I recently tried out and I'm genuinely impressed with its performance. The design is thoughtful and user-friendly, making it a breeze to use right out of the box. Every feature seems to be tailored for efficiency and convenience. It's clear that a lot of thought and innovation went into its creation. Moreover, the durability and build quality are commendable, giving me confidence in its longevity. I've tried other products in the same category before, but stands out as a top-tier choice. Definitely a worthwhile investment for anyone looking for quality and reliability.

When we switched to working from home after COVID hit we need more ethernet portals because our work devices required them to run effectively. We have the google nest system which we love but it only has the one outgoing ethernet port and so we decided on the NETGEAR switch. I looked a few other options but loved the simplicity of this one. It's unmanaged so set up was simple and easy, basically just plug and go. The size small so it does not take up much space at all. And best of all it works perfectly, as advertised, and now we have all the connection ports we need. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone considering it.

This 5 port switch does exactly what it's meant to do and setup is extremely simple, just plug and play. I purchased one for my living room and ended up getting a second for my loft.
My living room has an ethernet equipped TV, Apple TV 4K, console and security camera; not wanting to sacrifice speed or stability with Wi-Fi connections, I used this switch to have a wired connection for each device. The connections have been fast and stable for all devices connected. The wired connection allows me to stream high data rate 4K HDR content with no lag or buffering.
My loft has another TV, console and a Network Attached Storage device and the connections have also been great. I'm able to access the network hard drive from my PCs with ease and transfer files back and forth quickly.
If I ever need more ethernet connections, I'd but another switch without hesitation.

Sorry for the terrible summary. This was literally an easy plug and play option for me and I tested my download/upload several times before and after and didn't see any loss in network speed or connectivity. I've been using it for over a month now with no issues.
I've always had great experiences with Netgear products (my current modem is also Netgear) and this Ethernet switch is no different. The 8 port model is overkill for what I need but I'm sure it works just as well if you need that sort of network solution.

Summary pretty much covers it. It's old-school Netgear equipment in metal enclosures. They are small, pretty much bullet-proof, and just work. I upgraded to a pair of these because the new network is gigabit, but the older 100Mbit switches were still working fine.
Great little switch, cheap, rock-solid performance

Netgear switches are simply the best. Sturdy case, rock-solid performance, fast. This model is best for installations with cabling at the front so you can see the indicator light. I installed this switch in the ceiling of my laundry room close to the gateway router in a central location to branch off cables to the rest of the house. The lights clearly show the speed (10, 100, 1000) on each port. I recently got new routers and updated ethernet cabling, so I replaced an older Netgear 10,100 hub to get the gigabit speeds. The old hub was the same case and had been working flawlessly for many years. Since upgrading my speed with Xfinity to 300Mbps max, I needed the faster ethernet to my desktop computer for work from home. I'm consistently getting speed tests on my desktop of 250Mbps and higher. No setup with this switch, since it is unmanaged. Just plug it in and it works forever!

i bought one of these many years ago, and it worked quite well util i needed more capacity - i recently bought another one for a friend because i knew that the setup and use would be easy, and that it was both reliable and small

I had one Ethernet output from my router, but I wanted 3 fast connections. This unmanaged switch was priced competitively, so I tried it. It works great!

Very well built compared to the unit from another manufacturer that failed. Very easy to setup. Great instructions can be found on YouTube. Worked the first time and continues to operate without a problem. Will definitely stick with NetGear products.

If you have ever been in the market for an unmanaged switch, it is nearly impossible NOT to come across this family of Netgear switches. I have a couple of these deployed in my home and I've deployed dozens of these in the field as well. They just... work.
Purchased a new construction home and many of the rooms have ethernet pre-wired. Most stationary devices in my home are using ethernet and I use a mix of these Netgear 5-port and 8-port switches depending on the device load. There are TVs, streaming devices (5 Apple TVs), computers, gaming consoles, smart bridges, NAS, printers, mesh nodes, AV equipment (receivers, power amps), etc. all running through these switches and haven't had any issues with them.
They are also great options for the small business segment. In fact, they are marketed for business use and come with a lifetime warranty. Most residential networking equipment these days are housed in a plastic chassis. The metal case certainly gives a premium feel in your hands over plastic and I personally like the simplicity of the design. My significant other disagrees and does not like the way they look. However, no complaints from her about buffering when she's binge watching her shows in 4K.
Great option at this price point. Highly recommend!

I have several of these on my home network, they are easy to set up and you can connect up to four devices to it. Wired connections are faster and more reliable than wireless, so when I can used wired I do.
