This is my second Microsoft Surface Pro (this one is an 8 and the previous one was a 7). The laptop itself is absolutely everything I could want in a laptop, i.e. light, easy to use, consistent performance, etc. I only replaced my last one because the keyboard went out (had replaced it twice) which has nothing to do with the laptop itself.

Bad response costly Apple products I returned it

Well, lets say that this is a perfectly designed tablet laptop hybrid if you like overpaying for branding and if you like that everything you need to be fully functional as a laptop will cost extra and is not in the box Folio covers, stylus and or mouse, proprietary power supply, too few usb ports and no HDMI so you will have to have a USB hub and an adapter for USB C to HDMI or whatever display type connection you'll need as those are absent from this device. I had this for about 5 days and returned it as I paid around $1900 and when I got home it was just far too much for the price when looking at all the things I would in time have to replace over its lifespan which would not be cheap. This is Microsofts response at trying to compete with high end Apple devices which I feel they have only done in price point and propriety. Huge Fail for MS.. High End specs a larger screen more inputs and allowing for 3rd party accessories would appeal to a much larger customer base. I mean lets face it there are few devices they we continue to use beyond two years because tech moves too fast and you don't want to be left in the dirt or simply they get broken. The company that one day creates products to benefit people instead of themselves by trickling out slightly upgraded devices every 6 months to a year will surpass the earnings of both companies combined. A company that releases products with every advanced technology known to man versus trying to wow us with an extra camera lens and pretending the iteration of whatever brand or device can now see through walls or make you an onlyfans star, lol. I hope these tech giants fall soon and also that someone else picks up where Fry's Electronics left off. *cries a little*

The new surface pro is such a beauty, it durable and the battery lasts a long time. I personally work with three monitors and constantly have to be on the move. It light and the screen seems larger. It easy to navigate and windows 11 has done a very good job in the app organization. I would recommend this laptop to students or anyone who is working from home.

Great form factor and it feels very high quality. I owned a Surface Pro 4 previously and this is a step up in every way. The screen is very nice. I also have not noticed much heat or fan noise so far. It's really nice to be able to carry around a full-powered laptop in such a small size.

A great product. Having bought and kept using for 2 months already. Fast, responsive, easy to use and carry. With an extension hub, it can be connected to different external monitors very easily. In addition, the face login feature is very convenient. Basically you can sit and log in in seconds. Top quality in terms of its design and performance.

I freaking love this computer! Portability is great for travel and entertainment, power is enough for work and some light gaming, and the form factor makes drawing or just streaming shows excellent. I only wish battery was a little better, never getting more than about 6 hours max.

Outstanding Upgrade to the Surface Pro 2017

Big improvement when moving from the Surface Pro from 2017 in every way. I have had a Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 2017 and now Surface Pro 8 and every time it has been a significant upgrade. The Processor is a big improvement over the fanless I5 that was in my 2017 model. I did get the Graphite model and it is a beautiful device with nice lines and it feels great to carry when quickly moving from location to location. The screen is very nice and the bezels are much improved but there is still room for improvement. Weight wise there isn't much difference so no wins here. I will say that the new keyboard is better and I like the way that the keyboard now seems to be magnetized to the screen requiring a little bit of effort to separate them apart (not a whole lot but feel really good and it keeps the keyboard nice and tight to the screen making it feel really secure.) One thing I haven't heard many people talk about is the sound quality but I will say the sound is much better than the previous models. I have not used the pen extensively at this point so not too much feedback on that. I will say that many say the price is high but to be honest they really just eliminated some of the lower configurations.

    Nice machine, but.....

I was excited for the changes in the Surface Pro line but after having it for a short time, I gave up. I bought the i7/16/256 plus the typeover and pen. This was a crazy expensive solution. DESIGN: The design is based upon the Surface Pro X. Microsoft removed the MicroSD slot and switched the drive to be "replaceable" (not that you can easily find the right model). I don't love the black due to fingerprints and potential to see every possible scratch or nick. These machines are also very slippery. Buy the silver if you're gonna get one and consider putting a skin on it for protection and grip. Love the Microsoft typecover but it and the pen are crazy expensive. DISPLAY: The display is big and beautiful compared to my SP7 and the refresh rate is very nice. One problem I experienced with the thin bezels is that, while holding it as a tablet, my fingers constantly registered as a click/selection. POWER: The ability of this machine with it's 11th gen processor, Xe graphics and the like are super powerful. I tested Adobe Premier video editing and was very pleased with the performance considering the type of editing I do (I'm NOT using 4k or 8k video with complex color corrections, Luts and such) WINDOWS 11: Windows 11 gave me a variety of problems and I imagine they're be addressed over time but I was turned off by the whole package of software, hardware and price. SUMMARY: It's a beautiful machine with a future but I'm not there yet for the price and package. I'll revisit in the future but have moved back to my SP7 and Windows 10 for now.

I Love This Machine!!!! Everything I do puts this Surface to the test. From day one I installed Vegas pro on it to see how it would respond and it worked well. No crashes or pauses through the whole session. I really enjoy how the system works it's, it's not a powerhouse computer so its not fast enough to handle editing a full movie or short film without rendering in fact the project that I worked on was 11 minutes with average effects on it, towards finishing it got choppy slow but it didn't stop! I also installed Nuendo on it and it works great. I had a little problem at first with running a session at 96k with my Apollo twin x though. I think it is a driver issue, but anyway the system works fine. The battery power is not that great at 120htz refresh rate so I keep it at 60htz. Over all its a great tablet/laptop! I have a M1 Mac mini that I use to use for everything but now it sits because I have a new travel buddy that I can put on every Surface and it works great! This is one month to date and it really works great.

Premium device that delivers as expected

I had a Surface Pro 4 that unfortunately met an untimely demise. I needed a quick replacement and looking at the options went back to the Surface Pro ecosystem. This was much smoother than my original experience buying a Surface Pro. The device has overall met my expectations of a premium device that's nicely portable and easy to use for inking as well as typing. As a portable productivity device the Surface pro 8 excels. It's not bad for casual games (nothing crazy, but older games will run okay). It works well for creative endeavors as well. I use it for basic sketching and run Fusion 360 on it without issue for moderately complex models. One a recent flight it performed as expected watching downloaded Netflix movies without issue. The only issue I had was a snag while trying to install some Windows updates when I first got it and I had to contact Microsoft support to help resolve it. (An install was disrupted accidentally not normal use). We worked through a lot and ultimately, they resolved the issue. Oh yea, the addition of USB C is a really nice addition too. I'm quite happy at the end of the day.

    Beautiful and Capable 2-in-1

This is a beautiful machine! I am absolutely impressed with what this 2-in-1 has to offer. As a student, I wanted a computer/tablet that was capable of taking handwritten notes and doing online assignments. This does that wonderfully. I've had it for a while and it has been nothing short of wonderful. In terms of 2-in-1s, this is probably the best one on the market so far. It performs well as a desktop and not too shabby as a tablet. The only downside is you can only really use this as a laptop when you are at a table or desk due to the tablet's center of gravity so I would recommend getting a lap desk or something of that sort if that would be a problem for you. Another downside is the fact that the accessories come separately, but that's a given since this is only the tablet. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants something for note taking. P.S. I use Bamboo Paper for hand-written notes and I use Microsoft One Note for annotating on PDFs.
