We needed more speed and the ability to hook in a phone line. This modem was a more expensive model but with the amount of traffic in our home post-COVID, we went for this one! The difference was immediate and pleasing, and well worth the money.

Bought this to stop renting from xfinity and so far has been great. The setup was pretty easy if you are familiar with setting up modems already and I have had no performance issues since buying it.

Replaced comcast awful gateway. Easy set up. Was a comcast approved modem. ( they have a list on their website) combined with Orbi WiFi. Constant flawless internet was the result! FYI Comcast will tell you that if you don’t use their gateway you can’t use their wireless cable boxes because they will not update. I know someone that has used them for years with no problem. But getting comcast to put wireless cable boxes in their system for you could be a problem.

When my cable internet speed slowed way down (to the point where streaming shows would pause periodically with the spinning circle of doom), I discovered that my Comcast/Xfinity-rented cable modem was no longer supported. I decided it was time to buy my own.
I specifically did not want one that included a router, since I already have an Orbi mesh system, and this Netgear Nighthawk seemed to fit the bill.
Setting it up was pretty easy and took less than 10 minutes. Now I have the superfast speed that I'm paying for.

Excellent modem! We never had any problems with this modem at all. Speed was exception. We switched to the Xfinity modem to get a discount on our billing and have had nothing but problems! We are switching back to our Netgear Nighthawk.

So far...great. Returned my xfinity modem/router equipment for the Netgear Nighthawk voice/cable modem. I'm getter faster speeds and saving money by not paying the fee for the xfinity equipment. No issues connecting all the items in the house that rely on wi-fi 2.4 ghz. Only issue for me was getting xfinity to "recognize" the new voice/cable modem.

Good solid fast cable modem with VoIP support. Easy to setup. The design and material of the CM looks a bit strange and cheap but functional. Works well with Comcast Xfinity.

easy to install; perfect alignment with the nighthawk wireless router; good price for the quality; enables our landline phone & gig service from comcast seamlessly
Like the product hope I don't need help from suppo

Works well so far down load is faster than my other modem/router combo. A lot better than the modem I had for 4 years, Small and doesn't take up a lot of space, Only had it in service for a couple of days. Still having syncing problems with my 4k sony tv. Over all good so far with the router I purchase with it I was able to get rid of the extended wifi router and have everything in one location. I to call for support for the router, not very good, gave me a case # and put me on hold forever. Hung up the phone a lot of places blame it on the virus for their bad service.

After suffering with the Arris T25, Intel Puma based voice modem, and listening to Arris support blame everyone else for the frequent lockups and need to hard reboot, I finally threw in the towel and bought a CM2050V. My previous Arris modem couldn't make it more than 4 days without needing to be hard reboot. Comcast couldn't figure out why. The tech who came out showed me my signal levels were good. He also told me I wasn't the first customer to have issues with the Arris T25.
This CM2050V has been running flawlessly for 15 days. I'm cautiously optimistic my issues are resolved.

I purchased this cable modem because I was adding VOIP and getting a higher speed wifi. This was the only voice cable modem I found and I didn't want to pay the Xfinity months charge for their cable modem. The setup was fairy easy and there were no problems with the wifi. The phone took about two hours to become active, perhaps because it was a new line. I've had this cable modem about two weeks and haven't had any issues. Just plugged in my mesh network router. I now get 400 mbs download speed most of the time.
