Customers regard the Surface Laptop 4's lightweight design and ease of use very positively, frequently praising its comfortable keyboard and acceptable battery life. The sleek design and size are also commonly cited as strengths. However, some customers express concerns about the limited port selection and the price point for the offered specifications, particularly the RAM capacity.

Really liked the sleekness of this laptop. Very simple and clean. Very lightweight which I liked a lot since I’m a college student and don’t want it making my bag heavier. Loved the Face ID to unlock my laptop easily. The only problem that I really had was I felt as if the battery life was not very long. It was very quick to charge but didn’t feel like it lasted me a long while. Other than that I think this is a solid laptop with great programs and easy to use for college.

Not sure how much I like it for now. Its been a little different than my previous Surface Book which had many more features. I don't think the price of the laptop is justifiable, but we will see. The only reason I like it Microsoft is because they are sleek, fast, and easy do work or personal on. But, after only having my previous laptop for 2 years and paid close to 2k - there was no reason why my screen went black. I'm a bit afraid of keeping this one too I just don't care for Dell or HP there so bulky and hard to find one in comparison to this laptop. Be sure to keep your Onedrive linked to your desktop to save all of your data, the minute this computer goes its the only way to securely retrieve your information.

I was not impressed with the Microsoft Surface Laptop 4. Looks good, sleek and the matte black is visually appealing. Dislike the lack of ports and the laptop seem to run slow and very laggy. Returned.

Great lap top, only flaw is there seems to be an issue with the internal wire that connects from the key board to the screens. Just make sure you get a 24m warranty.

Looks great, battery life is weak, bezels are big

The positives: Nice screen, solid speaker, pretty smooth processor, looks great in Sandstone. The Negatives: With the brightness level at 75% I hardly made it to 6 hours of usage. There is no way Microsoft got 17-18 hours unless it was very dimly lit with 1-2 web pages open and even then 10 hours is probably max. 2018 is calling and they want their bezels back!! Huge! Overpriced imo!

While this is a very nice looking laptop, Microsoft's drive for such a thin screen has apparently forced them to skimp on structural integrity. Unfortunately the glass screen cracked within the first month of use just while opening the laptop. While the crack does run all the way across the screen, it isn't very noticeable from looking at it head on and doesn't impact the laptops performance... it is an annoying a blemish none the less. It's pretty disappointing that the return window was just 3 weeks long and that this sort of damage isn't covered in the general BestBuy warranty or the manufacturer warranty, despite it very much being such a 'typical use' malfunction.

Functional but a potential big problem

The laptop is functional and I like the covering on the typing surface so I don't feel electrical currents coming through it. Especially living overseas, the electrical in buildings is not always grounded properly. A few weeks after owning my computer I left to work overseas. My computer every now and again does this "Zzzzt, Zzzzt, Zzzzt. Not sure what that is but I am not happy about it. I spent a lot of money on this for it to work. Now I can't send it in for repair and will have to find someone in Thailand. I am tired of buying products that are built cheaply and have declined on the quality control.

Be careful and get a computer that will fit the needs of your new college student. That's what I learned recently when I bought another computer without checking with my niece. As soon as we tried to add programs to the other cheap computer...it started to slow down. We went to Best Buy and they suggested this computer. the nice called me the other day and told me this computer is working better than she could have hoped.

Functions well enough and as expected. The case is the issue as it’s extremely slippery. When trying to remove it from my computer bag it slips out of my hand. I’ve had it slip out of my hand several times. Had I realized this prior to purchasing it I would have looked at a different model and possibly brand. Also battery life isn’t near as long as stated. Can not recommend.

Nice laptop. Very fast processor. The screen is great but it drains battery. I get about 5.5 hours max with screen at 75% brightness. The battery is so disappointing that I forgot to mention the rather big bezels that are also disappointing. The Surface Laptop Go has a more modern look with small bezels but the battery was even worse.
