptop. Instead I am forced to get a refurbished one. In addition, I am forced to buy a new laptop in the meantime to accomplish my school and telework.

Battery Life is EXTREMELY SHORT!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am only giving one star mostly because of the extremely poor battery life. I use my computer all throughout the work day (it doesn't make it 6 hours before it has to be charged). I also use it when I get home in the evenings; however, I have to charge it at night as well. Now, when I am not using it, I always close all tabs and shut my device completely down. This is unacceptable to me. At the store, I was told I could send it off for service. This is also unacceptable as I have to use my computer EVERYDAY and cannot afford to be without it for even a Sunday. Also, let it be know that I was unable to get to a BEST BUY prior to my return date as the closest one is over 100 miles from my home. Please let me know my options other than trying to sale my computer and purchase a MacBook.

Battery Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice laptop. Until it wasn't. Severe battery issues that seem to now be well documented. Should have done better research. Battery unable to take a charge after 13 months. Charging block and cord are fine. Out of warranty. Lost cause after significant work to recover with numerous experts. Essentially have to break the computer to get at battery. Look elsewhere.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had for 18 days and large crack across screen!! I’ve been so very careful with it and bought a nice thick case for it and have never once dropped it or anything and I opened it to use today and there’s a giant crack! Poorly designed I’m assuming!!!!
