Modem provided 4 ports but no option to route one WAN address to those ports (incoming traffic). The admin panel under 192.168.100.1 provides no routing option and pretty much hands this control to Xfinity which provides the Firmware. Speed was <90 mbps, less than my old DOCSIS 3.0 modem with speed around 150mbps.
Overall, I still like NETGEAR for other network devices but not for cable modem. I am happy with my old ARRIS cable modem.

For this price, should also be a router. It seems some connections will stall. Not sure if it's the cable modem or the ISP.

I recently switched to this router over my Xfiniity router because I was tired of paying the high monthly fee. However, since making the switch I have yet to hit the speeds I was getting with my previous router even though it says it is a gigabit router. I also had to call Netgear to get it setup because Xfinity refused to work with me until I did and their customer support was less than adequate.

Broke right after 90 days. Netgear refused to do anything with out paying 90$ for troubleshooting. I am out 250 and back to renting. Do not buy from Netgear. Speed was slightly better then comcast rental. This product actually hurt my impression of best buy.

Reason for one star is experience with the customer service at netgear. I had the Comcast tech on the line and Netgear tech was telling the him he had to activate all ports manually, The tech explain that all he has to do is activate the device, add phone # for device and all port should work. The Netgear insisted this modem did not work this way. The tech ask possible this item is defected and Netgear rep didn't believe it so. After spending over hour with him and possible another 15 minutes waiting for his supervisor, I decided that I be returning equipment back.
Both Comcast tech and my self have been client of Netgear for over 4 years. We where disappointed with his lack of knowledge no the product. In the end I decided to reactivate my old Netgear equipment. Only reason I was replacing it, it does not support my new plan faster speed,

Good luck restarting your modem

If my power goes out, I need to restart the modem. To restart this modem, you do not simply unplug it and plug it back in. You need to unplug it, u plug the coaxial cable, plug it back in, and then plug in the coaxial cable. Every time.

Failed to work as advertised continually dropped connection on Xfinity cable even though labeled as such. Replaced with provider gateway that works correctly. Technical support from manufacturer and cable company could not resolve.

Loved the Modem.
Ordered it needed it next day. Running by the store was not an option. So hey there is was same day shipping. Sure I pay for that. NOPE never happened. Then it delayed to next day. That was still doable. NOPE never happened took almost two weeks to get it.

I purchased this modem that is advertised as being Comcast certified. When I installed it, Comcast told me the modem wasn't in their system so they had to escalate it to be added. I've had nothing but issues with it since August. Fast forward to November and Comcast has been out here 3 times but provided phone support and "sending signals" at least 3 times a week since then. I finally had them send me their modem. It works perfectly. I haven't lost my connection once. Of course now this is past return time. I spent 35 minutes on the phone with customer service at Best Buy this morning to no avail. I've been a long time BB customer and am disappointed they wouldn't do something. BE VERY CAREFUL ORDERING THIS FOR XFINITY!

how can I review that which was purchased and never properly installed by your pros? they came evaluated suggested what I should do . they sold me the stuff and the geeks were to come out and install it. postponed twice before they came. had to return some of the equipment and substitute something else which they were unable to finish installing . so they left me with the original stuff which was in place before the evaluation with the promise they would come back , appt made to come back and now
they say they aint doin that work due to the virus thing I stiil have an appointment scheduled on April 24 but doubt thegeeks will show up. the new equipment is sitting here waiting to be properly installed yet its paid for .

I bought this after upgrading to the one gig. Comcast tried everything and could not get it to work. And then I called netgear. The first lady I spoke with was great and was able to get it to connect to my router. After I hung up with her, I found that the netgear nighthawk DODSIS 3.1 wasn't transmitting to the Netgear gigabit switch. So I called back. After another 45 minutes hold time, the guy I spoke to didn't even want to listen. He told me to return everything cos they were faulty. I did!
Thank God for best buy. I was able to get the Motorola and it works brilliantly and I was actually surprised it had a built in router and it covers my house very well.
Bye netgear! For people like me who pay the premium price for your supposed premium product, I'm disappointed!!!
