It seems to be doing it job I’ll know once I upgrade my router to an WiFi 6 I still own a WiFi 5 router. My top speed is around 700- 800 mps download plugged in the MacBook Pro. I’m not seeing the 1GB download I’m paying for with Xfinity. When not plugged in my speed is about 220-300 mps download. I upgrade to this device bc I have a total of 21 devices on the network and my old modem Arris was outdated and wasn’t compatible anymore.

So far this modem is working as expected. Easy to setup and use. I have noticed a download speed increase as well. Works well with Xfinity internet service.

Very Happy with the CM2050V already can tell the speed when browsing the internet. had a little trouble setting up the new modem, needed help from Xfinity, had a little challenge removing the old modem off the system. Other wise very happy with my new modem.
Netgear Nighthawk D3.1 voice cable modem is great!

This Netgear Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 voice cable modem was great for me! I was able to use gigabit Comcast Internet speeds with it. I seem to remember getting around ~960mb down and about 39mb up.
The only reason I decided to use my replacement warranty was I had to reboot it every few weeks or so. Wasn't positive it was my modem or if it was my signal from Comcast, but I replaced it to be certain. Other than that, it is a great purchase and recommend it or any of Netgear's Nighthawk modems.

The Netgear Nighthawk Docsis 3.1 with Voice works GREAT! It has long range output and reception. Was extremely easy to install. It holds up to Netgear's connection reputation.

Overall, the CM2050v has been fine until I received notice last week (January 2025) about a firmware issue on Xfinity's/Comcast's network. According to Reddit post in December 2024, Xfinity/Comcast is slowly rolling out the new firmware. It appears the firmware issue/fix has been in the making since December 2023.
I just wanted to bring this to the attention of buyers of a possible firmware issue that may affect the product's ability to deliver speeds included in their internet plan.

I work remotely and urgently needed to replace my old Motorola modem to increase my connection speed. I bought a $350 Netgear Nighthawk because it had great specs and is supposed to be a trusted brand. After connecting it to my Xfinity cable, it didn't work. I tried to set it up multiple times over two evenings and spent an hour talking to a Netgear consultant over the phone. He went through all the troubleshooting procedures, but it didn't help. Maybe overall it's a good device; mine was simply broken. I was annoyed since I really urgently needed it.
I immediately bought an Arris S33 instead, and it works great. The installation took 5 minutes.
I wanted to return the Netgear modem to Best Buy in Dublin, CA. They didn't want to accept the return because I learned the return window is only 15 days, even if the modem was broken. Finally, I got store credits. Not bad, but also not what I wanted.
Terrible experience with Netgear, and not a good one with Best Buy either.

Had so many issues with our Motorola voice modem we were forced to switch to this Netgear Nighthawk voice modem. Night & day and so very happy with our purchase. Paired with the Nighthawk satellite system was more than we wanted to spend, but have had zero issues with connection and are thrilled with the upgrade.

I've never been interested in adding digital voice service with our ISP (Comcast) since all supporting devices for the service had been gateways (modem + router combo device). Netgear finally came out with a modem that supports VOIP service and can still be paired with your own router, providing better reliability and no monthly equipment rental from your ISP. Setup was a snap, and having 2.5Gbps support on the LAN port allows us to get the full 1.2Gbps downstream speed in our tier. Fantastic device!
