My router developed a finicky port, would start developing errors and dropping connectivity. The Netgear router was a great price and worked right off the bat with no configuration. Good purchase!

Bought for my daughters college apartment, works exactly as advertised and at a very good price point. No software, no downloads, just plug it in & it works! Keep in mind, though, can only use 4 of the ports for (outgoing) network signal, as one of the ports must be used to connect to your modem / router. If you need to connect more than 4, your will need a larger switch.

We've been NetGear fans for our networking components for years and picked this one up when our TV / Gaming area went one connection more than the 4 port we had after picking up another gaming console (I think we have one of everything now lol). Anyway - super fast performance, allows us to run full Gigabit end to end on our LAN and super easy to use/install. Plus we've used NetGear products for very long time because they are problem free and dependable.

Ive got google wifi and there is only 1 additional ethernet input on that device if you want to hardwire devices. This switch came through for helping me add additional inputs for hardwiring devices without wifi capabilities. Purchased this in April and has been working perfectly ever since. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

I bought the Google AC1200 mesh system to ensure good Wi-fi throughout our house but I had several hard wired devices. I used the Netgear 5-Port unmanaged switch to connect these devices to the main Google unit. Now everything is working as it should. It took only minutes to make the needed connections and the function lights on the unit make monitoring it simple and fast.

the switch does what I bought it for- connects several devices to the primary switch at gigabit speeds. the form factor is smaller than the picture would suggest.

I used it to expand the available number of outgoing ethernet ports for my Google wifi since it only had one. Currently have two devices connected directly to the switch and another connection that runs from the switch to a MOCA set-up with another two devices connected to that at the end point. So far I have had zero issues. It was really the perfect solution to what I needed.

If you don't have enough ethernet ports from your router then go with this. Solved my lackiing ethernet ports for my Roku, Apple TV, Sony 4K and cable box, bluray player. Especially if you watch HD and 4K contents most of the time e.g. some Amazon Prime movies that are available with 4K streaming or Netflix 4K exclusives like Marco Polo and House of Cards. No lag, no more waiting for downloading while you watch uninterrupted!

I use this switch at work in my role as IT Support personnel. My company was too silly to make sure I had a switch at my desk to make sure I was able to connect the sometimes multiple machines I 'm working on at my desk to the network so I went out and bought this little guy. Works like a charm and haven't had a problem with it at all. It's small and compact and aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommend for workbenches.

    Netgear is the best!

There are some givens here. Only time will really tell how these perform, and most switches are just that. The only difference might be 100Mb or 1000, but Netgear has always proven their reliability over the years, and I like the concepts of lightweight (read: plastic), decent lights, and bold numbers. I chose this over a cheaper brand, because I knew it would continue to work, even if it might get dropped and cracked.

Moved the ps4 into my sons room and needed a splitter for the internet. Bought this cheap switch so he could have a hardwire internet connection for both his computer and ps4 and it’s super easy and works great. Literally pull it out of the box, plug it in and connect the Ethernet cables and it was on!

After I plugged in my eero mesh Wi-Fi system THE GREATEST! I needed this so I can plug in my Directv into an extra Ethernet port. The eero has 2 ports but I needed an extra one for Directv. Directv needs Internet Wi-Fi in order to work for pay per view (which I don’t do) and to use on demand feature that I do. I know that Directv also has their own personal wireless equipment but conveniently my DIRECTV person came back another day to trouble shot and ended up taking my wireless equipment and instead wire it, he said it would be better to wire it but never said he would keeping my wireless equipment I originally had what if my WiFi connection got better I could’ve used it again. I didn’t even realize the darn box was gone until about four months later I opened the cardboard box that it came in and it was empty, (third party hook up people) probably took it so he could sell the equipment on the side, so now I need to keep it Directv (wired) because when I called Directv and asked them if they can bring back my wireless box that I originally had and now they say I would have to pay for a service call and upgraded (that’s another story) so typical, so I just bought this little tiny Netgear box with extra ports, so convenient to keep it wired.

Although they call it a switch, I would have called this unit a hub or bus. No matter, need to remember that one port is for input. Very easy to install, just plug and play, easy. There is no software to install or need to use your computer at all. Flashing lights easily indicate when connections are made. Small and light weight, easy to hide away out of view and out of your way. The price was good also, I expected to pay more.
