    I couldn’t even connect to Xfinity. Kept dropping. Xfinity came out twice. Netgear customer service is worthless. I have an expensive brick. I’m pretty sure I have high blood pressure now. Thanks!

    Died twice, replaced with a Moto

    Always a problem. First one died and was replaced. Second one just died, one year warrantee didnt restart with the second one. Replaced with a Moto and got the $30 4 year warentee.

    I was very excited to get this modem and it worked well for about 1 week. However, after 1 week, I noticed my internet connection was poor and slow. At some points, I even lost total internet connection. I didn’t think anything was wrong with this modem because it was brand new. I soon realized that there was something wrong with this modem and that my return timeline for the modem had passed. I called Best Buy to speak to the representative and she told me there’s nothing she can do. I am now stuck with this defective modem, waste of money.

    Didn't work for me with Xfinity X1. I tried for several hours to get this to mesh with my equipment and never had any luck.

    Was hoping this would be a good replacement for rented Modem. Voice would not work, but internet did. I needed for both. Only one LAN available.

    if I could give this product negative stars I would, it is that bad. I returned the first one because it wouldn't keep a stable Internet connection, I thought it was just a bad device. However, the replacement is just ad bad. It will not keep a connection and speed is at about 2mbs, my plan is 275. I have had previous Netgear modems and no issues but this maybe the last modem I ever buy from Netgear!!!

    Terrible purchase and horrible customer service support. After working with Comcast on terrible internet speeds the entire problem was this modem! Call Netgear to help and have your Credit Card handy to pay for support. Last Netgear purchase we will ever make.

    I bought this modem for my Xfinity service and thought it was going to be great. It hasn't worked very well and keeps dropping the internet connection. I contacted the Netgear support and because I am out of the 90-day window they basically hand you off to someone who tells you to reset the box and hope it works. It is frustrating to deal with and I want my money back; however, I can't return it because I am outside of the window.

    I've owned this about four months. Initially it seemed to work fine, but the last couple weeks the internet connection would drop (I have 1 gig from Comcast / Xfinity). I wasn't sure if my problem was Xfinity or this modem. I decided to rent the Xfinity modem and have no problems since.

    Tried to use this with Xfinity, would not work!! No where in the instructions did it say you had to call Netgear to activate. Spent over an hour on the phone with Netgear after having to have the Xfinity service people out to assist. Only to be told by Netgear that the unit is defective.

    Installed and contacted Xfinity to activate. After they activated it, only a handful of websites were accessible. Reset device to factory settings, Xfinity activated again, same issue. Returning for a full refund! Do not recommend!

    Let me start with this - I have refused to purchase Netgear products since the days of PCI modems. I got burned in the 90's and never looked back. This product has opened the door again and I will consider the routers in the future. Unboxed to Online in 30 minutes. Power and direct ethernet to computer. Enter the IP address, user name and password. Change the password and enter. Power down. Install router cable to modem, computer to router via wifi, xfinity cable to modem. Power on and start dialing the service provider. While waiting, modem finds service, and connection light shows solid. Talk to the CS agent for provisioning. Provided the addresses (CM MAC and MTA MAC) and model #. Did not want to go on the internet with an open modem regardless of what my provider uses for security...it would be foolish. Waited for verification, 2 reboots, and a dial tone confirmed with a call back from the provider to verify the phone function. SWEEEET! No more rental. Speed bump! And closer to the actual Tier I have paying for. Very happy with the setup and service call. Happy to get ride of the giant eye sore. Take off the foot and it lays flat, or under the router (just put on some rubber spacers for air circulation). After thrashing the unit, no drops, no jitters, just rock solid connection with the ISP. Good job Netgear! Price point is up there. Massive room for channel expansion. The world being content driven (Hey Alexa! What's in my frig?) this unit will be servicing the need for a good 5-10 years to come.

    Returned, worked for about 5 minutes and then just stopped, lights showed that it was connected but no internet, and no voice had xfinity check it out and they determined that the modem was bad.

    Not giving me the performance I was told I’d get.

    Just spent $500.00 to upgrade my modem and router. Bought exactly what I was told to buy. I’ve received no improvements actually it worse. It was bought for use with my new Samsung Q90T zero improvement.

    Worst netgear modem.

    Do not buy it stops working after four months. Net gear does not honor the warranty and BEST BUY will not honor the warranty unless you purchase additional coverage from them.

      Thank you for your feedback. All NETGEAR products come with 90 days of complimentary technical support, and 1 year of hardware replacement warranty. If you are beyond the 90 days of complimentary support and you need additional technical support you will be asked to purchase an extended support contract, but if the device has failed and needs to be replaced you will not be charged for the support call, since this is covered under the hardware replacement warranty.
